Nice little place on the edge of Frenchtown. Food was decent, service was good. Prices were in line with similar types of restaurants in the area. Ingredients were fresh and the burritos were very good!

A Texas Burrito and Fish Tacos. The Guac was wonderful.

My son and I had a lovely stress-free lunch outside mid week. The server had just the right amount of a tentativeness and willingness to leave us be and enjoy our time, there was never any rush throughout the entire experience we found the food to be tasty, and wonderfully exciting. I had the fish tacos with mango, which was a surprise yet welcome addition. He went more traditional with a burrito. The Molay sauce and guacamole stood out as very, very nice. We did not try any of the local drinks, the day was so hot, that ice water seemed a valid choice. The outside benches did a family with their dog, who was so well-behaved that we barely knew he was there. We will return and give it a shot one evening and look forward to a similar experience.

If our service was better then I would have given more stars but she constantly kept forgetting to get stuff for us and we just kept waiting and waiting and that was a tad annoying. Food was good! It's BYOB, we didn't know so we just had soda. The wet burrito, younhave to get with pork and pineapple. Its something special for sure. The irce and beans were sort of bland, for a mexican spot i expected better flavor. My rice was borderline cold and warm. Not sure if it was forgotten because we did have to wait a long time for our food. Oh oh!!! The chorizo con queso dip!!! Get it!! Mmmmm sooo good!!! Vibe was cute. We ate indoors which was underground. It was naturally cool but after a while it got really really warm. I feel maybe i could have a better experience but not sure i will go again.

    Chorizo dip - excellent!

Took a ride last weekend and found ourselves in Frenchtown, a charming little town in New Jersey right on the Delaware River. Full disclosure - we really wanted to go to the Frenchtown Inn but they were closed (Labor Day). Cocina Del Sol was right across the street and had an empty table outside. The menu is extensive and had some great items but we just wanted a snack so we chose to share the Chorizo Dip along with some Jarristo Sodas. The dip was terrific and I would like to think they prepared it when I ordered it - it certainly didn't look, or taste like something that was sitting on the back burner all day. We will go back on our next excursion.

The interior and presentation of the food could definitely fool you. Yes, it's all colorful and beautiful, but I was a bit disappointed in the food and the management. My husband was so upset by the time we left because we were placed super close to several other parties that were quite loud and disruptive for no reason when there were plenty of other vacant tables they could've placed us at. I ordered the veggie enchiladas, and for them this meant tortillas loaded with squash, a dead giveaway of making the cheapest vegetable dish possible. I would never think that squash had anything to do with a vegetable enchilada. Once I picked out the squash, there was hardly anything left. They should really call it squash enchilada. There was also no cheese in the interior of the enchilada to bind it together. Each time I cut into it, the squash would just pour out. Additionally, the beans were flavorless and watery. The only saving grace was that the rice was decent. Would not recommend.

So good! I had steak and shrimp fajitas, absolutely delicious! My husband had the Coconut Shrimp special, also delicious. Portions are very generous and the service was also very good. Definitely recommend!

I want to start by saying that this place has very kind people and excellent service! But we go out to eat for the food, and the food was unfortunately not great. We shared chicken fajitas, chicken tacos, and steak chimichangas. I bit into something in the fajitas that was so hard it almost broke my tooth, and it tasted awful. No idea what it was. The steak was gristly and the chicken was bland and dry. (Not as dry as the tortillas, though.) The best part of the meal was the rice and beans and even those were pretty mediocre. The meal was very expensive and not worth it. I hate to leave such a negative review but I genuinely think that with a few tweaks in the food preparation, this place could be a hit!! The atmosphere is fun and cozy. The music is great. And you can't beat the location.

I really enjoy my time here when I was in Frenchtown. Shout out to Ronaldo for being great wait staff. I ordered the Tampiquena, which is Chipotle marinated grilled sirloin steak, served with two cheese enchiladas covered in a huajillo sauce, with a side of a small salad. I personally enjoyed it. the sirloin was cooked perfectly well and the cheese enchiladas were very filling and comforting. Aside from my dish, my friend ordered the Tacos, which consisted of three soft tortilla tacos with the choice of homemade Chorizo, Chicken, or Beef. Topped with cilantro and onions. He ordered the chorizo which was an amazing choice. I enjoy my time here will revisit when I am back in Frenchtown.

