I had left a review 9 days ago but I'm sure the manager deleted it. Her employee here was refusing to sell me something on clearance after the employee Jessica who was my cashier started being worried because she thought I had called her a Bxtch. She instantly refused to service me which is against the law. You have no right to refuse service to me. Again I went to go pay for my stuff which was ok clearance 3.99 tell me why she was running it up for 10$ only because I was on a budget I told her off and she got mad and retired to refuse service I asked for someone else to attend me she also refused I called out for a manager 3 x she also refused and she thought I was going to leave her register after she neglected me and discriminated me. She wouldn't call the manager so I yelled out for the manager and even the security came to try to intimidate me to leave, but I'm not stealing I'm trying to purchase something and she couldn't even tolerate me. Finally the manager comes and I ask for the employees name the manager also lies to my face stuffers a fake alias said her name was Jennifer but the water bottle on her desk said JESSICA !!!!! I will not let you keep deleting my reviews. They scare people here over charge people and disrespect customers. They have hired unprofessional and ignorant employees. I refuse to ever come shop here and I hope they fire the manger for being a conniving liar to my face trying to save her employee from getting fired oh make as many reviews as I need to. read more

I have been to this store so many times and I always see like the horrible reviews but I go anyway because it's close to where my daughters live and we sometimes wanna stop by and see what we can get but I'm just gonna say that the service is horrible. We're at the jewelry counter for like 15 minutes waiting to be helped and associates are just passing by going through the counter, joking around and laughing and just totally ignoring the fact that the bell has been ringing for 15-20 minutes and they're just chatting away and totally ignoring you. Which is why they probably have two stars because the service is so I just so bad. read more

the two women in the fitting room need to learn how to talk to customers. they are rude and disrespectful. when i asked them a simple question about the restroom she walked away giving me a half ass answer. Linda the manager at the moment i hope you address it because i spoke up, imagine how many others they've made feel the same way i did. if they simply don't like their job they shouldn't work there. they were talking about the mess there was in the store and how long it was going to take them to close. when i confronted both of them they started speaking spanish and said i should be thankful she let my niece use the bathroom and when i replied in spanish she looked shocked i understood what she said. once i took out my phone the other lady hid behind the rack. if you ladies read this be better, treating someone less than doesn't make you a bigger person. read more

Ross located at Vernon and Figueroa, has one of the worse customer a service I have experienced. Also, it closes at anytime they decide. I have experienced a couple of times when the store should be closing at 10:00pm and by 9:15pm they are asking to finish shopping since the store would be closed at 9:30pm ( sign on door clearly notes that store hours are to 10:00pm). Last but not least, to obtain services at jewelry takes so long l, that is if you ever get someone to assist you. read more

I went there with my baby and needed help opening the doors since I was carrying my baby in a stroller and was alone, the security didn't help me whatsoever. They're just there to say hi and thats it. Bad service. And when I was leaving I was carrying a lot of bags too, they saw me struggling with the door and didn't even bother to help me out, AGAIN. read more

This is the dirtiest Ross I have ever been to, items all over the floor, kids running all over/under the racks , sliding around likes it a playground. I used to love coming here when I was in college. The prices are cheap and the quality is pretty good. Its in the hood so you cant really expect it to be top of the line or anything but its fine. Never really had a problem with the people who worked there. Its unkept in the sense that theres a bunch of clothes everywhere because they seem to be so understaffed and the line to buy stuff is always long when you figure out what you want. I dont know if thats to keep prices down but that was my only real complain - long lines. Other than that I dont think theres a better place to get good urban clothes at cheap prices in this area. read more

I've enjoy coming to this store because it's in my neighborhood and it hires local folx. Hence, 2 stars. However, I came in on a typically busy Friday and they only had 2 cashiers working. I patiently waited in line for a significant amount of time, assuming that others may have been on break and/or lunch. After about 35 minutes, I asked the manager if they were planning on opening another register soon because the line, at that point, was about 50 ppl long and looped around the store. A loss prevention man interrupted his response and yelled, "this is all we have." I questioned the absurd number of loss prevention people just standing around store. Is it ghetto? Duh! It's in South Central! Get real people! I personally think it's okay. Their selection is average but obviously if you go to Ross you have to have the time to search in order to find something pleasing. It's pretty organized and I've never had any problems. You're buying stuff that's over half off so don't expect the best customer service, cleanliness, or no wait time. However, if you want such things, I suggest to drive a little further out of the "hood". Some may say it's the worse store ever but others count on it to buy clothes and shoes for their kids, and I'm sure they're not the ones on Yelp complaining. Ross is truly about the bargains and people love it. I suggest to give it a shot but definitely make sure you have time to spare because the line can be pretty long on weekends, perhaps a 15-25 minute wait, excluding the holidays of coarse. I didn't even know this Ross was here until I moved south of USC. They don't have a selection of clothing that suits my style (as a 20-something year old grad student). I haven't experienced it being disorganized. The store seems clean and the dressing rooms are fine. There can be a line at the cash register though. I probably had to wait 10 minutes last time. If this Ross is convenient to your location and you have time to spare, I'd check it out. It's hit or miss. Don't have high expectations and you won't be disappointed. read more

No one ever goes to Ross expecting grandeur, but yikes. It seemed like these aisles were more narrow than usual (and of course, people took their shopping carts into the aisles; the only way to get past is to crawl under the racks), there were more items on the floor than I'm used to, both in the clothes and shoes departments, 15-20 people were in line waiting to buy their goods, not enough employees present, etc. The dinginess level was about average for a Ross. Being a Ross, the prices were great and you can certainly get a lot for your money, but yeah...it's a Ross. And a run-down one. read more

Wow. I used to think the Ross on Alvarado was bad, but this one definitely beats them all. The store wasnt crazy busy, but the cashiers are incredibly slow. Really horrible store. I came in to make a return. The store was in shambles !!! Clothes, shoes, and any other item you can think were on the floor. There were like 50+ people waiting in line an only 3 cashiers!!!! WTF! I was really pissed when I asked one of the cashiers where the return line was. She responds, "oh, it's only one line." (mind you I was only returning ONE ITEM !) Most of the other Ross stores have a separate line. This store is completely ridiculous because they don't ! I then proceeded to get in the army line of customers where I waited almost 30 minutes until I was helped. I got to the register and explained that I did not have my receipt. The whole reason I was returning the dress was that in had a ink stain on the inside of the dress, yet it was on the rack for sale. Why wasnt this item put into reject or something??? Anyway, the cashier told me she couldn't give me my money back. I was already fuming because I had to wait in that ridiculous line. So, I asked for the manager. Some guy comes over who is clearly NOT the manager and tells me , " oh it won't do it. We can't ." I then asked for the manager again and they admit she isn't there. I take a stupid store credit even though that's the last thing I want from this hell hole. I will be calling the manager in the morning I would like my money back !!!! I have to say this Ross has potential in they're inventory. I'm a local and always come for a last minute "just to look around" and walk out with a purchase of $100 bucks. I love the home section they always have good pieces. Also baby clothes and bedding. Overall I like this Ross. The only down part is the long lines to checkout. Try to come during weekdays better luck to find good things. read more

WHY I WONT RETURN. On a very hot day in California the loss prevention member Eiling didn't know how to deliver the fact that drinks aren't allowed. Discretion is important if you are in any fashion working with the public and ensuring not to offend customers. The out side of the facility is filthy and the inside looked to be a reflection.
