    Churrasco

Excellent experience, we sat outside with a dog brought menus right away drink orders, taken right away, asked a couple questions about some of the food preparation's and off to the races. We were ready for a first course we ordered chicken and the pork tamale, let me stay I felt like they came out of grandma's kitchen. They were that good that fresh incredible texture nothing like I've had before.. For our next dish that we shared was a Churrasco, and it was cooked to perfection, medium rare to medium. The meat was extremely tender. The plantains cooked perfectly with a nice side salad, slice of avocado, with a slice a lot of lime, and a very interesting bean side dish-I guess maybe refried beans with some pork. All in all a great tasty meal, and we will be back, and we will be bringing a specific friend with us who touts to know some of the best Latin food in the area

We've had great Ethiopian, Vietnamese, Jamaican and French food in Philadelphia and Hoboken recently. But good ethnic restaurants are rare in the Flemington area. We tried the Latin American restaurant Mi Rosita tonight and the food was delicious. Our waitress recommended the churrasco steak and the garlic shrimp platters, which were flavorful and perfectly cooked. Looking forward to trying other items on their extensive menu. It helps if you know a bit of Spanish when ordering.

We met Tosita and had a nice Honduran meal after hanging at the Ironbound Ciderfest. We started with the chickarone papisas that we added pickled cabbage and tomato salsa and some fried plantains. Good way to start. Then we had the chicken-stesk-plantain-rice-bean-avacado-thing and it was good. Muchas gracias Rosita!

Decided to give this place a try because of the perfect reviews and the items on the menu looked very appetizing. When I first pulled up I didn't know whether they were open or closed, this place was a complete ghost town! At 2pm on a Monday I was expecting more then just the cook, the waitress and myself to be the only people at the location. I must say the restaurant was clean almost alittle to clean, like maybe it's so clean because they don't have many customers, but I digress. I was sorta greeted with "want food?" Um yeah why else would I be here? I quickly realized there is a major language barrier but don't let this deture you to coming here because this won't have any interference when ordering because the menu is mostly photos. I ordered the grilled chicken, rice, beans and slaw/salad togo. Service was quick and accurate, but the chicken was semi dry but I'm not sure if there is a correlation with the distance I traveled to find the place or was the chicken simply dry either way it wasn't that bad it was good just dry. The rice was simple plan rice so nothing fancy there BUT the bean OMG were perfect!!!! Not to thick, mushy or fake tasting but creamy and whipped perfectly. I should have ordered an extra side of just beans. I didn't try the salad/slaw concoction because it had a smell, wasnt unpleasent, I didn't think would satisfy my pallet. I also got a mixed (pork, beans and cheese) papusa which tasted pretty good. They also provided a red hot sauce that was flavorful and not to spicy. Overall I couldn't give them a 5 star just yet because of the chicken but for sure I would like to dine in in the very near future.

Bandeja Catracha, with cheese pupusas and Bistec Encebollado in the background. Very generous portion sizes!

Finding this place was a pleasant surprise - I had been looking for a good Central American restaurant in Hunterdon County (which is rich in Italian restaurants and not much else). We ordered pupusas (cheese filled cornmeal pancakes) to start, and they came with curtido (pickled cabbage) and hot sauce. I got a Bandeja Catracha, which had steak with onions, marinated fried chicken, rice, beans, avocado, fried plantain, and a slice of fresh cheese. Along with a tamarind drink, it was all delicious! The steak in particular was seasoned really well. The waitress was super friendly, and spoke both English and Spanish. We'll definitely be coming back!

Well we fixed that as of last night and wow did we have a tasty experience. Bryan, our server, made sure we were ordering in the best way possible to ensure our return trip. So many tasty dishes to choose from and we had both narrowed down to two which Bryan explained and guided us on. Ironically my dish per a Google AI search was the most enjoyed dish. Funny, AI can now even help summarize all the Google reviews and to distill it down for us in seconds. So on this Friday evening after work, here's what we ordered... we start off with a mango margarita which we shared and this was over ice not frozen in a properly salted glass and boy did it taste awesome. We started off with an appetizer of the.Pastelillos Boricuas (3 pieces), it was for us cooked to perfection. It was not over fried. The meat was tender. It was tasty. It was. The crust was soft, even though it had some crispness to it, and I would absolutely start with these again. For our mains, my wife had the Ropa Vienna Platter and she absolutely loved it and reminded her of her time down in Miami for school and getting local Cuban or Caribbean or Puerto Rican food and this just hit it for her. For me I followed my Google AI search... The standout, highly-rated dish at La Casona Restaurante & Bar in Hamilton is their Trifongo. Customers rave about this signature item, often ordered with Churrasco A La Criolla (skirt steak in a flavorful Creole sauce). This came in a wooden round bowl at first I thought it was a coconut shell. It was absolutely delicious moist tender tasty. Our whole dinner experience met exactly with what I was looking for when I told my wife I'm tired of our usual restaurants. I wanna try something different. I don't know what it is but it's a food group that we don't eat or don't eat often and that's how we found La Casona. They have a bar. There's a huge parking lot outback indoor outdoor dining. It's perfect for romantic night out for two as well as large groups. Note they have different pricing for cash paying versus credit card. Staff super friendly courteous the place is immaculately clean, and the food was scrumptious.

It's a relatively unassuming space; we went during the week, so it wasn't super crowded, but we had a good time there together. I can't recall exactly what I ordered, but the shared items and drinks and food were all delicious, and I would be down to return! Hope to order again from them in the future, or to visit again!

It has expanded and taken up a bit more space over the years, and the expansion is well-deserved. Featuring a Pura Vida Costa Rican flare you have a number of options available for both breakfast and lunch. I've tried quite a bit of the menu, but they are known for their tried and true empanadas. They have about half a dozen varieties and I end up getting at least one of each every time I visit. They're hot, big, flavorful, and the shell is a perfect consistency. The waitstaff is some of the friendliest around. The outdoor seating is also quite nice in the summertime alongside the pedestrian street. In terms of the menu, it's hard to say there is a standout, because I get something different each time, and I have yet to go wrong. Everything here is absolutely excellent, and I look forward to each return visit to come.
