I love coming to see what's New! Parking is easy and always available. No bathrooms. They take cash & card. I like to come in to buy seasonal stuff, party decorations and art stuff. Everything In the store is $1.21 or less which makes is easy and fun to shop. They will have some amazing things that are one time deals so don't hesitate to buy them if you like them. I love coming here, I come here every week to stock up on supplies and they were the only place with paper towels and disposable gloves when the big super markets were all out from the Corona panic.. who would've thought this little gem here would prove so useful?! They have a huuuuge selection of lashes all for a dollar each!! Better than any price you can find at any of the big convenience drugstores. Parking is sometimes tricky but it's honestly no big deal. I've been coming here for a while and never had any issues until today. The cashier Brenda was really rude. I didn't know she was talking to me since she was blowing up balloons and it was hard to hear her since we all wear masks. I guess she was asking me if I wanted a bag for my things. Since I didn't respond she started to roll her eyes at me and laugh. Mind you, I had my 2 daughters with me and my oldest noticed she was rolling her eyes at me and nodding her head. Once she finished blowing up the balloons I told her I didn't know she was talking to me and rung me up rudely. I did not want to cause drama in front of my daughters so I decided to call the store and speak to the manager. She said she would have a talk with her, which I'm hoping they weren't just words because it's not ok for an employee to be disrespectful since there was no need for it. Probably one of the best dollar stores in the San Fernando Valley. They have a huge selection of items. Come here if you are in the need for arts and craft supplies, party supplies, and seasonal items (Xmas gift wrap, halloween decorations, ect) The store is usually pretty busy, there is always a line to pay and not too many registers open. read more

I was referred to Dollar King by a friend I am assisting to teach a class. We are interested in purchasing Little BIG Book notebooks for the class. I called the store and spoke with Jessica who assured me they had Little BIG Books. In anticipation of buying a supply for the entire class I asked her to set aside 20 in various colors. She said she would. I said I'd be by the following day to pick them up. Found out from my friend he wanted only one copy to "check it out." Went in the following day and spoke with Betsy. I have been going to the store for many years and I've never had a problem with their staff and managers until today. I was so heartbroken and astounded by the amount of disregard for common courtesy and manners, that I left the store feeling so sad and disappointed. I was in line trying to get two "get well" balloons, for my brother who had suffered an accident, when the cashier was like well if you want two balloons then go and grab them now. I hadn't gotten them only because they were behind the counter and I thought that was off-limits for customers. So instead of ringing me up as soon as I grabbed my balloons she rang up the person behind me. So I had to wait another five minutes before I could even get my balloons inflated. Then when I pulled out latex balloons with my otherMylar balloons she said that it would take 15 minutes because she didn't blow up latex balloons. She then proceeded to ring up the person behind me and push me aside for a second time. I have never had to make or wait in a line 3 separate times for one transaction all while getting an attitude, Eye_rolls, comments behind her mask-all which were completely unnecessary and uncalled for. After asking to speak to her manager, I was greeted by a person that seemed more interested in moving the line along rather than solving an issue. Not once did they apologize for the rude comments and the rude treatment of me, in fact the cashier interrupted me as I was speaking to the manager to share her piece of the story. I get that they aren't paid much and that it's a discount store , but No one deserves that type of treatment. read more

This dollar store has a lot to offer, but the employees are horrible. They wrongfully accused and embarrassed a mother because another boy had opened a toy. The mother asked her child and he denied it. She then asked to speak to the worker who supposedly had seen her child open the toy and another worker said I saw him. The woman said she didn't have enough money to pay for the toy so they took some of her items back. As she was leaving the worker who had actually seen the boy said that's not him. So, the first employee lied and they all attacked this woman for nothing. read more
