Dress 4 less!!! The Ross on 17 St. in the great city of Costa Mesa has closed down so I came here to check out some gear and see how it's coming along. Let's be real here, this location is a straight up zoo. There's kids running around yelling and screaming, there's clothes all over the floor but it still has a lot of customers and the selection is decent. There's always some fresh new gear at Ross and it's kind of chaotic but in all fairness, it's an organized type of chaos. You can still get some some great clothes, shoes, sun glasses, etc. I got some great sunglasses here for $8, Stacey Adams OG style. Very disappointed with my visit to the Ross Santa Ana store this morning. While I was waiting in line, the cashier had her back toward me, briefly looked at me, then turned away again with no greeting or acknowledgment. Another associate kindly directed me to a different register, but it felt like the original cashier simply did not want to help. Because of that interaction, I was not in the mood to offer a donation when she asked, since that was the first thing she said to me. After being ignored, it did not feel appropriate to contribute. What made it stand out even more is the store had a fun atmosphere while I was shopping. I even joined the cheering when someone donated while I was in the men's section. That contrast made the checkout experience worse. I previously worked as a corporate customer service trainer, and a simple hello or clear direction to the next register would have completely changed the experience. After paying, I put my receipt in my pocket and was immediately stopped at the exit to show it. I cooperated, but the store should place a "Do not put your receipt away, please show it at the door" notice at the register instead of only at the exit. Most customers instinctively put the receipt away, which creates confusion and a bottleneck. When I suggested this, the security guard said "okay," and the associate next to the door responded with a smug, sarcastic comment telling me to read the back of the receipt and submit feedback if I had issues with how the store operates. I like Ross for the deals, but the greeting etiquette, tone at checkout, and receipt process need to be consistent and improved to create unforgettable, legendary customer experiences at the exit. I always find the most random stuff here and the cutest things here. I got some really cool candles and clothes. I love shopping here even though it can definitely look chaotic. Everything is just so random sometimes but i've gotten some of the best stuff here. read more

April 17, 2025. A huge line and one check stand open. They have 12 numbered check out stations. Only the drone one at number 1 was being used and a guy standing there watching people leave as security. Where are the staff. What idiot is managing or mismanaging this store? After standing in line about 15 min a woman opened number 2. That's it ! What a joke. About 20 people deep in line waiting Oh and let's talk about the shoe alarms. The store sounds like it's full of a cricket infestation! What good are the shoe alarms when they are all going off and no one from security is in the area. And there's only one security guy in the entire store by the front door. It's a horrible shopping experience. Why can't the alarms trigger if you get close to the exit ? If I could give it less than a star, I would. My girl and her brother went to this Ross and bought some black wedge sandals. The woman at the register, her name was Amanda based on what the lady who answered when I called said, rung them up and did not bag them. When they got home, we checked the car, looked in all the bags and the shoes were not there. I called, spoke to a lady who told me Amanda returned them to the kids section (sounds shady, because they were adult sandals). When I asked if someone can go check and grab them, they said no and then I asked for a manager and they said "hold on" and hung up on me. I called back, got the manager, who hung up on me and refused to help as well because they "had nobody working the floor and it's busy. Meanwhile, I check and it says "not too busy" on the tracker below. Then they say "oh, best we can do is a refund" and not even try to even just put the shoes aside for us to return to pick them up with the receipt. Beware, if they are scanning items and placing them in random places on the belt, watch your stuff because they could easily shift random things below them and not bag your stuff and instead "return them where they got them" which sounds like a load of bullsh*t and sounds shady like they instead put them aside for themselves later. read more

Pretty big store with good variety and selection of items. Everything was properly priced. The service was great and friendly. Ross stores are most likely because of the business very messy but this one was well organized and stocked. Plenty of parking outside. read more

My father had a very uncomfortable experience at this Ross location today that needs to be addressed. After waiting in a long line, he completed his purchase at the register and was handed his bag by the cashier (as Ross keeps bags behind the counter). As he walked toward the exit -- which is only a few feet from the register -- a security guard stopped him and demanded to see his receipt and inspect the items in his bag. When my father asked why he was being singled out and what the store's policy was, the guard claimed that "everyone is subject to receipt checks and bag inspections." However, while this was happening, several other customers were walking out of the store without being stopped or asked for their receipts. That inconsistency is the problem. If it's truly store policy, it should be applied to everyone, not selectively. The situation made it feel like my father was being racially profiled, which is unacceptable for any customer who just paid for their items and was leaving the store. Retailers need to understand how damaging these kinds of experiences are. Being treated like a suspect after making a legitimate purchase is frustrating and humiliating. Ross must review how security is being instructed to interact with customers at this location and ensure policies are enforced fairly and consistently. Very disappointing experience. read more

