We met with Greg Ross the owner of the company (after meeting with a few other folks) and we decided to go with his company.... as the pictures of his past projects looked good and his estimate was reasonable too. We decided to go with the Travertine Tile for the deck and the Azure Blue for the interior of the pool. We went to the warehouse that Greg works with and selected our tile. After that Greg and his posse took over and I must say I was surprised by their promptness and efficiency on getting the job done. YES they were done in exactly 1 week! In April 2021, Ross Services resurfaced my pool, installed new coping, pool deck, and Diamond Brite finish for approximately $18,489. 5 years later, the surface is peeling on the stairs with exposed metal visible underneath. This is a clear workmanship failure -- no properly applied pool surface should expose metal after 5 years. When I reviewed their BBB and online reviews, I found similar complaints from other customers about the quality of their work. Based on this pattern, I have no confidence that allowing them to return to repair the damage they caused would result in a satisfactory outcome. The workmanship on the pool deck was horrible.They did come back twenty nine times to fix ongoing issues. But the owner told me the last time he came out that he wont fix anything else. He raised his voice at me and yelled at me.Telling me that my dozens of complaints i left on his voicemail are embarrassing myself. my new patio surface popped up and peeled they had to come out and resurface parts of it a half a dozen times. The paint is still coming off. The tile was not straight inside the pool, and there is a dark stain in the pool from when they re surfaced it, still, and so much more. They came out at least tried to fix the problem. But the real problem with the deck being resurfaced hasn't been fixed. The only way to fix it would have been to take off the entire surface and start from scratch. And he didn't want to do that. So I have hollow spots underneath the material that they put on top of my deck and those hollow spots.When you step on em crack. When they lay crack water gets in there, and pops up the material, it's like a layer of cement pops up off the patio. His excuse to me was that my patio itself was hollow.That's why it sounded hollow. Tell me how a thirty five year old cement slab could be hollow, not possible. DON'T USE THIS COMPANY! Ross Services resurfaced our pool and installed a new deck in 2020. One year later, I called them back out because our pool had spots were cracks and holes formed in the diamond brite. It seems as though the bond coat did not hold. Ross Services said they needed to drain the pool, chisel out the problem areas and re diamond brite those areas. It took 3 different crews over a month's time. By then more than 60% of the pool had been chiseled out. I walked the pool and found many hollow spots that had not been chiseled out. I took pictures and videos. Jason with Ross services, was very difficult to deal with during the install and then during the repair process. I had lost my patience with him and demanded that the entire pool be chiseled out so that it can be re-done the correct way. I was concerned that the areas that had not been chiseled out were going to pose problems in the near future. Plus I had found several areas they hadn't chiseled out that felt hollow when you knocked on them. He said that, "it would cost too much and also come out of his pocket" to completely chisel out the pool and do the repair. I just couldn't wrap my head around the fact that Ross Services had messed up the resurfacing and weren't willing to fix the problem the correct way. It took 3 months of waiting and frustration for Ross Services to complete the job. Fast forward two years and we are experiencing the same problems. I noticed back in Nov-Dec 2023 we had a severe crack (14 inches long) in the deep end of our pool. The crack is now the size of a hole you can put your fist through. There are a few other areas where cracks and ridges in the diamond brite have formed. I'm so hesitant to call them back but that's probably where I'll start. I am now about 1.5 years out from my pool and patio remodeling by Ross Services and I am as happy as I was the day it was finished. We decided to do this job during the pandemic. I called about 10 companies and got estimates from about 4. Many that I called never returned phone calls or never came to the appointment to provide an estimate. Ross Services was extremely responsive. Their phones are answered (a rarity these days), messages were returned promptly and our contact with the company arrived on time to discuss the job and give us our estimate. Prices for all the estimates were comparable (remember, you will be living with the results for 10-15 years, now is not the time to look to save a buck). Ross Services had great reviews, but the clincher was when I was talking to a friend who recently had his pool redone down in South Miami. Since no one I contacted in Miami would even consider coming to Broward, I didn't even think about asking who did the job, I was really just asking about the remodeling process in general. He told me how much he loved his remodel and how great the company was. As an aside, I asked who did the job, and he said Ross Services. That clinched it for me. My contact at Ross Services was Joel. I like to call him "No Problem" Joel, because regardless of my request, the answer was always "No Problem". Me: Joel I want this particular travertine. Joel: No Problem. Me: I saw a pool tile I want online, not from your supplier, can you get it? Joel: No Problem. Me: I want to add about 50 feet to the patio. Joel: No Problem. You get the picture. Their followup after the job is horrible. The Pool eyeball return