!!! HIDDEN GEM ALERT !!! This meal from Roti Vybz was a VYBEEEEEE ohh man was craving some Caribbean food yesterday and this place hit the spot. Pictured here is their jerk chicken on island fry rice except I got half jerk chicken and half oxtail because you know yaaaa girl gotta try that oxtail at any Caribbean place she go ;) I honestly wasn't sure if they'd do it because I ordered through a food ordering app and put it in the special requests section BUT they came through for me !!! The jerk chicken had that perfect char and tasted super flavourful, I just wish there was a bit more of a kick to it! Nothing a little hot sauce on the side can't fix. The oxtail was just as flavourful and juicy, again just a bit more spice would've been nice lol! I am still SO glad I decided to do half and half, will definitely get a full serving of both meats next time! I also have never tried Caribbean fried rice before and I'm glad I did because I thoroughly enjoyed it. I will definitely be hitting them up again to try the rest of the menu including their rotis as well as a jerk chicken pasta that they offer !!! I was a bit apprehensive trying them for the first time but now that they won me over I'm sure the rest of their menu is just as bomb as this meal was :) The quantity was SO amazing too like literally you can't even see the fried rice underneath because of the amount of meat lolol my kinda place for sure ;) They're located in Streetsville I believe and are available on food ordering apps such as well as pickup/takeout so what are you waiting for ?! This is my first time eating from Roti Vybz. My go-to for jerk chicken is Chris Jerk in Scarborough, so that's my benchmark when I try a new place. They are apparently open till late at night, but by the time I got there at 5.45pm, they were out of most items, so the only thing I can review is their Jerk Chicken Dinner. I ordered a "large", which portion-wise, is akin to a regular for most other jerk places I've tried. In that sense, they were more expensive by a good $4-5 on average. For that reason, I score them a 3* for portion size & value-4-money. Taste-wise, I'd score them a 4*. The jerk flavour was complex, the chicken was well marinated, and the sauce wasn't overly salty - all pluses in my book. What took away points for me here was the rice & peas. The rice was bland, almost tasteless on its own. The flavour comes solely from the jerk sauce over it. The peas were the smallest peas I have come across at any jerk place - very small peas, smaller even than peanuts The macaroni side I didn't like at all. Neither did I like the so-called hot sauce, which was not at all hot. I had expected it to have some heat. Disappointing. But perhaps the most disappointing thing was the jerk chicken was Nowhere near hot, not even warm. A jerk chicken dinner should be a hot meal, and it wasn't. Will I try it again? - Yes, I will give it one more shot, at lunch time, and see if it tastes better when freshly cooked. And next time I will try the curry goat, too. read more

This place has pretty good reviews on Google so I went with it on Uber Eats; unfortunately my meal was not that great. I ordered oxtail with rice and peas and my food was soaked with so much gravy I couldn't even finish the rice. I didn't ask for extra gravy. My coleslaw was watery and actually spilled out into the food and container. My plantain was soggy and so I didn't even eat it. The jerk chicken was great. The oxtail meat was good but I couldn't enjoy my entire meal and it wasn't cheap. read more

I wish I could rate this restaurant as good food as I have eaten from here about 18+ times, sadly the truth is that their product is consistently inconsistent. I will no longer order food from here, the last 3 or 4 orders have been downright terrible, my last order was $25 overcooked rice and beans, scraps of overcooked chicken backs w/ 1 drum and no thigh and was sent with no coleslaw (they wrote me a note saying sorry on a piece of paper towel). I don't understand the reason that everyone of my last past orders quality have degraded to now downright terrible. When trying to call them and arrange a solution, as always, there phone is off the hook and mailbox is full. I will gladly seek further than Streetsville for good jerk now that I have given up on this establishment. I never write online reviews but this was so bad that something had to be said, if not to the owners of the establishment, to the world it is. Good luck and do better read more

