Not bad I found a couple things on my shopping list. No one actually greeted me or offered to help in any way until I got to checkout. She seemed friendly and helpful. Everything seemed to be picked over on the day I visited. You never know what you're going to see here. I try to stick with my shopping list. Sometimes I'll see things want or need but I don't buy them on impulse. What I do is I sleep on it. I like this Ross because they always have what I need, but then again, I am not a very picky shopper. Today I came by to pick a pair of shorts that I could wear around at home and a black leather belt. I found a great belt, a Dockers for $9.99, and it was reversible! I came to Ross's right after we had lunch at Applebee's. I saw it just across the way. I manage to come out purchasing a dress and a toy from this location. It wasn't too crowded here in the morning but as we left, it was getting to be more busy for this location. They have a pretty descent selection but not on shorts. I was trying to look for more jean shorts but none were available. Limited selection on certain items I'm looking for. This Ross's wasn't too messy. I actually saw the workers put more stuff out. I came in here mainly to see if they had any of the specialty coffees that they sometimes have for a good price because I was getting low, and completely out of decaf ground coffee. To my surprise they had none. Usually they have some. I was also looking at bed linens to try and find a comforter that I like for a reasonable price . No luck there either. Along the way I happened onto a lavender bathmat for $4.99 which I loved so I picked it up, and some heel cream for only $1.99. Hope it works! The store was in its usual disarray and there didn't appear to be anyone floating around to help. Fortunately I didn't need any. The lady at the fitting room where I tried one item on was very nice. The clerk checking out was pleasant. It was worth the trip in even if I didn't find the two items I was after. I rarely use public restrooms if I can help it but I had occasion to be in this one. The door was very grimey outside and in. The toilet wasn't real clean. The floor, sink and walls had all seen better days. I've been shopping at this Ross location for 12 years and I'm surprised to read the negative reviews. I don't shop at Ross expecting the customer service of Neiman Marcus or Nordstroms but have never had an issue with any of the staff. They may not all greet you at the check out line but that's OK.I shop at Ross for the prices, the nice brands you can sometimes find like Nike, Adidas and Juicy and the bargains. If the shelves or racks are messy it's because shoppers throw things back instead of hanging them. There's only so much the staff can do with hundreds of shoppers all day long. Lots of junk in the store, imo. I go when I want seasonal decor items and don't want to spend much. The throw pillows and art work are good for the purpose intended. Customer service is terrible. I asked for a bag. NO. I asked if I could take the cart out. NO. I asked if they would help me carry the artwork. NO. Security said to bring the car up to the door so I did, assuming when I pulled up he would bring it out to the car. NOPE AGAIN. I had to park the car, in the street, and go in and get my stuff. Oh, Ross! How fun it is to Dress For Less - but only when you find that item like a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow. On this particular trip I was on the hunt for a pair of shoes. My only requirement was really that they not be dress shoes - something more versatile. I know when you are bargain shopping it can be difficult to find exactly what you are looking for so my strategy is to be as open as possible to what I may need and find. On this particular trip my methodology proved to provide excitement as I ended up with a great pair of everyday shoes with some unexpected extra style...and they were priced at under 8 bucks! I was so excited it was like a childhood Christmas. I initially planned to spend $30 for a decent pair of everyday shoes so with my crazy excess of money after my $8 shoes I decided to grab a much needed pair of quality sandals/flip flops (that would potentially last me through excessive summer usage) for $12. All in all I spent $20 instead of $30 and went home with two pairs instead of one for $30. I was a happy camper. Shopping at Ross does come with it's disadvantages and negative experiences. The stores are usually a wee bit unorganized, there are never enough employees to handle check out, and sometimes the listed sizes are blatantly wrong. However, when I'm shopping at a discounted clothing venue I'm surely not expecting a Nordstroms experience. I'm willing and prepared to deal with the negatives in order to find those golden nuggets, like $50 shoes for $8. So, personally, it doesn't really bother me. If you're wanting 5-star service with pristine shopping conditions, simply patronize a 5-star mainstream, highly priced, retail store. With that being said, when it comes to expectations in the Rancho San Diego area, this particular Ross probably falls below what most people are expecting. RSD is a fairly elitist community with a flair for snobby behavior, so the retail stores in the community tend to accommodate that personality. Everything is very clean, stores stay quietly busy and parking lots can be overrun with high end name brand cars like a rat infestation in NYC. The benefit? Large chains like Ross and Kohls take residence and keep their stores at typically higher than expected standards than their identical sister stores in other areas. Unlike with most businesses, I would go out of my way to shop at this particular Ross if Ross is where I wanted to go. THE 3/2/1: 3+: Prices, Name Brand Selection, Cleanliness (compared to other branches) 2-: Long Check-Out Lines, Lack of Adequate Floor Staff 1: Overall, when it comes to Ross stores this is one of the better establishments in San Diego to be a patron because of the selection and cleanliness, however if you want more personalized customer service and don't want to wait in line, perhaps you should try a regular full fledged mall with full priced name brand items. read more

