If you are like me, you go to stores to help you with a stressful day to look around then avoid this specific store because this location will give you stress. Every customer is treated like a thief. So the irony of this specific store is that they have their Ross sheriffs (loss prevention) close to the registering looking when customers pay and right away they ask to see your items and receipt. The irony is that the store is so dirty and unorganized and the cashiers themselves treat the merchandise like garbage. So when you are paying be prepare to have the loss prevention staring at your transaction super closely, super comfortable right, then if you encounter someone like Kimberly, the cashier, be ready for your items to be toss around like trash, she does not believe in folding any of the clothes and will toss your clothes like if she is handling her own chonis when doing her laundry... funny but is not an exaggeration... then you are barely putting your money away and trying to carry your bags and the cashiers will be calling the next customer and to make things even better, you will have loss prevention help you because you are being too slow to them. I'm not sure what is their philosophy behind treating customers like that? it makes the entire process uncomfortable and it makes you question their ethical practices. If you want to ruin your day, come here and get your Oceanside Ross experience. I think that this location, their staff forgets that they have a job because of customers spending money. In order for such liability to exist, the employee must have been acting within the duties of their job at the time of the accident. On Oct 1st I shopped at Ross on Vista way. I purchased 3 pairs of leggings. 2 of those leggings had security tags. After the purchase I got home and didn't try them on on Next day while trying to wear one pair of leggings I experienced a sharp pain that felt like. Knife stab or a bite As soon as I pulled my hand out I saw the security tag inserted in my middle finger and I was mortified I pulled the needle part of it out and bled Having a compromised immune system I immediately contacted my physician I cleaned my wound and since I had my tetanus shot all I can do I wait and hope no infections come my way ROSS did not take my injury seriously , I did not hear from the store manager and I am convinced they do not train employees, noranagers regarding injuries Finally today I again tried to track down their third party injury reporting and I was successful in filing a claim When organizations refuse to pay attention to their costumer no matter how in significant a problem is, they should listen The biggest cost for them is law suits Yet they haven't learned . This is about accountability , social responsibility , following policies , and so much more . Saturday 1/11/25 4:30-5pm This is the second time these past few weeks I was shopping at Ross. I am trying to replace clothes we recently lost in a house fire. If it weren't for the very nice lady at checkout, Latanya, I would give just 1 star. She definitely put a smile on our faces and even had us laughing. Shes great! But once again the belligerent fitting room woman was there and this time she was rude to my daughter and mom as well. I don't know why she feels the need to pick fights with people when it could be a simple "how many clothes do you have?" And she gives us a number. She told my daughter to put her clothes on the rack and I told her there were already clothes there that weren't ours. She didn't even look our way when she repeated herself. My daughter got flustered and just gave them to me to deal with. So I just put our clothes next to the others, but one hanger was broken so I told her I couldn't hang it and she cut me off to repeat herself again, not looking or helping us. I tried telling her again that I couldn't hang 1 item and was holding it up next to the rest. But again without looking at us, she just started helping the people after us. completely ignoring all 3 of us in front of the line. When she was done helping everyone else she walked up to us and said "are you ready?" I couldn't believe that was her way of finally addressing us after all that. While we were waiting I heard her snap at a young man for getting his shirt he left behind. Completely rude and uncalled for as well. I could tell he was as surprised as we were at the lack of courtesy and basic human decency. I urge the people in charge of this store to watch the fitting room woman and see for yourself how she treats people. Maybe it's just people of color because we are Hispanic and so was the young man she snapped at, but that's not ok either. She can't pick and choose who to help like that. First thing queen going there is the parking. It was full and too close to cars. Once I got inside there was only 2 at the check out which was kind of getting busy at that time. There was allot of cute tops but mostly winter and not enough summer comfortable shorts or yoga pants even in my size. I have a complaint and a concern. My mother and I was at Ross in Oceanside Vista way location we purchased clothing items paid at register received a receipt. The greeter at the door ask to see our receipt and then ask to look in side of our Ross $1 dollar bag to see the items we had purchased. Not only did the loss prevention lady stand next to me at the register she also asked me for my receipt after I payed and on top of that asked me to open my bag when she was standing right there and saw me pay and saw her cashier put the items that I payed for in the bag and she still asked me to show her what was inside? As you walk in, it's durt everywhere. It is a disgusting place to save money. I actually came in to use the bathroom and that was even more disgusting than any bathroom ever! The staff walk around saying hi to everyone. But if they just picked up one piece of trash to each time they greet you, it would be better to shop here. It's not well organized and dirty. They had the same typical stuff that you find at all Ross stores. In this case, you're so disturbed by the dirt that you can't enjoy your shopping experience. I ended up buying couple of things but won't be coming back. The manager of this store should be