Well, you can't go wrong with a special occasion dress for $6.49. Purchased something very similar at department store on sale for $80.00. Found a good deal on 2 bird houses too. They have one person checking customers out and a second person checking receipts at the exit. The recruit checker is about four feet from the check out counter and can obviously see the customer has paid. It would make more sense to have the receipt checker actually help customers. Today I had a horrible experience shopping at Ross in Morgan hill CA. My son accidentally knocked over some empty storage bins displayed in front of the fitting room. The fitting room staff told my three year old son "You better put it back how you found it" I said "I'm sorry he is only three." This elder gentleman would not let it go and continued to harass talk down to us. I let him know I'd be speaking to a manger his response "Spell my name right!" So this is for ARTHUR in the fitting room department please be more respectful to customers and have common courtesy for small children. read more

The entitlement and arrogance of the retail workers here had me flabbergasted. Over the course of my shopping trip I had two out of three encounters that just left me completely speechless about how the workers here treat their customers with such negativity and disrespect. This store is by far the worst I've been to. Management sucks here. I was there 2 days ago, shopping for fun and I had already chosen a couple items and was ready for check out. Wait time in line was 20 minutes. Ridiculous. The lady on register two was on the phone on speaker phone with her daughter. Saying she was late she was late. Then as that was happening the line got longer. I was called up next and the lady at the register all of a sudden decides to help a guest on jewelry when she was the one who called me up. So I patiently waited. 5 minutes passed by- I was okay that's decent.... another 5 - I was getting frustrated. I waited a little longer and I walked out. I have been to several Ross and my impression is always the same...ghetto. Some location better than others but still gives me the ghetto feeling. This location in particular is located in a not so nice shopping plaza within an old apartment complex, Dollar Tree store, empty stalls, liquor store and a Vietnamese resto. They have done a good job trying to make it nicer than the old DD's store but it still ain't cutting it. If you look hard enough you can find good deals. I went a while ago with my older brother to look for a universal remote since that Hellmart off of Cochrane surprisingly did not have one. To myself and my older brother's surprise, the Ross did in fact have a universal remote. The woman who helped us, Stormi if I remember correctly, was very nice in helping us look for it. I later found out that my cell phone can be used as a TV remote, but regardless, it was a nice visit. Would definitely come back again. read more

I always shop at this ross location because the place is convenient for me. The staff is always nice when coming in saying hi or hello. But earlier today when i wanted to try on 6 items of clothing, i went towards the fitting room and saw a younger lady. I showed her my items and she demandingly said with no eye contact or saying hi or hello..."PUT YOUR CLOTHES ON THE RACK!" as she pointed on the rack beside me. I was surprised on how this lady rudely said it but anyway i put the clothes on the rack. She then inspected each shirt VERY VERY carefully like inside out, back and front. she even looked at my clothes I was wearing, up and down if i had any merchandise on me. after that, without saying anything, she just pointed towards the mens fitting room door and said "OVER THERE!" i was like wow maybe she was in the marines or something or just doesn't like her job... When i was finished, she did the same thing when i came out. INSPECTED EVERY SINGLE LITTLE THING LIKE I STOLE SOMETHING! Well Thank you very much for making me feel like a criminal. I'm not going here expecting great customer service (though that's all the experience I've had here with the staff, very friendly, nice, helpful people), I'm going here to find cool stuff at crazy awesome prices! I come here routinely for inexpensive new clothes, and the service, quality, and selection at this Ross are fantastic. Service matters a lot to me. Ross's personnel greet me every time I enter the store, and say goodbye when I leave. The clerks are honest, and in the years I've come here, have never once made a "mistake" with my change ;). Once, the dressing room guard even let me stay longer after closing time--- so I could try on a dress for an important occasion. Most importantly, the staff doesn't follow you around or pressure you to buy things. The prices are as reasonable as the employees, and I appreciate that too :). Quality-wise, the clothing here is exceptional. If you can look past the location and boxy store shape, you'll find that this Ross routinely stocks marked-down brandname goods (i.e. Calvin Klein and Ralph Lauren.) The materials the clothes are made of (cotton, etc) is generally higher-quality that what you would get for the same price at the nearby shopping malls or big-box stores. I recently purchased some evening and work dresses here, and found the stitching was very intricate and precise, too... not sloppy or rough. "Ross" seems like the place where designers send goods that don't sell in their outlet stores. This Ross has a huge selection: many name brands under one roof. The store is a smorgasbord of various designers tossed together, with tons of different fashion styles and themes. Although Ross stocks affordable basics (belts, ties, single color t-shirts), my favorites are the offbeat "weird" pieces that you won't find at "regular" stores like Target or WalMart. I found some rare gems while sifting through the goods. On my last visit, I found a very well-sewn 60s-style violet cocktail dress with very intricate tiny black glass bead detailing that looked straight off the set of "Mad Men." Price? Under $15. I also got a "beachy" striped mini-dress for under $10. Shopping at Ross is like shopping at a really well-equipped vintage boutique: the goods aren't always in plain site, but they are present if you look for them. Also, as far as bedding and dorm or office decor goes... this is a one-stop shop. Lots of good-quality bedding, paperweights, and shelving *_* Conclusion: Don't judge a book by its cover, this is one of the best places to buy clothes in Morgan Hill. The clerks or associates as many stores like to be called are void in being able to carry out simple tasks. How difficult is it to watch a cart when you only have ONE to watch? Apparently, it is very difficult. You once in a while, while your guest, as you now call customers, tried on 3 garments. If in fact customers are guests, and clerks are associates Ross should hire those capable of handling such tasks. Pitiful, we have a generation that feels showing up at employment means they are entitled to be paid. Why are the stores and employers training employees on their tasks? Perhaps the management feels the same about showing up means they deserve to be paid. Whether or not we as a society like it Amazon is going to put these businesses out of business. Then we will have more unemployed and getting paid to play on phones or tablets. I have other news for those under 40. It is not quality of time over quantity. How are you teaching your children responsibility in 5 minutes a day. Do you really need 2 cars, new phones, 30 clothing outfits, dinners out? Cut back the so call needs and teach your children. Talk to them, play store with them, teach them to count money in their heads. You had these children, raise and teach your children and perhaps they will learn they are capable of doing multiple tasks... example: hang up.cloths while standing next to a cart with planned customer purchases. The girl that was working, kept complaining she needs to leave by 5 or she will have to take another lunch. Kept talking to whoever on the walkie ralkie, rambling over and over about it. If you dont like your job, quit. Everyone is already irritated in a long line, we don't need to hear your negative attitude to boot. I love Ross in general, they have really great stuff for the price! Need a new bedding set on the cheep they got it. Need a casual dress that won't break the bank done. They also have a lot of great priced house hold necessities like cups, plate settings and alike. But like all Ross stores you can expect to stand in a line you would only expect during the Christmas shopping season only difference is you can get that holiday cheer long line feeling here all year round. This has been the case at every Ross I have been in and this store is no exception. There was an older male employee at the register who clearly saw us waiting and he continued to load empty hangers from under the counter to a moveable rack. When I got to the fitting room there was a lady there that was looking @ some clothes that were there, I honestly didn't pay much attention because to me it didn't seem like she worked @ Ross. So I precede to walk in into the fitting room. I was half way in to go into a fitting room when I hear some one yelling to wait, so I stopped and turned around she snatched the basket out of my hand as if I was going to run from her. When I told her she didn't have to be so rude she denied being rude and acted like it was a burden to do her job. I will never return to this store.