I love Ross stores, but this week I am not a happy camper. Christine the manager in Ranco San Diego could care less about customer satisfaction. I have done a lot of shopping there spending hundreds of dollars. I got a new dog and spent $105...plus. I had a lot to carry out. (Cannot take basket out)) I leaned the dog gate box against the car and must have forgotten and drove off without it. Hoping someone found it and returned it, I went back. Found on the shelf the exact same in a box that looked weathered...same exact SKU. "Too bad ...you bought it, you lost it...sorry." My fault OK. Managers are that, because they have discretionary ability...perhaps a small % off on a replacement....a store credit for half what I lost...something. I think their inventory will be $21.00 to the good, because it got put back in stock. I usually avoid this chain as I'm not a very patient shopper. The long lines, the messy retail and lack of quality service always soured my experiences. Thankfully, it wasn't busy today however, their selection isn't great. I've been to locations with am abundance of choices but I was dissatisfied and left empty handed. I came in looking for a small table/stand I can place a plant or a vase on, a table lamp, and King sized sheets. I found a total of 13 sets of King sized sheets. None of them were higher than 350 thread count and all felt rather thin. Not only that, but the prints were outdated and unflattering. Boo. There were 4 small tables. Two had scratches and the other two were majorly unsteady and wobbly. Double boo. They had 5 table lamps. Two of them were chipped. And not in the shabby chic way, it was chipped in the "it was dropped" way. The other three were much too large. So I didn't find any of those items so instead I browsed and discovered sadly that although they may have a lot of items, they are of poor quality, are chipped or damaged superficially somehow, and are just not asthetically nice. Kind of disappointed in the service today :( I don't actually shop at Ross very often, but last Sunday I went with a friend, as Ross is her go to store, and you have such great deals right now. I was so happy last week to vamp up my closet after loosing some weight and needing a new wardrobe. Due to Covid Ross didn't have the dressing rooms open when I went in so I couldn't try anything on. I had to guess what my new size would be. But I had fun, and everyone who helped me that day was super friendly. If you don't know, but Ross has great prices and discounts on designer brands. They put sales stickers on the original price for marketing. If the sales sticker is not on the tag, Ross' policy is to charge full price, which is reasonable. There were two items I went to purchase that didn't have the tags on them, so I was charged full price. I didn't care, they were super cute and still great steals. So I get home and start trying on the clothes. Not all of them fit, which is fine because Ross lets you return within a period of time. But then I find two items with holes. One was on the seam so I didn't mind fixing it up myself. The other was made of a stretchy material and it was a hole right on the back from the security tag. I was upset because I paid full price for this item as it did not have a tag on it and the hole was from the stores security tag. I called the store right away to explain the situation and see if I could return the item later, as I had prior engagements as well as work during the week. The associate who answered said that would be find and just to bring in the receipt. I'm not able to make it until today (one week later, the following Sunday) due to my crazy work schedule. I went in to return the item and immediately, it was a problem. I told them the whole "tag situation" and they just told me that there was no item looked up, so none were charged full price. Then they asked me if the associated that day had scanned another item in place of that one, which I don't know what they were doing behind the register. Whatever they did, it just seemed to make a big deal and they made me feel as if I was trying to return an old item. They were able to find a solution after I had to plead my case for a few minutes, but they ended up helping me with my return. It was just a hassle and they did not make it as easy as the girl who answered my call made it seem. You would think that with everything going on with covid, not being able to try on the clothes in the store, the return cashiers and or managers would be a little more understanding. read more

Horrible costumer service and even with the manager. I drove long distance and took time off from work to get an item here. My mother told me about an item the night before. She called the day of to double check it was still in stock and confirmed the price with the employee. The employee confirmed the price my mom and sister both saw. When I got there it was marked l up by $80! I talked to the manager about my concern who did absolutely nothing. She told me the employee on the phone looked to the wrong item. This is not true since my mom and sister both saw it the night before with the price the employee told my mom over the phone. Guess I could expect this from Ross. The manager whose name is Apriss or something like that was extremely rude to me. I had a rug to return so i went to this jamacha location. She was the one that called me up to do my return and she didnt greet me. Asked me for my ID which is fine i gave it to her but then she asked me for my ross discount card since i bought the rug when i was still an employee at ross, however im not an employee anymore so i didnt have my card and she seemed annoyed about that. I dont even know why she asked me for my discount card because i have never in my year and a half of working at ross been asked for my discount card for a return. We making up rules now or what? She handed me my receipt after the return and immediately turned around and left without saying anything, leaving the rug literally over the counter still in my hands. I was like um what do i do with this now? And another employee heard me and said she'll take it for me. The manager was rude and definitely an idiot and made me leave all the things i wanted to purchase and leave the store because of the way she treated me. This review is only for the bathroom. Sooooo dirty and filthy ALL the time. I live in Rancho San Diego and have been to this Ross on several occasions. Every single time I have been in the restroom (they only have one toilet, no stalls) it has been beyond disgusting. As far as the rest of the store, it has gotten a lot better since they moved everything around. The place used to be an utter mess, especially the shoe and towel/linen dept. The selection of toddler girls clothing and shoes are very limited, I find a way better selection (especially quality) of clothing and shoes at the Marshalls on Fletcher Parkway. read more

I love Ross I always find the best bargains. I went in a few days ago and was greeted by the customer service associate Ban with a friendly greeting. She looked very elegant and professional. I had a return and she was fast which I love because it gave me more time to shop. The store had many good bargains and an associate with a unique name helped me find the sports leggings that I wanted and made my day.
