Wonderful store. Great variety of products. I just bought outdoor furniture and they had an amazing sale. The outdoor furniture is much higher quality than it used to be. Jackie is the best employee and was so helpful. She helped me put the look of my patio together. She's very accommodating and very good at her job. They also have my favorite wine there by Cooper's and thief - red blend. I can't seem to find it anywhere else. From candles to kitchenware to furniture to pillows to decor to exotic foods. This is my home World Market and I really do like them. I don't shop here extremely often but I'm very satisfied each time I do. They are totally geared up for the holidays now, and the entire store just feels so cheery. I stopped in for Jammie dodgers for a raspberry cheesecake I'll soon be making but most of the time I'm in the store for home goods. If you've been itch'n to stamp your passport like me, one stop in here helps you feel a bit more globally connected from home. I love all of the international offerings that make me feel like I'm back in some of my favorite places around the world. This really is a one stop shop for finding a great gift . They have such fun food, treats and drinks. You can build a really nice gift basket, or come shopping for a super fun date, find decor for your home, new place mats, door mats, wreaths, nice glassware, towels, indoor and outdoor pillows, you name it! So if you do an in-store pickup online and you're already in the store, you may have to wait up to two hours to actually fulfill your order, even if you've already paid, have a confirmation/invoice number, and you're holding the product in your hands. Three stars because the first person I spoke to just told me "two hours" like "F- off" but the younger gentleman I asked next gave me a more apologetic and reasonable response to the store's obsolete process for handling in-store pickups AND even came to look for me to tell me to tell me that my order was ready even before I received my confirmation email (otherwise, only ONE STAR). I used to work a big box retail and had customers do in-store pickups while already in the store and while the process wasn't perfect, those customers were taken care of for the most part so I thought the process here would've been similar. I guess not. Still like the store though. They just need to fix their in-store pickup process (and maybe the attitude of at least one of their employees). read more

Haven't been here in YEARS!! Used to come here every now and then since it's such a great shop. It literally lives up to their name. You can find all kinds of snacks from all over the world which is super cool. Everything is also priced nicely! Dropped by here yesterday on the way home from a coffee run down the street. Parked on the street at a meter since I wasn't sure if it was a valet only or private parking lot like most on Ventura. Walked in, pretty busy, but still spaced out pretty nicely. Immediately get the smell of candles and I LOVE shopping for candles so I had to grab some! Love that they had big ones at great prices compared to Bath n Body. The snacks was where we spent most of our time. Grabbed a few bottles of wine to try as well. Waited in line for a bit since there was only one register open even though there were 3-4 workers just standing around but probably busy with other things. This store has been one of my favs for decades. Unfortunately, since Covid, they no longer are consistently stocked with the specialty items I long for. It's more "hit or miss," and lately it's more of a miss. However, this time was a "hit!" I did buy a few small bottles of sparkling wines to try that were so cute and delicious. I always shop here for fun house warming gifts and tablecloths for the holidays. My favorite items are in the food section, having several Brits in the house. I can always find Mars bars, Hob Knobs and lots of Eclairs. I wish they'd carry Yorkers again. This is our favorite spot for UK treats. You can never go wrong at this place. Kind of like a one stop shop. Like it what's it called, World Market. And yes, they carry many of items from all over the place. I especially love that they have a great selections of items from the UK. The selections of sweets of that you can't get anywhere else. Down to food items and what sort. Not just international items. They have a good selection of alcohol as well. The wine and beer selections is pretty impressive. As well as furniture and clothing. It's like a big kid gift store with all things international. My wife went to World Market Sherman Oaks to get some cases of water. The manager (she did not get his name) a "tall man with a beautiful beard" helped her get the cases of water and got her a cart. He told her he would help her take the heavy six cases to her car. What customer service!! She was so impressed with his assistance she told me about her experience (when she got home). It's quaint, maybe a third smaller than other world market locations. No shade, just facts and the parking lot can get it as it wraps around the foundation of the off street portion of the structure. This is not as spacious as other locations, but the customer service is quite excellent. I came in recently to search for some accent decorative pillows on sale for the living room and my bed, but didn't have much luck. I did leave with 7 bottles of wine, new bath towels, spaghetti sauces, pasta, candles and a pleasant smile... typical. The help I got on the floor was fun and interactive. The woman in wine was very knowledgable. I also worked this game ( as a wine specialist) for 6 years so I know it's a passion. She actually encouraged me on the 6 bottle deal (%10 off a half case) which actually was more because three of the bottles I selected where marked down and on closeout... normally discounted wines aren't included at other places offering promotions like this so I was VERY happy about