Rather than stare into the abyss of Gate Z-97, I did what any reasonable adult would do: I escaped on a train into town. Best decision of the trip. This place was an absolute oasis. Staff was warm, friendly, and spoke English (thank you, global civilization). Beer was exactly as advertised -- cold, honest, and doing the Lord's work. Food was excellent and arrived faster than my flight did. The place was immaculately clean, which I noticed immediately because that's what we do now. Even the bathrooms downstairs were spotless -- a bold move and one they pulled off flawlessly. If you're stuck in Frankfurt with a long layover, don't panic. Get on the train. Come here. Have a beer.
