Rotana Hookah Cafe has a nice, laid-back atmosphere with plenty of seating and TVs, making it a comfortable place to relax, work, or catch a game. The staff is also very friendly and welcoming, which definitely made the experience more enjoyable. Unfortunately, the hookah itself was disappointing. I ordered the Love 66 flavor, and it wasn't very good from the start. Within about 30 minutes, it became harsh and unpleasant to smoke. A quality hookah should last much longer without burning or losing its flavor. The atmosphere and customer service are solid, but the hookah quality needs improvement. Searched this place online and I'm convinced the reviews are from family members. Walked in and it had a lot of people there doing hookah, playing cards, etc, it is a hangout spot, not a lounge. They had old dirty looking couches, no entertainment at all (no music), you can bring your own drinks The staff member said. I asked to speak to someone as it was my first time and I had a few questions on how exactly the place worked and he was quick to brush me off so I left and went else where.. not very welcoming. Lots of hookah flavors to chose from. The hookah is cheap but also smooth and thick. Staff was very attentive and helpful with suggesting what flavors to mix. They also came by on their own to change the coals. This place is somewhere to hang out and smoke hookah but the ambiance could be better. There was people on their laptops hanging out smoking. Middle eastern from San Diego so I don't know the area well or if there is better hookah lounges here but I'd recommend as I travel for work and have stopped at some really terrible hookah lounges in other states. This is the 3rd week im coming here and I'm forced to watch a movie ! Absolutely ridiculous. The owner puts on a loud ass movie of his choice for him and his "girl" and gives his clientele no choice. Gave me star buzz when I specifically asked for Al Fakher (extra $5), charged a $5 "sharing fee" when it was just me and my husband, charged me for a disposable hose which I didn't ask for..im positive they don't add on all those bs charges to their own people. Servers and cashier are amazing so nice but the owner however has completely changed the vibe it is literally a movie cinema in here I almost blew out my at drum sitting inside here . There is not music playing at all it's foreign movies or foreign music playing when the clientele is mainly African American . Why have a lounge open if it's just for your own entertainment? Been coming here for a couple of years now and it has progressively gotten worse. The attendant to the hookahs are kind and friendly the cashier as well. However the person who seems to be the owner for the past couple of months has completely destroyed the vibe. He comes in with a couple of ladies turns off the music and puts on a movie on one screen and takes over the entire lounge. This continues on for hours, then starts to put on Mediterranean music which nobody else is vibing to. This place sucks now. Gonna find a better place to hang. read more

While not altogether a horrible experience, this little spot did leave a lot to be desired. Pros: the gentleman who helped us with our hookah was kind and attentive. He checked up on us often and continually kept us supplied. They also had an extensive flavor menu. Came to the lounge at 4 which is what the sign on the door said they opened call the number they have on yelp it was disconnected called the number on the door and a man answered his cell phone and when I asked if they were open said maybe 5-5:30 not sure and hung up.