Stopped by for lunch on Sunday afternoon while we were in town for the Riverfest that was going on. We arrived around 2:30 and asked to be seated on the patio. We were seated but were not provided menus so we just sat and waited quite a while before someone asked if we were being helped yet. The server apologized for the wait and provided us with a basket of chips and salsa but still no menus as she went to get us some ice water. After she returned with the water we then finally got the menus. We ordered from the lunch menu. 1 beef burrito and 1 chicken chimichanga. After another lengthy wait another server arrived to let us know they were no longer serving the lunch menu and had moved onto dinner and they didn't have the particular burrito on the dinner menu. She also apologized that our server was new and didn't know... So anyway, besides the fact that we arrived well before the end of lunch and I've never heard of a restaurant doing this before we changed our order to 2 chimichangas 1 Beef / 1 Chicken The orders arrived and the food was delicious the chimichangas were fried to a nice crispy golden brown and were accompanied with rice and beans as well as a side of lettuce, tomato, sour cream, and guacamole. We also chose the salsa verde as the accompaniment and that was great as well. When we finished I asked for the check and was presented a check charging for 3 dinners ( Of course no longer the lunch menu prices) I let the server know the check was wrong as we only had 2 dinners... after another brief wait I was again presented with another incorrect check as we were now charged for a burrito and a chimichanga. I let her know this was wrong again as we had 2 chimichanga dinners. This time I gave her my debit card and asked her to just please correct it and charge the card because the sun was so hot and we were there way too long... almost 2 hours and didn't even order an appetizer... I only know the length of time we were there because I went back and reviewed the time of the pictures I took. So anyway what I can say is the food was excellent not 1 single complaint. I'm not sure if this was just an off day service wise but they really didn't seem that busy at that hour but I wouldn't plan to go there unless you have time for a very leisurely paced lunch/dinner

So fucking good everytime I come here and the service is always so good and it's normally quiet I love the little back room it's so cute. I got the tamales and they were so nostalgic and good I wanted to cry with the cheese sauce on top I loved and my boyfriend got the steak. Def have to look for it it's like literally underground but I drive a distance for this place it's worth it

My husband ordered the chicken chimichangas, he enjoyed them at the time but when we got home he was sick and realized he got food poisoning! I ordered the chicken fajitas; they were on a plate (not a sizzling cast iron like most Mexican restaurants) and were pretty bland. The hot sauce helped a bit. I also experienced some stomach pain later on. Lots of flies everywhere which should've been a red flag. 2 stars because the servers were nice and the desserts were actually really good but we won't be going back.

Almost two years ago, we decided we'd give it a try and we were not disappointed. We typically order out as service is slower if you choose to eat in. I'm pretty certain it's a family owned business and the owner is the one taking care of everything; From taking orders to cooking and serving. So yes, service is slower, but food quality is not sacrificed. The day we ate at the restaurant, it got busy and seemed like some other family members were called in to help out. Though it was slower until more help came, we still loved our food. Now on to the food, we haven't had a bad meal from here! We love their rice! I always order their chile rellenos with cheese (highly recommend) and my husband loves their burritos. As other reviews say, the red salsa is HOT, so be prepared. But their green salsa is the perfect mix of flavor and heat. The guacamole is to die for! It doesn't get any fresher than El Molcajete's and contains all fresh ingredients. On top of that, it's served with fresh made tortilla chips (not packaged ones). This a hidden little gem in Flemington for quality Mexican Cuisine! Highly suggest you give it a try!!!

Well, everything has changed. I ordered the chicken fajitas with no peppers, only to be told that they coudn't accomodate that request. Apparently they don't cut their own onions & peppers anymore, it comes in as a mix. I'm sorry, but if someone orders no peppers, accomodate them. The fajitas came out not sizzling and stuck to the cast iron skillet. Chicken was lukewarm so it was sitting in the kitchen for a bit. The tortillas used to be in a basket wrapped in a napkin to keep them warm & soft. Not anymore. They came on the skillet with the lukewarm chicken & they were hard around the edges. More evidence of food just sitting around. I loved the chicken fajitas there, that place was what made me even like fajitas. Unfortunately, they have lost me as a customer. They've even changed the way the do the tortilla chips. I don't think they're homemade anymore. They taste like they were dumped out of a bag into a basket. I'm sure these decisions were made to save money. Well, in an attempt to save money, you have sacrificed the quality of the food. Horrible!!!!!
