Carne De Puerco En Salsa Verde

Here's an easy tip: if the house is converted into a restaurant, go eat there. The food here is amazing. I genuinely could drink this red salsa for sustenance and be happy in life. Just take my word on this one.

Nice little authentic Mexican restaurant off Rt. 12, had the steak enchiladas, was really good, will be coming back for sure to try some other selections on the menu.

Food here is so good and pretty cheap I was surprised. Family owned resteraunt, service is friendly just a little slow but the food is worth it

El Molcajete is a new Mexican restaurant in the former location of Etzel's and, more recently, Back Road BBQ. We happened upon the restaurant when passing by last week and decided to give it a try. Firstly, this is NOT a Tex-Mex or any other kind of "fusion" restaurant. El Molcajete serves traditional Mexican food, and it's pretty darn good. The restaurant is bare bones. When you walk in you immediately get the feeling of what you are in for, a no-frills experience and authentic food. Perfect. We tried all four varieties of tacos as well as the chicken burrito and chicken enchiladas verdes. The tacos were great. They were on good tortillas and served with plenty of lime, cilantro and radishes. The fillings were a bit dry in my opinion, but the flavor was great. I would expect the fillings to improve over the next weeks as the restaurant starts to get a feeling for its expected daily crowds and popular dishes. The chicken was excellent, in both the burrito and the enchiladas verdes. The verde sauce was also great, and I asked for a dish to have with the tacos. The sauce was a bit spicier than other verde sauces that I have tasted ... fine with me! The flavor was excellent. I plan to be back for sure.

The food here is to-die for, and is certainly one of the best restaurants in the area. I have friends who visit from out of town who specifically request to go to Blue Fish during their stay! The prices are great for the quality of the food. I always opt for the build-your-own entree. This time, I chose the brisket with a side of the caramelized plantains, but I also often go with the chicken, steak, or salmon with the pesto butter. No matter what you order, you can't go wrong. The staff are very kind and the service is quick. The interior is modern and up-to-date, paralleled by its brick historic vibe exterior, as the Stangl Factory building was once a pottery/ceramic factory. Now, the building is home to Blue Fish Grill, as well as a number of other businesses including an artist-owned gallery, a large pottery studio, a medium, and a yoga and physical therapy studio. Stangl also hosts a weekly artisan farmers' market and bi-monthly live music and art events. It really is a growing creative community. Blue Fish Grill doesn't have a bar, but they do allow BYOB. If you find yourself in the Flemington area, be sure to grab a bite at Blue Fish! It will surely be a meal to remember.

It's such a great local spot, and I don't think enough people realize what it is or how good it's become. My mom and I stopped in for lunch and sat outside on Main Street, which was honestly so lovely. It felt really special to just sit, enjoy a great meal, and be part of the community. We met Mo, who took such great care of us and made the whole experience feel warm and welcoming. We started with the hummus, which was incredibly fresh and smooth, and you could tell everything was made with care. For our mains, we had the lamb chops and the lemon chicken, both of which were delicious. The lamb was tender and perfectly cooked, and the lemon chicken had such a bright, balanced flavor. The potatoes were a standout, roasted and finished in a lemon butter that made them unforgettable. If you haven't been in a while, or didn't realize there's been a change, it's definitely worth stopping in. Main Street businesses could really use the support, and this place is one that deserves it. Go say hi to Mo and give it a try.
