I and my family have been buying our dogs food here for years. I miss Jenny working there she was amazing and sweet. She was all about customer service and understanding and multitasking. This new guy that's been working there is rude. Makes me hold this huge bag while still talking to this lady in front of me for 5 minutes. It's heavy and I have issues. So a month later my man goes in there to buy the same bag we usually get. He has back issues and put it on the counter while the other person talks and shops more he got rude back and wouldn't let him buy dog food. This is terrible service. I live very close by and I'm disgusted by the employees of this place on a regular now. I guess I will have to drive further and get my dogs food else where since this rude ass guy will still have his job and get away with treating people like this. He shouldn't be on a customer service position if he can't do customer service. I might not be able to lift things on the regular but I'm a customer service rep and have been for a long time. read more

Had my first visit to Aloha Feed Garden & Pet yesterday after inheriting 12 chickens with a new home and having zero background taking care of chickens. So after doing some research on "caring for chickens" I headed into Aloha FG&P with my list of items to purchase and questions to ask! The staff was very friendly and helpful even loading up the bag of crushed oyster shells for me and loading up a bag of hay scraps that had fallen off the bales after they saw the size of my little car. There was no way I could walk out of there with a bale! If we decide not to keep the chickens (still up in the air) it sounds like they will take them off our hands (three at a time) to give away. This is a relief! I'll be going back to get more feed when they've run out and am glad to have this place as a go to for any questions I (most definitely) will have moving forward. read more

If you need a bale of hay, or other farm type supplies, this is a good place to go. They usually have good quality orchard grass, timothy hay, alfalfa and other hay type bales for a good price. The owner and staff are always friendly and courteous. They look at us funny when they see our jetta and then look at the bale of hay we're going to stuff into the trunk. But, like I said, very nice. They let you go into the storage area to check out the different types of hay and will wheel out whatever you're purchasing (hay, seed, etc) to your vehicle. They are usually catering to people w/farms and horses not apartment dwellers w/only 2 bunnies. We really like them, but I'm only giving them 4 stars instead of 5 b/c they sell unaltered (not neutered/spayed) pet rabbits. There are so many rabbits at the various humane societies in this area, that's it's just not cool to add to the problem. These rabbits will probably sit in a small hutch outdoors instead of being kept as indoor family pets. If they are indoors, since they are unaltered and not quite fully grown, they will get purchased b/c they are cute. But once they hit puberty, they will start spraying and possibly get dumped at a humane society or, even worse, illegally dumped outdoors somewhere. :( Rabbits are easily litter box trained and are great companion animals, especially once they're spayed/neutered. The fate of the rabbits here will most likely not be a happy one. Sorry for the rant. Anyway, really nice people, really nice quality hay. The end. read more

I love an old school feed store and that is what this is. Local people, running their own shop. They have bails of hay and straw, unusual dog toys, rabbits, pigeons (aka Italian Owls), and lots of horse stuff like brushes, and bridals. Dog food, cat food, bully sticks, bird feed by the pound, dog treats, old school scales to weigh on, little plastic animals for kids, various hardware under the counter, dog bed liners, and just lots of stuff. They are kind of behind Burger King on TV Hwy. Alexander would be the street closest to the feed store........all in Aloha, OR. read more

I have come here off and on for a year. Usually for alfalfa cubes for my horse clients, but since i moved to the area its been more frequent. I have just got a new dog and he is a chewer! never had an agressive chewer before, the staff here has been awesome with suggestions and honest if they just dont know. I have taken back a couple toys that have been designed for heavy chewing that he went thru in a couple hours and they take the toy back and exchange it for a different one no questions. I am no on day 4 with this bone they reccommended and so far so good! Their prices are not bottom deal but the fact they have honest staff that takes the time to work with you makes their customer service well worth it. Also they carry canidae so why go to petsmart at all? They have a solid customer now! Thank you! read more

I've gone to Aloha Feed at least once a year if not more often, since 1977 when I lived on Alexander St, just down the road. I was amazed then at the variety of things they have there..from peeper chicks to onion sets, Aloha Feed and Grain is a great old style feed store. I've bought my garlic and onion sets from them every year, as well as basic blood and bone meal--additions I make to our Oregon clay soil when planting. This shop is a rarity, it's an independent store and thus stocks what the customers buy yearly...and thats great IMO. If you're on the west side, and wanting a weekend drive, check this store out..it's behind a restaurant, which has changed names several times in the past 30+ years..Alexander St is the street to the north of T.V. Hwy, but you can cut thru the parking lot from the restaurant. A wonderful old timey place to pick up things like garlic and onion and planting ammendments. I love this spot! read more

I have bunnies and it's really hard to find proper hay for them to eat, that I trust is healthy for them, the regular pet stores don't really provide the healthy options for your pets! We love this local feed store. I can get rabbit food there much cheaper then a Petco or Petsmart. They have my dogs favorite dental chew as well. We also love looking at the rabbits they have there as well. Most of all though the staff is AWESOME. They always offer to carry things out for me. This is still my go-to pet food center and it is still Kai's favorite store. She still tries to turn up the walk way when we pass this place on our walks. Last time we were here, she got to pick out a toy and she carried it all the way home. Good girl. I still think that this has the best price for the dog food brand that we buy for our fur babies. In fact, I buy most of my pet things here. If you're keen on dressing up your dog, you'll want to check out other stores. This is for your down-to-earth, I-want-to-roll-in-mud kind of dogs. This may sound a little extreme, but small businesses dont have it easy today, constant competition with big box stores that couldnt care less about what they sell as long as they make a profit. Towns that all look a like with streets lined with Starbucks and Target stores, 7-11's and 30 fast food restaurants for every one mom and pop place. Great customer service, and its every time I've been here, not just with a one valet experience, you can get with some stores. Best chicken food, scratch n peck, the only food I can feed both my ducks and chicken and never have sick birds or birds that do not lay. Easily ferments or fodders too if you pen your birds. One stop shopping for most pet basics, urban farmers, or even small rural farms. They've given me free and sound advice on my chicken scaly mite bug problems, so they really are knowledgeable in poultry... I appreciate that enough to return here as needed for dog, cat, bird food, bug control, sound advice and I've bought dog boosters here though it long ago. Great local fed store. read more

