I read the reviews. I got Alyssa for my mom after looking for an appointment everywhere and thought, eff me, we're gonna be screwed, but!!!such a treat we had with her! Mom loved how gorgeous Alyssa is, sweet as pie and totally treated my cognitively declining mom with the care and respect she deserved! plus, after a month her hair still looks hip n trendy. Mom probably gave her a $2.00 tip thinking it was enough but I wanted to throw in my review to Alyssa for going above and beyond. So I'm still not even sure how to even explain at my appointment because it wasn't bad, but it wasn't good either. I thought maybe I was just being sensitive and just needed to suck it up, but honestly, i just would not go there again.My hair was not in the best state (Quarantine bleach job, dry, not horrid in my opinion but not the best diy coloring, just needed a good toner since it was fading.) and was in need desperately for a haircut. Luckily, they had a slot available because someone had canceled but the price was a bit much for a haircut. I thought, I should just treat myself since i hardly get haircuts now. I booked the appointment, show up an hour later, and yes, my hair was a birds nest. Though out the process, I explained I wanted a long bob cut but i was open to what the stylist thought was flattering. Not much was explained (again, social anxiety and intimidation), but yeah, some bleaching comments were jokingly made. "Yeah, the pandemic got to me hahaha." "Okay, let's take you to the shampoo bowl and make your hair feel like hair again." It was mostly comments like that. Even though i let them go as a joke, it made me feel off. I will say the stylist was nice enough to tone my hair (since i was going to do it myself) at a good price, and i tipped the stylist well with the small discount he took off for me. The other stylist that was shampooing another person was kinda looking over at me and making comments of her own. "You did that yourself?!" Ok. Yes. I guess i messed up even if i didnt think it was that bad. My hair is dry and just needs a cut. It's a high end hair salon. I was already mentally noting that some comments would be made, and i thought i was going to be able to handle them.The hair was toned, cut, washed, but the blow dry. Oh my gosh. I wish I should've said something. The stylist was burning my scalp and it hurt so bad but i couldn't even say anything because i thought i was being the wimp. I even flinched from stylist from touching me because of how much it hurt. Oh, one thing i missed was that i wanted to try curtain bangs so I tried to speak up to ask for them. But it more or less went like this. "I would really like to try curtain bangs... they look cool you know? And since i had bangs before, maybe i could just try them." "Oh you do?" It was kinda spoken in a mocking tone which made me stay quiet through out the rest of the session. Comments of my hair "actually feeling like hair now" was made here and there and it was also a, "okay, i get it. My hair is shit. I just want to leave now. One time was enough, thanks." I was thinking of leaving this out because again, I'm not sure what to make of it, but when the hair was finished with a smoothing oil, the stylist kinda hovered his hands over my head and went down past my shoulders (the long bob was neck length now) and down to my chest grazing the hands over "that area". My hair was not that long, so... why go that far? Like i said it was just weird and i didnt think anything of it. I thought i was more of a dramatic hand finish or something. Thinking about it now, i do question if the stylist was trying to touch my chest, but I'm just going to leave it as "the stylist was just doing a dramatic finish". Overall my hair nice and at a better state, i just wish that the process had not turn out the way that it did. read more

I just moved to Bremerton and was on the hunt. very picky about where/**WHO** i get my hair done by because of terrible experiences in the past. I then found @amandashairculture on instagram, and let me tell you, as soon as I saw her style and work, I was sold. My hair was feeling lifeless and I was excited to get rid of it. She cut inches off and I told her what I wanted but also that she could do whatever she wanted and I left her seat highly pleased! She cut off the general amount, shampooed and conditioned my hair, dry, cut, then styled it with waves for me great pricing for a cut from her * $50 asked her about dying my hair as well because I am for sure coming back! I'm conflicted about how to review Ross Michael's Salon. I have naturally curly hair and am very protective of it after a previous bad experience. However, after seeing how healthy a friends hair was after they did some 'fashion colors', I was willing to try. I scheduled my consult with Michael because he was the top colorist. The consult was great. I only wanted the underside of my hair dyed so I could maintain some professionalism. He talked about ways to make it look good and still pop a little without being too invasive. He then took a sample of my hair to see what they could do with color. I left feeling excited about my upcoming appointment. For my actual appointment things went really well at first. I wasn't able to go to the silver fashion colors because my hair wouldn't lighten that far, so I picked a couple of other fun colors that would work. We got my hair bleached out, dyed, and Olaplex'd and everything felt good and looked good. They did an awesome job on the color, no doubts about that. My issue comes after that. I didn't want my hair cut or any hot tools used on it. I see a curly hair specialist for my cut, and I follow the curly girl method for my hair (as previously stated, I had a really bad experience in the past and am now over protective of my hair). They were pretty insistent on drying and straightening my hair, so I caved. After my hair was straightened, they wanted to trim it because it wasn't straight and they asked how long it had been since I got a cut because it looked bad. I explained that I see a specialist for my hair and I got a kind of sarcastic "What, they just take one curl at a time and 'snip'!?". I'm not sure it was supposed to come off that way, but it irked me. Again, they were really pushy about at least trimming some of the fly-aways. So I let them. My fault again for caving. The icing on the cake for me... I went to go see about re-booking with the stylist my friend sees instead, but when I noticed they charged me $40 for a hair cut on top of my $200 color... I decided against it. It's too bad because they really do good work there, but the over-charge and pressure to do what they wanted isn't worth it. read more