will no longer stay on as they covered the threads with the diamondbrite. I wish I could give no stars!!!!! My husband and I hired this company in May 2022. We had nothing but problems every step of the way. My husband wrote a review on google outlining ALL the issues we had but somehow there are no reviews to be found ‍. The reason why I'm writing again is because it has only been nine months and the new return lines that they installed are now leaking!!!!! I had to hire a separate company to come in and cut into the walls to repair and now I have patch work all around my returns. And the gentleman who did the repair confirmed it was leaking because the installers didn't glue the return lines to the pipes like they are supposed to (not surprised considering all the other issues). As soon as the repair guy chipped away the return lines the fittings fell right out. So now I'm out even more $$ and have patch work on my brand new plaster. Oh and to piggy back off that- our repair guy purchased the plaster "azure" to do the repair but it doesn't match the current plaster of the pool wall that was done by Ross. Ross Services went beyond my expectations. I'll start off by telling you that Justin Schmidt was our sales person / general contractor lead. He was great. Knowledgeable, Responsive and caring. He worked with our timeframes and he did not make promises that he could not fulfil. Our project entailed travertine tiles for my pool patio, a pool remodel / resurface and brick pavers for my driveway and two walkways. I chose Ross because they were one of the few companies where we could deal with one person for the complete job (which included the removal and then re-installation of accordion hurricane shutters across 6 sliding glass doors). When speaking with Justin, he told us that the two jobs would each take a week. We laughed---- but he was right. The pool and patio were done by a series of specialized swat teams. A different team to: Remove Shutters Empty Pool Lay Travertine Re-tile pool Install New Lights Resurface Pool Re-install Shutters For a 1,200 sq. foot patio, this was all done in a week. Justin came by each day to ensure all was going according to plan. And after the job was done, the last swat team member comes back to do the punch list items. This was Luis who replaced a few tiles we did not like, adjusted our spa waterfall and fixed a sprinkler line that was damaged during the install. It all came out beautiful. Due to supply issues, we had to wait until a month later to have the driveway pavers done. There again - One swat team to demo and pick up the old driveway then the second team to lay the pavers. This was completed over two days of work! And then again --- here came Luis to complete the few punch list items. I will tell you that they were not the cheapest bid we received. But we wanted one stop shopping for the two jobs and Ross Services and Justin provided that. Justin's suggestions for remodeling as well as tile colors were spot on. My wife and I are not easy to please, but Justin worked to make everything we asked for to happen. I recommend Ross Services highly. read more

I contracted Ross to rescreen my pool enclosure, redo the patio and resurface the pool. Their pricing was slightly more than piecing each part of the project, but I contracted because of the convenience of working with one integrated contractor plus the reviews I found were stellar. The good: Ross came out and did a beautiful job on the patio. Miguel was friendly and responsive. It was done quickly, much faster than I had anticipated. Same with the pool refinish. It looks beautiful. The patio was much more yellow/brown than the silver I ordered, but they attempted to fix that when requested by replacing stones, which I appreciated. The bad: They left cut tile and stone all over my yard. Trash was left everywhere. Even after I requested they come back to clean up, I have glass tile fragments all over the place. They left many bits of large debris in my pool that we are having to dive for in order to not clog the drain or pool vacuum. They destroyed my pool chemical basket. They broke my pool skimmer. There are droplets of cement all over the place. The color is still not what I thought I ordered, which, even as a natural stone, should be closer to gray. They cut off my gutters and did not put them back, so I will have to figure out how to manage that. The ugly: They bailed on the project. Once they completed the pool and patio, they refused to complete the screen as contracted. Said they mistakenly underbid it and it didn't make sense for them to complete it. They tried to get me to agree to have them patch the screens rather than rescreen the entire thing (which was a no go, as I had had opinions from several screen companies that it's falling apart and needs to be completely replaced). They claimed it would cost $12k to rescreen and $5k to patch, even though I had bids from two other contractors for $5k to rescreen and $1200 to patch. I agreed to let them walk away and not pay them the $5k I had had as a bid from another company just to rescreen. I am now waiting on another contractor to be able to schedule me, so I have been 4 weeks with no screen and no barrier for my dog, which means he's been locked inside most of the time now. I noticed today that the bottom framing of the screen structure is missing. I have inquired about it, but given my experience so far, I suspect they installed the patio over it and thus why it all of a sudden became impractical for them to do the screening. Either way, the screen company I will be using bid the project based on that framing being intact and drilled into the patio. I am not sure how much more this will cost me to replace, but I expect it won't be inexpensive since I have a massive enclosure. Please avoid this company. Their patio work is beautiful, but they've left me with a very expensive mess to clean up here. Had they been cheaper than other contractors, it might be less painful, but because I chose them, this project will end up costing THOUSANDS more for me, not to mention the immense hassle. read more

