It's best to come here early in the morning, esp when they open--otherwise the line in this store wraps around all the way to the back. Sometimes there's not a big line, but lately it seems people all like to come in at the same time, esp right before lunch-afternoon. Been coming here for many years. It's a hit or miss. Customer service is sometimes good, sometimes bad. The store needs to be more organized as some areas are dirty and scattered. My only pet peeve is that sometimes they check you out in a rush and you're barely making a payment and they're already calling the next guest to line up behind you. While still paying the next guest is literally hovering behind you. They give you no time to make payment, before you know it they're already kicking you out the store. read more

Yesterday was my first visit to this location, and unfortunately the worst shopping experience I've had. After work, I went to look for vacation necessities and home decor. And I felt followed by security throughout the store. This made me feel incredibly uncomfortable and unwelcome. Sorry I like to look at each aisle lol. I love this place.. and it was few blocks away from our home.Staff are friendly and very helpful! I came here today brought some stuffs that my daughter bought prizes for my birthday games and because we running out of time we didn't finish all the games... So when I came here not knowing she bought those prizes in other branch of Ross ( Hawthorne) I was so embarrassed but the two ladies , one is under training helped me as much as their can and patiently check all items that I returned because we removed all the tags... Although there is one lady (3rd person) who suddenly pop up and said next time they will not allowing too many items without a tag to return ( I'm not sure if she is the manager ) Any ways it's not stated on their policy how many you can returned though... I understand her frustration but I don't understand is she is not the one who helping me but she is the one who complaining lol!... One of the larger stores currently carrying high inventory. One star off bc it Internally looks like a hot mess. I can't really blame the staff completely as there is a high level of customers browsing and leaving stuff everywhere. I witnessed a lot of kiddos pulling and dropping things. I get it bc I've been a tired mom too but don't blame the store. Staff was neutral providing adequate service not particularly warm and looked taxed but It's an uphill battle. It kind of needs to be a community effort in this particular branch. One bonus star bc I snagged a pair of coach boots. Win for me. read more

I came to this store to purchase a couple items and ended up at the register with a 262.00 receipt for 9 items. The cashier Stephanie ringed me up and held my items while I went back to grab a rug and then came back with three rugs for the total of 49.23 and then asked her for my previous items at that moment she handed me the bags. I then dropped all my bags at the door and went to pull my car to the front. I then loaded up my car and left, by the time I got home I noticed that I was missing a item. I then called the store where the cashier Stephanie answered and told me we forgot the item. I then explained to that I could not see behind the register and that I trusted her to put all the items in the bag and even had to remind her of another bag due to the item that was sticking out the bag. I then spoke to her boss Carmen who was also rude and told me that if I didn't come back today for the item I paid for that it will be put back and that I could just get credit, and also the I get there they would have to run the cameras back to make sure that I purchased the item and didn't receive it. This is after the cashier allready took ownership to the her not giving me the item. In conclusion the service was horrible and I wouldn't recommend anyone to shop here not only is the team members horrible but the upper management sucks as well. read more

This location is close enough to get to when I need simple items or small trinket gifts. I like their selection of kitchenware and home décor...blankets, pillows, etc. I can't speak much on clothes. Racks aren't that well stocked and I don't ever touch the shoes at places like this. But it looks like the typical items at every other Ross. Wow, these former reviews suck, I had the BEST experience ever shopping here at this location and mind you, I have checked out other store locations and the selection here was incredibly amazing I literally shopped from 10 AM until 5 PM because I had to narrow down my choices from $700+ to $250, being on a budget. I used 3 of the items already and they are SUPER worth the price! I am coming back to this particular store because the cashier and manager were extremely patient with me and helped me take out some items, then charge me, return them, then charge me again. My feet hurt and I wanted to sit down and the manager was extremely apologetic. I bought many items from clothes, accessories, even home goods not to mention beauty products. I tried this moisturizer for my face and it is amazing! I won't be going to the malls anymore, that's for sure! Pros: -new store: so it's hardly ever packed. -somewhat organized but their selection is very limited. Cons: Employees/security follow you around the store to make sure you're not shop lifting. As another reviewer wrote, they will make you feel like a shop lifter. I began noticing this when the same security guard would immediately run off (like a cock roach) whenever I turned around and saw him right behind me. I am not a shop lifter nor do I look like one. I've been to multiple Ross stores within the Los Angeles area and this is the only one I've had this experience. Bottom line: The store has potential but it should be under new management and have their employees and security trained better. I won't keep shopping here if they cannot do better with their employees and security team, which is a shame because I do like the location. Its about time they threw a Ross in Gardena! And its not that bad either. The selection here is equivalent to any other ross, but its really clean and parking is plentiful. They always have a great variety on bedding and sheets. I like coming here for home decor too. Prices you can't beat. Way cheaper than pier 1 and home goods but the quality is just as good as homegoods. Some items may be damaged from store wear and tear so definitely examine your items before purchasing! This Ross is never crowded either! Weekends tend to have a bit more traffic but still not as bad as the other locations. Cashiers tend to move very quickly too, they're not the nicest though lol. Stopped by to make a return. I stood in the returns line while the 3 cashiers assisted the purchasing line. There was a lady in the returns/guest service area. She saw me and ignored me. Another lady came by and also ignored me. The 3 cashiers assisted everyone in the purchasing line so one turned off her light and left. Another just walked away while one stayed behind finishing up with another customer. Once I noticed I wasnt gonna be helped standing in the return line I moved over to the purchasing line because more customers were coming to line up. The cashier called me up and asked if I was returning so I said yes and he responded with saying the first lady that ignored me would need to process my return. She came back to the area and did not smile, say hello, hi or anything. As I was pulling product out of the bag to make it easier for her she did "busy work" (dumping sensors from smaller bins to a larger one) and continued as I waited for her to start my return. I tried small talk but I barely got a grin. Let's admit it, the service at ross isn't always great but its bearable. I'm not expecting Nordstrom type of service in this type of place because I'm sure they must have a high turn around rate and why invest time and money training someone that might not be there in a month. Ugh I waited a few days to write this review because I thought I could let it go.