ashamed of themselves for keeping this location so disgustingly dirty. I've been to third world countries that were cleaner than this store. The smell in the bathroom is of that in the squating bathroom shacks in India. I never actually like shopping at Ross, the lines are always way too long at check out, service non existent and their stores old and run down. Horrible lay out, everything is just kind of thrown around, it's a mess. Before I walked inside, I noticed a sign on the window stating they give a Senior Discount. As I walked inside, I noticed the cash register followed by a Loss prevention guy pushing carts to the side. The store is brightly lit. It seems like there is more open area for walking as areas were bombarded with racks and such at one point. There's a variety of items here from men and women's clothing, shoes, bathroom essentials, home decor, purses, etc. They do have some name brand purses. Things are picked at, not in the right place, a bit run down. I think this place needs a re-model to keep up with other stores around. I was looking for a dark wooden basket organizer for the bathroom, I was searching and searching and I finally found the one I liked here for $7.99 which is a reasonable deal. They also have more in stock so If I want to come back and buy more I can. I also purchased a black and white striped shirt for $5, I wasn't looking but saw it at the end of one of the clothing racks and grabbed it. I must say they have lots of cute sweaters, cover ups, shirts and a pair of black pants which I will be going back for. The lady working in the fitting room seemed a bit rude, like she didn't want to help me. So that was a bit of a turn off. Luckily the girl who rung up my items was nice. read more

I love shopping at Ross but this location didn't have anything to my liking. I did find the Friuctis shampoo for $3.99. Good deal. I got the shampoo along with some stuff my daughter wanted like snacks. I actually found makeup which were not high end. I have to read labels on makeup because I'm allergic to anything that contains bees wax. I didn't buy any makeup here. I did not find anything to my liking at this location. Seems like a lot of people shop here. Maybe I will have better luck at another Ross location. Store was clean and organized. Line was long but it went pretty fast for only having two cashiers open. Ok- So I'm a Ross Dress 4 Less convert! When I lived in Texas I went into the store twice and Never went back. It was chaiotic and so dirty. Since living in California I've gained weight and have had to do a bit more budgeting. I used to shop at The Avenue, Lane Bryant and Dress Barn Woman. But, I just couldn't really afford to spend my money there especially when I'm hoping to not stay this large! It is definitely HIT or miss with Ross. They get shipments in people hit the store and all the good stuff is gone! Whelp, this location was a definite hit for me! Very clean. I just kept finding more and more stuff! I was soo glad I got a basket! Starting a new job I decided it was time to add some cute stuff to my wardrobe because I'm NOT losing weight overnight! LOL I only spent $90.00 and I bought 4 tops, 1 pair of Jean capris, 1 dress and a really nice black shrug. Loving my stuff and I really feel like I hit the Jackpot! The only complaint I have is there is only one bathroom and the toilet paper was sitting on the handicap rail which means people have to touch the inside and side of the toilet paper to get some! This Ross is a little on the sparse side for my shopping tastes. They have all the sections that other Ross Stores have, they just don't seem to have a lot of merch. I arrived as soon as they opened and was cheerfully greeted at the door by staff. The store was clean and neat but just seemed understocked. I think this Ross is the best one in North County. Ample parking (when patrons aren't double-parked), wide selection (& for the most part) in the same area, the clothes on the floor is because people let their kids run-wild through the racks (not because they're placed, there) and the bathroom is gross but at least they have one available. This Ross is one of the busiest but it's a well-oiled machine. The lines get long but they continue to move, the staff do their best to keep items, stocked (-can't be easy w/a barrage of sugar-filled, rugrats playing in the clothing racks). I think this locations is the best in North County (followed by N. Oceanside, San Marcos & Vista- respectively). read more

I'm giving this particular store one star due to the horrible customer service my friend and I received tonight. We were able to find good selections of clothes to try on, and the young girl that was in charge of the dressing rooms was very friendly. While in the dressing room we heard the announcement on the intercom that the store was closed. So we hurried out of the dressing room and ran over to grab a different size shirt for my friend. The security guard whose name is James, was very rude and told us to make our final selections because the store was closed. We were frantically trying to find the size shirt my friend needed, and literally not even 30 seconds later he says "Ladies lets go, did you not hear me the first time, I want to go home." Seriously, who says that to they're paying customers? I totally get the fact that the store was closed and that the staff wanted to go home, I don't blame them, but when a customer is clearly making their final selections, they should be able to grab what they need without any harassment. It would be one thing if we were leisurely looking through the racks and ignoring the announcement, but when we were hurrying to help them get out of there, there is no excuse for us to be treated like we did. I love Ross! Especially for home decor. This road is always messy. There are items everywhere. I feel really bad for the employees because they have to clean up after all the inconsiderate shoppers. I was shocked when I saw how disorganized the shelves are here - the Ross in NC I fell in love with was not like this! The clothing is a bit more organized, and I did find a few pieces at a good price. But if the price had been much more, it wouldn't have been worth standing in line for 15 minutes.