this, yet also at a lost since I came in for pillows... They boxed everything up for me at checkout, not to mentioned got me the best deal possible through their club savings (free) and I was on my very merry way. I did hate that they were understaffed (because that's frustrating for the team members and supervisors.). I'm a patient line waiter, plus I didn't wait more than ten minutes max. As they managed breaks and lunches while a small line started to grow behind me I remembered the retail game is not easy, but they definitely try extra hard here and their management stepped up to help out in anyway they could. I usually love this place as I think the market is awesome with the items they sale. I came here to return an item at happy place and asked the sales rep if she had a trash can to trash my box and she said "oh no that's too big, there's a trash outside behind the building". I was a bit annoyed with this comment because it was a box to ship shoes which could have easily been broken down and fit one of their trash cans. It was also raining. I responded with "ok I was gonna shop, I just wanna put this down for now". She didn't really do anything with that comment after or offered to grab the box to put to the side. So I put the box outside the front for a bit so I could shop then trash it once I was done. Again, not a huge box at all. While I was shopping, I heard this representative talk shit about me a couple mins later when she saw the box and then finally threw it away. So World Market work on your customer service. That's unacceptable. Im a paying customer. The other rep that helped me at check out was super friendly though so of course it's not all of them. Overall, all sales reps represent the store. This is the Most Racist store! I was so excited to grab a few items from this store as we no longer have one in my neighborhood. Everyone except me was greeted when they walked in except me a woman of color. When I asked to obtain the code for ladies room, the checkout clerk immediately said I will ask someone to open it with total disregard. I waited in front of rest room for 7 minutes without anyone coming over with clear view of the clerk not asking anyone to assist me.This is completely rude so I left and will never return to this store. I like Cost Plus World Market for two reasons: the adventure of stumbling across interesting stuff I need and the wide variety of specialty food items not easily available elsewhere. First time at this one, though... just happened to be in the neighborhood. Not knowing that they validate part, I was initially surprised by the steep parking rates posted at the entrance. But that concern was put to rest by the attendant. The store was clean and well stocked. Some of the aisles are narrow and mildly claustrophobic. Makes more room for more stuff to buy, though! I stopped by yesterday evening and even though I was in and out of the store in 20 minutes the experience was so genuine. I went in with my sister and favorite 4 year old nephew. Of course, he was drawn to all the toys. So I followed him over to the area and he was allotted to pick one toy during this adventure. Of course, if you know this store they are jammed pack with a whole section of delightfully unique toys that are brought in from all over the world. As he walked through the isles he was saying, "I want this one!" Then we swivel to another corner & he says, "I want this one too!" In the end, he and I were holding about 4 toys each that he wanted, which is 7 more toys than what we bargained for in the beginning. In the end, we were successfully able to get his toy while buying last minute Christmas presents for family. The customer service was so incredible. I had one of the helpers come up to me to mention that tomorrow all the toys in the store go 40% off! He mentioned it because I was spilling over with toys in my hands as did my nephew because he couldn't decide which one he wanted the most. Then during my check out the kind gentleman at the counter helped me to use my 3 day 15% coupon for my purchase with the warmest smile. Everytime we've visited, we've always found a lot of nice items for our home. From rugs to cushions and a family room chair! Always very happy with the array of items to choose from. The last time we visited, we had a very pleasant experience with one of their managers who helped us wheel all of our purchases out to our car. We had a VERY unpleasant experience with a cashier named Ania. She was very rude and unprofessional while helping us navigate a coupon we were trying to use. Very surprising and upsetting given we were in the process of spending $1000. Overall, I would recommend this store! We will be back. Love love love world market and all they offer! As manager of operations for a event planning company, i frequent WM a lot. What i have been noticing though is the lack of quality for the over priced items I'm buying. My only complaint is why are some items ridiculously way more expensive than other places? For example i bought two umbrellas for the patio yesterday and the total came to nearly $600 just for the 2 because the cover, pole and base are sold separately. Mind you, I went elsewhere to get more affordable umbrellas for an event and found the same 7 umbrellas for only $200 more than my total at world market was for only 2 umbrellas. read more

