They try to justify their accuracy but each time I have gone back to check for another like item n were lucky to find it, tge price I was being charged was much higher. Ross Dress for Less - Panorama City, you've definitely come a long way. Narrow isles in Men's aside, I was pleasantly surprised to see the improvements here as I haven't been back since 2017 or so. It almost felt like a fresh location. Most area and department are easy to navigate. Seasonal and women's get shopped the hardest here, but you can find a lot of nice bargain items, clothing, home goods, gifts, kids, baby, pet, tool and various department store fun. I was greeted when I entered, on the floor and during as well as after checkout. The line got a little wild and delayed with only two clerks on duty until a third started her shift. I noted a few things I'd come back for. Changing area directly to the back of the store. Restrooms for employees. Parking feels endless with so many spaces nearby at The Plant. SERVICE 5/5 Helen was so sweet. She let us know it was senior discount day and my stepmom got to use it. We had already gotten all of the items scanned and paid when we found out about the discount. She did the return right there and re-scanned everything so the discount could be applied. She was kind and didn't hesitate to help us get the best customer service. SELECTION 4/5 The store was big and had a great variety of things, especially really nice furniture at low/ affordable prices. I came looking for house needs including a shower head, large area rug, and furniture. We did go to the shoe area but didn't find not 1 pair in either of our sizes that were our style, but luckily I wasn't there for that. At other Ross locations I've found great shoe options, but this one has great home things so still good. VALUE 5/5 Great value, I got a couple of things for my house that I would have expected to pay so much more for. I also got a new double shower head for a great price, a matching clothing hamper set, and some stylish shelving for my bathroom. Some of the associates are helpful some seriously couldn't care less to help you. I love these kind of stores. Always find something I never knew I had to have in my life or I could use. But first, do not dare to be a man size xxl. For this company we do not exist. Also, I noticed they have hundreds of bathrobes for women. So I asked an associate if they have bathrobes for men and if so where they would be. She didn't look too busy and the store wasn't either! It's Wednesday. Apparently card system "just went down" ( 1:10PM 10/23/2021). They haven't put up signs like they did next door DD's. Same company using same systems not sure why they can't día hand written sign too like next door. Thankfully while walking in and glancing at huge line the guard mentioned that they are taking cash only. I asked why no sign like next door, the security guard said "it just happened". Not too sure how true that is when sister store next door has three hand written signs posted cash only. More likely no one take. The time to print or hand write a sign to deter customers before they get caught up in a long line for no reason. The Manager refused to open the restroom door for me because of "Covid ". I explained to her that it was an emergency and practically had to beg she started arguing with me and said " if the CDC came here right now and saw that I let you in the bathroom they would shut us down". Absolutely ridiculous there's multiple stalls in the restroom and there was only one person inside I was 6 feet apart and didn't even make contact with that person. I have a colon disease and sometimes I need access to a restroom I can't hold it or I'll have an accident and she made me feel horrible !!! she didn't allow me to use the bathroom and I almost had an accident. Apparently they don't allow drinks, but other Ross that I've gone to haven't told me anything about a drink. Every time I go they never have bags! This store has a lot of specials; they have a variety of clothes to choose from. All of the employees are friendly and helpful. The only downside is, that this store has a high volume of customers on a daily basis, so everything gets disorganized very quick. I can't even add up all the money I have spent there. I believe in supporting local stores. I go to return one tray that was cracked for 2.99. I didn't notice it was cracked until I got home, as the sticker was covering it. They had to do a camera check to tell me that it wasn't cracked (because they can see past the sticker from their camera). The staff is horrible, came here on a Tuesday with my mom. Told the cashier she's a senior, she kept insisting my mom has to pay I had to repeat myself a number of times saying I have her credit cards. So my mom needs to had her a credit card, I don't understand the issue!! I called today to ask if they had a item in stock and if possible hold it for me. The employee, in the fitting room, stated that they are low staffed and cannot do it. I asked again and stated a please if at all possible, I live far away so if you could do this for me, I'd appreciate it. She said she'll have to ask the manager and put me on hold for two minutes and then answered stating the manager said you will have to come to check for yourself. I went to the entrance of the fitting room department and found out it was 20 feet away, two isles over and I was able to picked up what I needed, it was the last one. I understand jobs can be hard but when you're trying to be polite and they still treat you like dirt, that's not right and integrity needs to be there. Dear Ross, Your want-to-be security guards need to fix their way of handling or doing anything. They followed my sister and mom around the store and because they both had empty shopping bags the security stood next to them and spoke to his little mic saying, "be on the look out with two women" and started off describing what they were wearing. I gave one star because the associates are doing their best with the staff they have. I went in and bought a designer bag. Well, lemme start by... I was asking someone if they can help me with it since it was locked and you cannot really inspect the item because the bags are locked together so the movement was limited. It took awhile to talk to someone and when I did she told me to shop whatever else I need because nobody is available on the floor. So here I am shopping, then i was next in line to pay, i told the cashier that I needed to see the MK bag so she asked to go back in line because the other cashier