Holy cow what a bummer! I actually found shoes I was super stoked about at a decent price but my goodness this store is chaos. It is beyond disorganized and exceptionally dirty. Stuff is thrown everywhere. It almost an hour to get through the line I kid you not. I stayed out of pure stubbornness based on how much time I wasted in line already. There was at least 40 people in line with two people at the registers is insane. Get it together Ross! read more

Friday 10:30 am I wish I could give it less stars but I couldn't. My great grandma and I love shopping at Ross sadly her wheel chair died on us I asked nicely to charge her chair and the manager told me the outlets where for store use only. I'm sorry but this was an emergency she needs better costumer service and simpathy for their costumers. I will not return to this store ever again I'm so disappointed. read more

This place really went down hill. Stopped by tonight and the customer service was horrible. I waited 10 minutes for the jewelry counter just for Some Juliana to tell me i have to get in the check out line to get service for jewelry. I left since i already waited for someone at the counter. The one star is because it will take you longer to get through the line than it will to shop and try on clothing . It doesn't matter what day or what time of day you go there are 15-30 people in line with ONE check out person. If you're lucky there might be a second one, but it goes just as slow. It's the same line for checkout and returns. It's unbelievable that they don't have more help there. I have stopped going to that store. read more

Located in The South Coast shopping district, so I expected to see some very high end stuffs here, which I found majority of them at designer bags and sports apparel, everything else were trashed and demolished because of many shoppers in and out the store, some items got broken, opened, even stolen, lots of items were laying around on the floor, got treaded by shopping carts and very dirty and dusty, sad to say I have to find another Ross that less chaotic than this one, although I was fascinated by their fancy bags and clothes. read more

Stopped at this Ross store today just to look for a particular shirt for work, and some other outfits. They had a few things that I did not suspect would be here, but I gave it a go and tried the clothes on I needed. Everything turned out great, and I was happy. Come here if you have a lot of time to waste and like to hear the annoying beeping of the alarms on the purses nonstop. I came to return something and waited in line for 30 minutes. The line was to the back of the store and two people were checking out. I recommend TJ Maxx next door or the Ross on Bristol by Petco. read more

This Ross is quite large with lots of aisles. The aisles are pretty close together so 2 carts can't fit through. There is always a long line to let you know just how busy this one is. Great finds at great prices. Lots of parking. read more

I like this Ross because there was a lot of stock and items to look through. I came because I wanted to return a suitcase I had bought from a different location, and the staff made it super easy to do so. holy MESS!!!! It's muggy crowded and unorganized I walked in and felt stuck. Walked right out.

Ross, the place to be for low prices and a wide selection of a lot of different items ranging casual, formal and athletic clothing to furniture to random knacks of all kinds. In terms of how the store is set up, the store is pretty tight in the aisles and thoroughfares so expect to have to squeeze in between crowds of people on a busy day/night. It's also not very organized or clean so watching where you step is a must! At the same time, I found that taking the time to go through the racks is worthwhile. The staff is very friendly from my experience. I always get greeted by the security and the staff is helpful in getting you to the fitting room and through the check out line ima jiffy. I also must say that one of the perks of this store is that it's open a lot later than other department stores so if you're looking for a late night shopping experience or need something last minute, give this store a try! read more

Put on your combat gear and venture into this Ross at your own risk! This store is complete chaos. They have lots of clothes to choose from at excellent prices. There is men's clothing and women's clothing...and that's about as organized as this place gets. Don't bother trying to find the area with your size as everything is just shoved in every which way with no rhyme or reason. You'll probably find as much on the floor as hanging on the racks. You definitely need some time and patience if you want to shop here. If you are not a shopper I would recommend you avoid this store. So today I went in to buy men's Pants for my motorcycle class this Friday. I went to the fitting room to try 6 pants, and this employee Sheida Looks at me n says do you know that these all men's pants, I said yes of course and she threw the number aggressively at my hand and was judging me hard while giving me a judgmental look. I always shop at other ross's and I'm always buying in the men's section, I just didn't appreciate the sexism. She need to learn that that was not right, and she should mind her own Business on what people buy or try on. Never coming here again. read more

Ignored while I was waiting in the return line. About 7 people went through the regular line that i got out of to just be ignored in the return line. There was a girl at the front register named Janet(got her name when i left) putting clothes on hangers. It looked like she was doing go-back's as she ignored me. she kept looking at me as my beaming eyes were looking at her like "are you going to help me?" This store is just SUCH a mess! Always so crowded, no matter when you go. The clothes and other items are thrown around, the isles are very narrow, impossible to shop at ease.