After seeing the beautiful patio they put in for our next-door neighbor, we contracted Ross Services to replace our old wood deck with a travertine tile patio. They did a beautiful job! The guys on their crew really get it done--working practically nonstop from early morning till almost dusk. The entire job--from the day we contracted with Ross until the last tile was laid down--took longer than we initially expected. This was because it took 3 months for the city to approve our permit. Joel, our contact person at Ross, had warned us that the permit process typically moves at a snail's pace, but it was even slower than we had prepared ourselves for. Once we had our permit though, the crew started the job the very next day. Another delay was waiting on the 2 inspections we needed at certain points during the process (The contractor's crew can't move forward to the next step in the construction until the inspector has approved the work done so far). Some of that delay was likely due to the COVID 19 pandemic, so we took it in stride. Our primary method of communication with Joel was through texts, and he always responded when we had questions or wanted an update on the inspection situation etc. I thought it a nice touch that he personally came out and met with the inspector during the second inspection. His crew cleaned up and hauled off all debris also, so there wasn't a single thing we had to clean up afterwards, and now we are enjoying our beautiful new patio! read more

Terrible experience. I had a concrete overlay done on my pool patio. Very unprofessional job. My pool was left so dirty it took over a month to get clean. Ross services suggested I just "keep the filter running". The concrete overlay is very sloppy with concrete frozen drips everywhere. They managed to get concrete in the baby gate holes and covered more than half of the screws I need to install my hurricane shutters. Additionally, there was paint on several parts of my screen enclosure and the non-slip portion was laid by hand instead of rolling it. My patio is like an ice skating rink. They came back a second time to lay more "non-slip" material and it's still dangerous. I've had several kids fall and have slipped myself several times. I called Ross Services several times and they could care less. Im very disappointed seeing I spent over $4 thousand dollars, and I find all the five star rating on here very suspect. A quality company that does a quality job! I was referred to Ross by two separate people, and I can see why they have such a great reputation. They changed out the pool skimmer, took up and relaid pavers that were settling terribly throughout my house, and then pressure washed and resealed all of the pavers. Eric was the project manager and is beyond excellent. He is a pleasure to work with, and not only is he always available, constantly checking on the job, any questions or concerns I had he simply said, "No problem. We will take care of it. Unfortunately a very bad experience. Had them seal the deck around the pool. They sent some lazy fat guy who sprayed instead of rolling and the residue ended up in the pool along with sand. Also, he must have done it when it wasn't dry, because it looks very bad. They did send someone in after to clean the pool, but the guy was almost two hours late from when he said he would be there. Project Begin 4/22/2022 Project Complete 6/8/2022 Days Elapsed = 46 Commentary: * Verbally* told the job should take about 7 days at the time of the quote. * Chose Ross Services over other quotes because of the time frame * Upon commencement of project we informed Ross Services that we would be going away 19 days post begin. We were verbally scoffed and were told 'no problem the project would be complete by then'*. Due to extended time frame: * Couldn't host events due to pool/patio situation * Patio furniture previously never not under cover - had to sit in yard. Pine trees, bird droppings and pollen had to be thoroughly removed before moving the furniture back in after nearly 50 days of being outside. * Outside BBQ equipment in garage - cars parked on driveway Observations: * Fixes to what had been done made the patio go from bad to worse** * Poor communication regarding when workers would be on property and slow response time when issues arose * Workers speak Spanish only; be sure someone can translate if you are English speaking * Wasn't informed that the deck surface would be slippery when wet despite the workers adding grit to the coating Overall Review: * Results of project are unprofessional and disappointing - would not recommend using Ross Services unless they make huge improvements in their Project Management skills. They have on hand a lot of the deck tiles, pool tiles, coping, pool plaster, etc. for you to make a selection of the pool renovation materials. If they do not have the material on hand they will request a sample for you. I renovated my pool deck and pool, and was told by Ross Services that it would take one week for the job to get completed. They kept their word and it took exactly one week for the pool and deck to get renovated. After everything was completed there were a few small imperfections that I had not noticed after completion of the work and final payment. Ross Services sent their repair tech to get the issues fixed. My inlaws did their pool renovation with a different company and their yard/pool is smaller than ours and it took them two months to have the project completed.