is the one responsible for the locked items. So not only i have limited time to inspect the item, but when i realized there are some stains and scratches at the bottom, I asked for a discount she promptly told me I am only allowed up to 10% discount but if you want to wait for the manager. I was like where is the manager? She is very busy, so I asked how long is the wait? She said I dont know maybe around 15 to 29 mins. I was like go ahead give me 10% for now and I will just call later. I bought the bag because I have been looking for a bargain for that exact bag and I have a flight the next day so I cannot go back the same day, i was hoping to speak to the manager to have some type of arrangement like send her pictures now and I will bring it back once im back in the country. She said she cannot do anything and i have to come back right away. I know its bargain priced but I believe i was deserve more discount because of how damaged it was. If she was not too busy to make me wait 20 minutes maybe i would have that discount. Mind you, I waited 10+ minutes for her to talk to me over the phone. See the thing is this: The past weekend I went shopping at a few stores and I didn't find what I was looking for......which was just a simple pair of black dress slacks. On Tuesday I went to Ross....The parking lot is decent size...so no problems there. Entering the store I noticed that the line was soooooo long....and Loss prevention was standing up front too. The store is pretty big....and has a lil something for everybody. Men's area, kids, plus size, dresses, pants, Capri's, pajamas, lingerie, shirts. It's all basically organized that way. They also carry shoes, pillows, knick knacks. It used to be so much more messy and unkept in here...like 3-4 years ago. This time it was not bad at all. Found 4 pairs of pants to try on....and 1 was a winner. I then headed straight for the line. It wasn't too bad...a 5 to10 minute wait. The prices are always good. Sometimes you will find open packages so watch out for that. If your going to shop here come at night it tends to be busy during the day. I'd like to start off with saying I'm a long time Ross customer, and my family and I have been shopping at Ross stores for years. I wanted to share the experience I had at a Ross Store located in Van Nuys, Los Angeles, CA on 9/9/17. I went into the Panorama City store around 9:45 PM and picked out and tried on several articles of clothing. I realized I left my wallet at home, and told the Loss Prevention worker on duty (her name was Sally, I didn't get her last name) that I hid the clothes under a nearby clothes rack and would be coming back to purchase them later because I left my wallet at home. When I returned I noticed the clothes were no longer there, and I asked another employee if she had seen them. I got interrupted by Sally, the Loss Prevention worker and she aggressively told me that my clothes had been put behind register 4. She then accused me of stealing. I asked her how I could have possibly been stealing and she replied since I was hiding apparel it prevented other customers from buying them. I tried to calmly remind her that I had come back to the store to indeed purchase the items I had selected. I have never felt so uncomfortable in my life, and I would absolutely never steal. Accusing me of stealing when I had come back to purchase the items was so wrong and I was very uncomfortable and upset. She advised me to get in line and purchase the clothes, as they were waiting for me behind the register, and advised me to tell the cashier that my clothes were put behind register 4. I waited in line for about 25 minutes (it was closing time and there was only one cashier on duty -- Jason). When I got to the front of the line, the cashier on duty said there were no clothes behind the register. I called Sally over and asked her where the clothes were and she completely lied and said "No, I didn't say that, they were behind register 4 when you left. We put them back after you left". I looked at Jason's name tag and noticed he was a manager and explained to him what had happened and he did not resolve my issue, nor empathize with how uncomfortable I was, and how insulted and harrassed I felt that Sally had been just mean, and wasted my time. As a long time customer of Ross, and fashion shopper, blogger, and social media influencer, I have never felt more uncomfortable during a shopping experience in my entire life. I will never shop at that store again, and am considering not shopping at Ross anymore altogether. I have tried to let this experience go and move past this, but it has still been on my mind 3 days later and truly bothering me. Do not go to this Ross if you don't want to get charged for something you did not purchase. Since the registers had the plexiglass up for the cashiers protection, you can't load your items on the counter all at once. So I handed the cashier my items one at a time as she scanned everything. As I am walking out the store looking at my receipt, I notice some extra items on there that I did not hand to her. It was a big purchase, so I counted my items in the bag, then I counted the items on my receipt: 11 items show on the receipt, and 9 items in my bag. I took my bag back into the store and spoke to the cashier who happened to be the manager. She did what I did, counted the bag items and then the items on the receipt. She noticed there was one item she double charged me, and I asked her what about the other extra item. She took my receipt to the back to look at the security camera over that register. Then she comes back to tell me the other extra item was ladies slippers. I did not purchase ladies slippers. I did not have ladies slippers in my basket and did not hand her ladies slippers. She said she saw herself scan them and put them in my bag. How can that be! I didn't hand her ladies slippers. She credited me one of the extra items, so I said I would take this to customer service. They said they would credit me the other extra item, but haven't seen it in my bank yet. I believe with all the 'go backs' they have at the register, I believe she scanned on my purchase and kept the item for herself. Just my guess. With all this, I would not suggest you go to this Ross if you dont want to get charged for something you did not intend to purchase. If so, watch closely what is getting scanned. When in doubt count the items in your bag before walking out the door. My purchase was pretty large, so I did not want to pull everything out of the bag right there at the door.