Me n my roommate came here this past Sunday, ALL the way from BTOWN, after calling down 1001 west indian food restaurants in Mississauga/Malton/Etobicoke that were all CLOSED on a Sunday at 7pm. Like REALLY? Mandarin and pizza pizza stay steady open but NO Caribbean joints? SMFH. So of course you can imagine my sheer utter delight to find this NEW spot, after scrolling hopelessly through Yelp, that stays open til 11pm...!! NOW that's what I'm talking about. We got to the restaurant, which was a little hard to find bcuz it is at the back not the front facing the street. We had already placed our orders over the phone and only had to wait an extra 5 mins once we got there (total wait time about 15 or 20mins). It is a small space, not suitable for dine-in but then again who really eats their food inside an actual Caribbean restaurant vs in the comfort of your own four walls?!? Ok then! I had got the boneless curry goat with dhal puri roti ($12) plus a side order of fried ripe plantains ($2.50). The plantains was DOPE - 5 LONG thick slices, & NOT overripe and drenched in oil like some people like. The curry goat was really nice too, well flavored/spiced, not skimpy on the meat, good chunky potatoes. Oh the curry goat also came with a free side, either coleshow or potato salad. I had the potato salad and it was creamy/smooth and SPICED. Probably the best non homemade potatoe salad ive ever eaten. I will def be back to this joint! The owners are super friendly and because the place is now, they have these little coupons you can use if you come back to get 10% off your order or a free side etc. Next time I'm trying the curry chicken with paratha roti. read more

This review is based solely on the Jamaican Patties. Had a craving, what can I say? These were the best patties I've ever had. I will definitely come back here for more. The staff was very friendly but I will note they only told me after I had ordered and paid that there was a goat curry patty option! The menu does not say which types of patties are available so I assumed your regular chicken, beef, and spicy options. This is not eat-in; plan to get takeout. Note: The location is super sketchy. A hidden gem in my books! This place makes the best oxtail with rice and peas in Mississauga. Came in to do a take out on Friday night and they had to close early which was fine but they were still very accommodating. The only thing they didn't have that I wanted to try was their plantains. The place is a small joint where you can go in and order for take out or sit outside in the patio section, but there were no chairs when I visited, I'm guessing because they were closing. We ordered regular(they're small size but super filing) oxtail with rice, full (large size, very generous portion) jerk chicken, goat and beef patty. The oxtail was so tender and fall off the bone good! The jerk chicken was amazing! Never had it so juicy and flavourful like that. The patty had an amazing filing, but I wasn't to thrilled about the patty yellow pastry itself only because I've tasted flakier buttery ones. This was good but not crispy and flaky like I liked it to be. Prices were not bad at all, typical prices and generous portions. Overall this place is a MUST try! read more

I found this place using my "Yelp" app from Meadowvale Go Station, this place is 5 min. away. The place is new and still under construction. It looks like it will have an outside deck, as well as, an inside eating area. The first thing that got my eye was the pricing. I've eaten roti, all across the GTA and in the beautiful country of Trinidad & Tobago as well, so I know my roti. A basic chicken roti is $10. - that's definitely on the high side for a chicken roti. I can't say I've ever tried an Oxtail roti, so I went for that, even if it was $14. You'd think for a $14. roti, you wouldn't encounter bones in the roti but, this had the Oxtail bones in the roti - not making it easy to eat. If you're selling a $14 roti, you have to remove the bones. With the higher pricing, I was expecting an extra large roti but, it was no bigger than an average roti, that I've eaten in the past. All in all I thought the roti is average and over-priced but that's just my opinion. read more

The food is great. But the service is lacking. Even calling ahead to pick up. No one picks up the phone. Even when I get through and place an order, told it'll be ready in 20 mins and when I arrive they haven't boxed it yet. Now I have to wait 20 more minutes. Why even bother calling ahead? I don't understand. I'm happy you guys have opened, and I wish you all the success. But seriously. Get some better people in there or a better process. read more

Amazing! We tried this place bc we bought an online wagjag deal! This is a new restaurant in Mississauga since November and it is amazing! Very authentic! We ordered the family meal and our two mains were jerk chicken and goat curry! I cannot remember when I had such a tastey jerk chicken and the goat curry was so tender it just fell apart. Adam who took care of us when we arrived to pick up the order we had placed on line was very friendly even though he was very busy answering the phone that would not stop ringing. I had the goat roti here and let me tell you it was the worst roti I have ever had. I asked for boneless goat but they ran out and gave me a roti with goat bone in. There was more bone than actual meat and the flavour was not up to par. This place has nothing on Shandra's Roti shop. I paid 14 dollars for this goat roti and after 2 bites I threw it out. Do yourself a favour and go to Shandra's Roti Shop and avoid this place, it's garbage. Their hot sauce sucks as well. This place is a joke. read more