I found this place through Yelp as I just moved to WA state over the summer and was looking for a new hairstylist in the area. The salon is located in downtown Bremerton. Plenty of free parking in the streets for up to 2 hours. The inside of the salon is very up to date with modern decor. I went in for the first time today and had my hair cut by the lovely Jacqui. My hair is mid-back length. I told her how short I wanted it cut, and let her have free reign on the details. I completely trusted her and she rocked it! Jacqui is good at what she does, has a great attention to detail, very thorough, and on top of that she is so personable and friendly. She not only blow dried my hair and styled it, but also gave me tips on how to achieve it at home. I highly recommend her to do your hair. You won't be disappointed! read more

I hate leaving bad reviews but I also hate having my time wasted as well so here goes.... I contacted one of the Stylist (J) via Instagram because I saw her work and I loved the quality. She responded quickly and asked me to come in for a consultation, which I agreed to. Came for the consult, we talked about colors for my hair and styles, prices etc. When it came down to the last second for scheduling, Stylist J recommends that I go see her unlicensed African American friend in a salon a few doors down. Keep in mind the appointment went just fine and Stylist J never made any sort of comment insinuating that she wasn't comfortable doing African American hair. She had ample opportunity to let me know her uncertainties and not allow me to come in for an appointment. *THIS PLACE DOES NOT DO AFRICAN AMERICAN HAIR!* If I wanted an unlicensed woman to color my hair I would've looked for that. I was simply wanting quality work from a professional and I was let down on top of my time being wasted unnecessarily. I don't want to be told to go to an African American to make me comfortable. I am comfortable with quality, professionalism and a licensed stylist. read more

Terrible first impression on behalf of Alissa. Apparently it is a reoccurring problem for her to constantly cancel appointments last minute. It is extremely disappointing and unprofessional. My hair was beautiful when I walked out of the salon but it only lasted 6 days until I had to wash my hair for the first time. All but the middle color had disappeared. I was aware that the fantasy colors were not permanent but highly disappointed after spending $$$$ for 1 week of coolness. I followed my instruction. I had a color consult with Alyssa to get my dark red hair lighter and brighter. She made it darker instead (at my expense!) and although she offered to fix it by lightening it after the fact, she screened my calls and repeatedly cancelled follow-up appointments, and "lost" them from her computer system even though I had text confirmations from the salon when I showed up at the salon. This as a huge waste of money and time as well as humiliating and unprofessional. read more

Monica is the best!! I came in with my fantasy hair in mind and she nailed it! What was also cool, my first visit they gave me 4 bottles, yes 4, of hair care products worth about $100 and a "wet" hair brush. All complimentary for my first fantasy hair coloring. I was so impressed with Monica on how delicate she was with my hair. Bleaching is so harsh and she did everything she could to be gentle on me. I've had stylists in the past that would be super aggressive brushing and stretching my hair. Monica took her time which I loved. She is definitely worth the drive! read more

I went to this salon with high hopes but was let down immensely, and left with a sour taste in my mouth. I got a haircut from Mike (the owner) and have seriously had better cuts from Supercuts.... after being in his chair for 15 minutes then he tells me that he needs practice on doing fades.....the end result was not that of a high end salon they claim to be. I should of went to his wife who I hear is much better. Also was not a fan of some of the inappropriate comments that he made. I will not be going back. read more

I went in this salon today for a hair consultation and the owner walks up to me and doesn't even say hi or introduce himself he just says is this your natural hair color which is a soft black and i said no. I told him i wanted blue balayage and he was nasty and rude and said no i will not do that, I will not touch your hair. I told him i sent an Instagram message beforehand asking if they will work with black hair and i was told yes, his response was oh no one would ever have said that. They are disgustingly rude and disrespectful and should not even be in business. I'm pretty sure the owner is racist too because the pictures on Instagram are only white people. I'm Asian and he automatically judged me and treated me like trash. read more