So, when this was owned by the father, it was a very friendly, and customer centered business. However, I just got back from my first visit with the new ownership (the son). I asked about the 3 (three) dollar coupon, but they refused to give me the credit for that $ 3.00 (three) dollar coupon, becuase I failed to bring it in. I guess it really didn't matter that I was buying nearly $100.00 in retail product, they wouldn't even budge. I asked them if these coupons were in current circulation in the daily newspaper, and other publications like the nickle adds. The son told me that they were currently in circulation, but because I didn't bring one in, I wouldn't be getting the three dollar discount. He claimed they needed the actual coupn for "tracking purposes". I asked if they were "serialized" (each coupon having it's own unique number). He told me they weren't, but, that they tracked them anyway, and I wasn't entitled to the three dollar discount. I understand that technically I did in fact forget to bring it in, but I can assure you that his father would have said "no problem...it's only newsprint...an advertisement...to entice customers to come in", but NOT THE SON. So I simply returned about $40.00 (fourty) dollars (retail) worth of product, and took only what I absoutley needed, until I could talk to Max (the father), who actually desired my business. I figure he lost more than the $ 3.00 (three) dollars worth of profit, and I saved $40.00 instead of just three. Some people simply don't understand that in retail businesses, the owners need to work with the clients. I spent around $100.00 each and every month in that store, and although I will miss it, I think the bigger picture is more important. It was more important to the son, to let me know, that he is in charge NOW, and he makes the rules. FIne... he can make the rules, as he should, after all it is his business. I however vote with dollars, and I am not willing to spend my money in a place where my business is really just a inconvenient problem. Did I mention that I was paying with cash (dead presidents), which would have more than made up for the three dollars he would have had to pay in visa fees. So if you go...take your coupon...and pay with a visa card, so "sonny" learns the lesson, that "pissing off/ON customers, not really the best business model, and in the end, will cost you much more. He not only lost $40.00 of sales, he very well may have lost a monthly customer who spent more than $1,000 in his store last year. Was the extra three dollars really worth it think beyond today, all retail bsinesses are "RELATIONSHIP" businesses. Lots of store-fronts have product (including Amazon), I want to feel welcomed and valued, and not like I am some kind of a low-life scumbag, who is bothering him with my silly demands. IT DIDN'T GO VERY WELL. My wife was so pissed, she left, and said we're never going back. I'll talk to Max (who occasionally spends time down there) since he's lamost certainly carrying his son's "buyout contract". It's really too bad, but I can't allow myself to be treated that way, by some kid, whose still wet behind the ears. His father would be very sad to learn how I was treated after 8 years of spending 1K each year. THREE FREAKING DOLLARS, ON A HUNDRED DOLLAR ORDER...good for him. Enjoy that three dollars. Net-net, I'm pretty sure you had more than three dollars proft in the $ 40.00 dollars I returned to stock. "Tracking...give me a GIANT BREAK. Born at night...just not last night. As an accountant, his reasoning is garbage, and myself, and everybody else at the counter KNEW-IT!! Bad Carma. Mama says NO MORE, WE'll see what Max has to say about my experience. Hopefully Max will set him straight. Very sad to take that attitude, and his son KNEW I was a regular customer too!!! Right now he's living off of his fathr's legacy, but that will soon end, and he'll simply be judged on how HE treats his clients, as oppsed to how his father treated folks, which was very damn well, and with an abundance of friendly and ejoyable talk. I took my $300 4 cycle weed trimmer in to get it repaired at aloha feed. The guy that does the repairs said that it would take him 3 weeks to get the parts. I contacted him a month later and he said that he was still working on it. This went on month after month for 9 months and he never got it fixed. Finally I called and said that I was going to take it somewhere else to get it repaired. I told him that I was going to come in and pick it up. When I picked it up it was missing half of it's parts. I told the girl at the counter that I wanted the rest of it and she said the guy that does small motor repair wasn't there(that was always the case). I told her that I wanted him to put it back together so I could come and pick it up later. To this day I still have not gotten my weed eater back. Do not go here!!! They stole my weed eater. I have a 29 year old horse. I have gone to every feed, tack and pet store in the area over the last 23 years to get feed, tack and first aid supplies etc for my horse. The last few years we have had to switch to senior feed for our horse and give her a bit of hay with it. By far the feed and hay at Aloha Feed is consistantly the best we have gotten anywhere. We have never found gravel, weeds or dirt in a single hay bale. 2 years ago I was really afraid our old mare had given up, she just went off her feed and even stopped drinking her water. The owner, who seems to know everything about animals and gardens, suggested another feed that our horse took to much better. Since then she has been in the best health since she was young. We got a guinea pig there too that has done really well on their feed which is always fresh. I like to take the grandkids along when they are visiting me as there are chicks and duckling in the spring. A great local business to support. read more
