I've noticed that a particular Reebok dry fit shirt seems to sell for $9.99 for any size, and have learned that it's great to take on trips (easy to hand wash, easy to rinse, quick drying). So noticed that they sold them here too and bought one. Also saw that a comparable Hurley shirt was around the same price, so got one of them too. Both will go into my trip clothing rotation. What's funny is that because the sales tax here is quite a bit lower than where we live (4.5% vs 10.5%), meant it was cheaper to buy it here than in Long Beach. This location had a satisfactory selection of clothing, shoes, home goods, perfumes, electronics, snacks, luggage, and more. Inventory at Ross can sometimes be hit or miss, but this location definitely met expectations. I enjoyed browsing for cost-effective items to bring home. I successfully found a great handful of cute dresses/outfits (especially from the clearance rack), a couple of bottles of perfume, and shoes. A couple of areas were slightly disorganized, with merchandise on the floor, and the store was fairly busy with a bit of a wait. The staff members were friendly and helpful while working to ensure quick efficiency with the movement of the line. This is a silly place to shop in Kauai on vacation but my daughter was looking for a dress for a luau. She didn't have much time and didn't try them on. At the hotel she picked her dress for the evening and figured she'd return the other 2 the next day. Well she got busy with her work the next day and asked me to return them , the. She realized she'd lost the receipt ! I said I'd try. Wasn't sure how a silky tourist would be received without a receipt. I went back to the store and Rey helped me. I explained the situation and he said of course , he'd take care of it. In a minute he's pulled up her info and was my daughter's refund was complete! He is a great employee . My return transaction went smoothly and I decided to go walk around the store as it was pretty quiet and slow in the morning. I have to admit, I LOVE shopping at this Ross Dress for Less location, located at Kukui Grove Mall. It also saved me a few times when I forgot to pack some stuff for my staycation. ( hair bands, brush, bathing suit, slippers, bags, etc) During this recent visit, I took my time and spent a little longer shopping here. I got to browse the store, during the other visits, It was a rush. I saw some good stuff that I don't remember seeing at the Oahu Ross or it could be that its been a very long time since I last shopped at Ross. They have some great food selections, ( many varetes of ramen,Korean rice cake, S & B curry, they even have Vietnamese grocery items Pho noodles and rice paper) Even HOKA shoes, although not the right size for hubby, that is a great deal at $79.99. I enjoyed my shopping , got lots of great stuff and to got out of there before I end up buying more, actually it was lunch time. I love the huge ROSS shopping bags, love the different designs and at only .99 cents, I usually grab this to carry my other shopping stuff, the plane. At the check out, I noticed they have this sauce set from Bushwick kitchen, $9.99 for the entire set of sauce, I wanted to try it but wasn't sure if I was going to check in a bag. The next day I decided to check a bag in so I asked my hubby to stop at Ross, I got the set of sauce. I checked the website and they are selling that same set for $49.99, Wow. major savings! I am so glad I went back to get that. I can't wait to use them! Ross is hiring, the lines can get long. During both visits they only have 1 or 2 cashiers ringing on both sides. Ross has always been a favorite to find fun treasures at great prices. I've shopped Ross in Kona, Orange County, CA stores and San Diego, CA stores. I can honestly say this is my favorite Ross store. The staff are always friendly and good at their jobs. Hats off to Manager Sheila. The store is usually very neat and things in their proper places. And, we all know they have awesome low prices. OK so no matter what state I go to I always make my way to Ross. I managed to find too much stuff. I had to buy another bag to get everything back home. Normally Ross has stuff all over the place and can sometimes be very disorganized. But not this one... Clean and organized. What I did notice is no matter the size everything seem to be small. Might have just been this store idk. Prices on something's were a little more expensive but not too bad. Bottom line is they got a lot of my money lol. read more

This Ross has tons of product to dig through - that said I spent an hour here and found nothing that wowed me until I was walking out. Of all the things I tried on I didn't like anything but the two items I grabbed on the way out without trying on ended up being just what I needed. Of all the thousands of shoes they have I was disappointed that there wasn't one pair of shoes that spoke to me. They had a cute pair but not in my size - I took a photo and ordered them online from the manufacturer so that was a plus. Associates were friendly but they had to keep announcing that the second register was open on the other side to keep lines down on the one main entrance side. Of course when I went to the other side it was no longer open. Sigh. read more

Horrible customer service! Yesterday I had an exchange and went to the return line as soon as I got in the store. The girl at the register told me to take the item with me if I was going to shop, so I did. When I was checking out I informed the cashier that I had something to return, she immediately told me to go in the return line and that she could not do returns. I informed her that the girl at the return register told me to take the item with me and that I could return it when I checked out. Both looked at me like "oh well" and never apologized for the mistake that was told to me. They just said go to the other cashier although I had already placed my items on the table. Stupid me decided to go back there after I waited in line while two employees just stood there conversing about their lives outside of work. When I said something about it neither apologized. This Ross not only holds a variety of brands I have back home but also many Hawaiian suvinours. I ended up purchasing two mugs to take back home. The suvinours they have you can get almost anywhere but if you are already here I would recommend you grab some. Service: The service from Lucy was amazing, she helped us the second time we came. Very, very, very frustrated. Used to come to Ross, and get a sweet pair of shoes for $25. Now, the shelves are bare... The managers, they don't care. I dropped my shit and got outta there. We were visiting Kauai on a family trip when Ross had it's grand opening weekend! It was an odd turn of events during our trip as two of my children lost their swimsuits on two separate occasions. On one trip my husband found my son a great pair of very fashionable swim shorts for super cheap! The second trip was not as successful for my daughter as they didn't have anything in stock. One of the managers told us that Ross stocks all their items seasonally so being as it was Fall, no swimsuits were coming in. Someone should tell the Ross buying department in the Mainland that we're in Hawaii where its always Summer! Although we only had 50% success the workers here were really nice and this brand new store looks great! Just left all of the stuff we were going to buy at the counter. I was shopping and my boyfriend was sitting on a couch waiting for me when a lady comes up and says "you're going to need to move. This is not a seating area. There's a place you can sit outside." She was dressed in red so I assume she was a manager or something (definitely not a loss prevention person). I think her name was Stella? Anyway, we both work in customer service and know how it is to have a bad day or deal with a difficult customer, but we were not in any way creating a disturbance or damaging products or otherwise being destructive. I've been to Ross in Seattle, All over Cali, Las Vegas, Oregon, and every one in the State of Hawaii. We finally have a Ross! I am beyond excited and happy. I went and of course it was a little empty. They had their grand opening a few weeks before. But what they did have, it was a good selection. Almost absolutely no toys, but I wasn't looking for toys. Their deals are always good. Reasonable, more than other places. Workers don't need to be so rude. I was shopping with my mom and we paid separate. As I was done checking I told my mom to come over. However, the worker got upset because she did not call my mom over and told my mom she needed to wait to be called because the return line is more of a priority than people buying. And it wasn't even the lady that was checking us out, this was a lady who just came around the register side and told us. It was my mistake to call my mom over but the lady didn't need to speak so rude and making us feel like our check out wasn't a priority for them. I know its a minor thing to complain about but when workers are like that it just ruins your shopping experience. read more

We've been to several Ross over the years and this one is not much different. This particular department store is a little more messy. The workers are nice enough though there does not seem to be enough of them. The prices are pretty high but it is to be expected given the location. We were able to buy a decent pair of cheap-headphones for our flight home. There is really nowhere else on the island that you can buy electronics except Walmart or Costco. read more