I absolutely LOVE the ladies who have worked here BUT I will never go back because of the horrible situations I witnessed between the two owners of the salon. I watched several racist comments be made, he talked down to his employees and fought with his wife on the floor while the salon was full of clients. I can't believe that clients are getting driven away because the owner can't be professional on any level. read more

Melody is amazing. I have been seeing her since 2006! I really love the new location and am very please with my hair every time I have it colored. I honestly would be giving this place 1 star if the owner wasn't extremely accommodating and very compassionate about the situation. This review is only for the lady that I went to see Mindy who I would NOT recommend to do your hair... I would also like to say I have never in my entire life been this upset with my hair. I've been to numerous types of salons lower and upper ends and this was by far the worst experience I've had with a stylist. Mindy is very nice I am not at all attacking her personality but her skills are lacking majorly. I came in with bayalage already. It was on the darker side with some Carmel pieces mixed in. I showed her a picture of what I wanted my hair to look like, which was on the lighter side. I wasn't at all expecting to get to that point at that appointment but would of liked to see some progression. The senior stylist was giving her tips in the beginning on how to accomplish it. So we began the process and all went well. Then things started to go downhill. She washed my hair and put some toner in it which she got advice from the senior stylist again. At the end of the wash we go back over and she has the senior stylist look at it and by this point her other client was waiting for their appointment. I overheard the senior stylist tell her that the brown may have leaked on the blonde portions as a possibility. And that is was rosey. So since the other client was waiting for Mindy the senior stylist took over and put more toner in my hair. We went to her station. And my hair was a reddish pink I was in COMPLETE shock because it was FAR FAR off of what I was asking. Not even close. the senior stylist said it isn't permanent it will come off. By that point I was in tears. I don't care if it is temporary you should not have your clients walk out unhappy and unsatisfied with their hair that was FAR FROM what they were asking. This is when the owner stepped in and he truly calmed me down a lot and was extremely compassionate and extremely friendly. He said I wasn't going to have to pay a dime for my service and he would make sure the next appointment I would be close to what I was asking. I talked it over with my husband and we won't be coming back. The owner was very nice and very accommodating but I had such a traumatizing experience there that I don't want to come back and so I'm going to be cancelling my appointment. I was there from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. and my hair turned out pretty much all brown even my previous balayage was out of my hair and I am not at all satisfied with the services that I had received. Plus my hair has already taken a toll on all the product that they had to put on my hair to even get it back to the brown point. Honestly if it were me and I owned this business and I do own my own business that lady would be fired. Nothing against who she is as a person she was extremely nice and extremely friendly but her skill sets I do not think are good enough to be in that salon . I have never had such a bad experience at a Salon before and I was amazed. I have had toners on my hair before and have never had an issue before. I've had my hair colored many different colors and I have never had that problem with anyone else. All in all if you do come here I would not recommend at all seeing Mindy. My recommendations would be Michael or his wife or Dani. I hate to leave these types of reviews but I don't want the same thing happening to another client in the future because it was very traumatizing. So now I'm at Square One and will have to find another stylist and get a Balayage done. I am glad that my hair is no longer red thanks to the owner. But, the fact that I came out darker than I came in previously. But just was completely unacceptable and I was there from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. read more

I've had a ton of people do my hair and I've never went back to someone twice because I've never been happy with it. Kristi is always quick & efficient. She actually cares about your hair and makes sure you're happy with it. Always knows exactly what I want and I barely have to describe it. The salon is really cute and comfortable as well. I wanted to like my hair coloring from Monica, I really did, but in reality it was the opposite of what I wanted. The "consultation" that they require was completely useless. I showed her pictures of what I wanted and she told me how she would accomplish it. Cool. The day of the appointment she showed me pictures of dark auburn colors which I told her I didn't want, and again showed her pictures of the light auburn color I wanted. She acknowledged that what I wanted was different than what she showed me and went to go mix the color. In hindsight, I wish I would've said something because the color she came back with looked purple and after she covered my roots, it was DARK. After she blow dried it, I was severely disappointed. The color in my roots looked purple and the rest was a drab brown. To fix it, she covered my hair in toner which covered all of the highlighting that she had done (and I had to pay for.) After she blow dried it, and 3 1/2 hours later, it was a dark auburn. I wanted to get out of the chair at this point, so I said I liked it for the sheer fact that it was different and left $200 out. I was hoping that it might fade, but 5 days later I hate my hair and it doesn't compliment me at all. Now I'm forced to either live with it or go somewhere else and pay another $200 to (hopefully) get what I ask for. read more
