Upgrading my review - it's really a great place for berries. We came on opening day today for…read moreu-pick strawberries and it was amazing. Fields were filled with ripe berries, each row was well maintained with hay and no weeds, and the prices were reasonable ($2.50 per pound). We loaded up on Hoods, which were super tasty. We'll be back!

I go to check in and the guy saw we have the same baskets (from Hoffman) and asked if we want more. We said sure and he threw a basket at us. We asked if there was anything we needed to know. Guy said "nope, you are all good" Go berry picking. See there are rows with orange fencing, which means do not pick here. Pretty obvious. There are blueberries, strawberries, blackberries, marion berries, tay berries, etc. Went to pick blueberries (please mind you, not fenced off) and after getting almost a whole bucket of beautiful blueberries, grandpa on the train honked and screamed at me "NO BLUEBERRIES. NOT OPEN" to which I asked how would I know? He threw his had at me and didn't answer. I didn't understand. Maybe he thought the check in told us not to pick blueberries? But the guy didn't. Thought they were fenced off? I don't know. Pretty odd to be screaming at a customer and not answer them back. We have been going to Hoffman for forever but will be going to another farm due to poor treatment to paying customers. (I have inserted a picture of a sign that says "u-pick fields are closed" at the beginning of the sign, which would mean u-pick is closed? No sign or rope on the other side of field. Sign is easy to miss and if you cannot read English, not obvious that those rows are closed) (Inserted checkin table that does not state anything about what berries are closed) Berries are good. Only reason for 2 stars otherwise 1.

The alpacas were so cute, and the person explaining the alpacas to us was so kind in answering all of our questions. If you're ever in need of some alpaca-warmth, this is a good place to come experience that.

So when we arrived, I ran the door bell on the gift shop door (per instructions on the door) and a very nice lady came out from the office. I asked her if it was possible to feed some alpacas and she said yes. I bought two little sandwich size bags of small pellets for $5 each. All of us (6 adults) was able to feed the very friendly alpacas. They do not bite as they only have bottom teeth. They eat the pellets right from your hand. There were also a few baby alpacas you can feed. Just as another reviewer wrote - they are affiliated with a non-profit organizer and work with Peru to save the alpacas. Alpacas are adorable animals and I'm so glad we visited this farm. There is a little gift shop where you can buy all kinds of alpaca products but we ran out of time - we had so much fun feeding the alpacas. I highly recommend this as a pit stop and you'll learn all about them while feeding them.