I have been back to this store a fajillion number of times in the last few weeks. I love this store and I love their sales and I am constantly finding great deals on cool and well made items, which I absolutely love. The only reason I didn't give the store 5 stars is because of the frustrating online shopping experience that I keep having. They offer great discounts when you shop online, but 75% of the time when you click on an item you want, it says that item is not available for pick up or for shipping. Then you have to look at the stores near you option, and then if you can't find it there, you have to go back to the category you were shopping for, which sometimes lets you continue from the place you left off, but which sometimes takes you back to the very beginning. It is a very tedious and frustrating process, and while I have lucked out on occasion, in most cases, the effort spent online hasn't yielded a worthwhile result. I wish there was a way for the app to only show you items that CAN be shipped or picked up near your location. Why get my hopes up for a product I can't get? Why even offer it in the site if it's not available for purchase? I have lost my temper a time or two, I'm sorry to say. I keep putting myself through it because the sales and discounts are wonderful if you can find a product that fits your location.. I love world market and am a true loyal customer, but this is one area that could be greatly improved. read more

Let me preface this with saying that I had no idea I was walking into World Market when I went into this store - And let me pre-preface that and say right now that no one like me should enter this building without an adult or an accountabilibuddy of some kind. I'm an interior designer and had a consultation in the office building next door. The two buildings share a parking lot, and I just popped inside to grab a water before I started my drive back home. I had zero intensions of shopping for anything, but I didn't leave for TWO HOURS (and it FLEW!). When describing the store to my boyfriend I said it was like someone took the best parts of Target, Home Depot, and Erewhon and put them in a very organized, manageable store that was the perfect size to give a vast range of product and style choices, yet not becoming overwhelming. And while yes, the store itself and general staff were enough to impress, the GM Kelly was what turned me from a customer to a client - a designer client who will be bringing a lot of business to this store in the future. Kelly was personable, extremely helpful, and all-around one of the nicest people I have met in a retail setting in a long time. I work in retail all the time so this was huge. She signed me up for the rewards program and did everything possible to help me get what I wanted at the price I needed it to be! And when my total was $1.50 over my limit (lost my debit card and was working off a very small credit card balance - I told you this was unprepared) she even offered to chip in from her own pocket to make things work out. Thankfully I scrounged up some quarters so she didn't have to BUT my point is- She didn't do that out of obligation, pity, or personal advancement - she did that because she genuinely wanted to help make someone else's day a little brighter. She loaded up my rug and throw pillow in my car for me, and also was empathetic to my parking dilemma and helped me sort it out with the lot attendee so that I didn't owe a ridiculous amount of money. And while she wasn't pulling rugs from the back, answering my many questions, or saving me tons of money, she was also RUNNING THE REST OF THE ENTIRE STORE! Kelly - you are a ROCK STAR and you deserve a big huge raise, some damn recognition, and some SERIOUSLY GOOD KARMA!! So- all in all, 10/10 this place is the BEST. They have killer deals, killer customer service, and a better return policy than Amazon Prime (literally). I'm going back next week for more stuff and I'll probably be there at least twice a year until I die. If you live in the area, go inside, and take Kelly a cookie. I'll Venmo you for it. read more

I have been to a few CPWM's and this is by far the best I have shopped at. I spent about an hour looking at the variety of different things and furniture they have. Let's face it, CPWM is one of the best stores ever but this particular locations is STELLAR! The parking was free for one hour, the staff are approachable and friendly, and the selection is the best I have seen so far. I want to mention that I lost my diamond tennis bracelet in the store and did not realize until I was on my way home (20 minutes away). I called and they promised me if it came up they would put it in the safe. I thought to myself that I would never see my bracelet again and got extremely upset. I called the next day when it opened and voila!...what do you know? They had me describe it and told me they had it!! I was overjoyed. You cannot get more trustworthy, decent people than the employees and shoppers that work and shop at CPWM. Let's just say I will definitely be back for all my furniture, decor, jewerly, trinkets, and gifting needs (they have everything to make the best gift!) Well now I know why I don't shop here that much. Last night, I purchased $90 worth of stuff. One of the items was a $5.99 wine glass. One time, my company had the head of Riedel show us how the shape of a wine glass could alter the taste of wine, which none of us believed, but after the demonstration, we were all blown away! Back to my review... I tried this wine that people were raving about, but it just didn't taste that great. While at Cost Plus buying other things, I decided to try this wine glass to see if it would make the wine taste better, but unfortunately it didn't. I brought the glass back today, and was told that since it wasn't in its original condition, I was not able to return it. I asked the woman if she was joking, but she said no and then walked over to this other register to pull something out that was buried underneath all this paper; it was the return policy. Annoyed, I left and then called to speak with the manager, who confirmed that that was, in fact, their return policy. When I asked if the policy was clearly posted anywhere in the store, he stammered and said, "Well it's been our policy for as long as I've been here." Right but that didn't answer my question. Anyway, I know it's only $5.99, but it's the principle of the thing, so I will NEVER shop here again! read more
