Roto-Rooter recently replaced the main sewer line at my vacation home that ran 100 feet from the house to the city sewer. There were a few complications - rural location, small aspen trees in the path and a camera was required to diagnose the problem. But still the job was very basic. I had to arrange for the work from out of state and I am sure the company understood I was in a jam to get it done before my family arrived. In fact, I flew from Georgia to Colorado for the sole purpose of getting this work done. They indicated the work would take up to one week. In fact, it was done in ONE DAY! They gave me an OUTRAGEOUS price of $26,000 and I paid it because I had few other options. I have since done the due diligence I obviously should have done before I signed up, and talked to other plumbers and found out just how OUT OF LINE this price was. My trust in the fairness of Roto-Rooter and this branch of the national organization was grossly misplaced so BUYER BEWARE! read more

I scheduled an appointment August 4 and they couldn't get out till Monday, August 8 I waited all day as they then called them at 2:30 pm they told me that the plumber would be here by 3 PM probably.. @ 3:20 office person called to cancel. I wasted a whole day off work! They didn't offer me a discount and no apology. How unprofessional! I have used Roto Rooter several times in the last month, and I have been very satisfied with their service. I called them recently and was very disappointed with how the appointment went, I trusted them to provide the service I had come to expect. I made an appointment a week earlier for my day off from work for the next week. My time is important, I needed a main sewer line cleared which is a constant problem in this old house. On the day of my appointment a person showed up and all he did was tell me what the plumber would do when he came out because this person was not a licensed plumber. I ended up having to take a day of vacation from work to get a job done that I had made an appointment a week earlier for my day off so it would not interfere with my job. They did finally get the job done and all is well. I may rethink calling them again to clear a sewer line. read more

After some consideration, I went with a different plumber, due to the lack of a call back from Roto Rooter. An oversight by one person cost me time due to the follow-up calls but should not fully represent the rating of the entire organization. I therefore changed the rating to three stars with the recommendation that if ANY other prospective customers encounter silence when awaiting a call back quote - a one-star would show their weak management. read more

Out toilet was backing up from toilet to tib back and forth. Cool sewage line clog way to easy to shove a snake with a cam and pull out the wet wipes my roommate shoved down the toilet. Was QUOTED $99 for the unclog service OVER THE PHONE. Set up an appointment with my local shop and they got a guy out the next day even showed up early. Guy shows up says its $275 for the FIRST TWO hours and $275 AN HOUR AFTER. He said it might be 2-6 hours. Like are you kidding me its not a hard unclog guys. WAY overpriced. read more

I first called about a problem with my diverter in my shower and was told to take a picture od it and go to ABC plumbing for parts and scheduled an appointment for next week. Next week came and he to me it was more work than he thought. Mind you he did not look and much to mak that determantion. Said to rereschedule again also did not look at the parts I got from ABC plumbing was the correct parts or not. Like a fool I called to get a price on a simple kitchen install I had the sink that came with all the needed parts. The only plumbing change tha needed to acccomidate was because of the hole in the shink being in the center. He came back after taking to his boss and said his boss said $1,600 but he would do it for $1,200 I showed him the DOOR. These people ar nut's. Don't let them waste your time aswell. This was at most around a 3 Hour job with maybe $30 to $40 in parts .I am a senior living on SSA to have someone try to take advantage of you in this way is soul crushing! Shame on them! We need a good recession to get these peoples heads out of there A**! read more

Our washer and kitchen sinks were backing up into our tub and we tried all the drain cleaner to help but nothing did. I requested service online and had a call with an hour or so. Tech came out, snaked the pipes and was all done. Upfront with the costs and any other potential costs and was awesome. Yikes!! I couldn't get an estimated price on the phone to clean out the main line. The guys show up & quote me $238. This is literally a 10 minute job, that we have done twice a year. The last time we had roto rooter do it for us it was $90. We ended up refusing the service. There are way too many companies that do this type of thing in Pueblo to pay that high of a price. read more

I called Roto Rooter out for a main line Rooter. I was never quoted a price before work started and when I asked, the amount was $250 less an online coupon I found for $20. A week later my main line was backing up again and I had a real plumber snake the pipe. If Roto Rooter is going to charge this high of a price initially one should expect them to do it right the first time. I called Roto Rooter to let them know what happened and all they said was thanks for calling. read more

My window wells weren't draining. I called Roto-Rooter. I ended up needing some pipes rerouted. Thousands of dollars later... and the job is almost done. They needed to come back to hydro jet the pipes. They couldn't do it at the time of payment because the weather was too cold. They were supposed to come the following week. I paid them for the service with their word that they would come back. Well, they never came back. I had made acquaintances with one of the workers and called him to ask why I hadn't seen anyone. He told me the manager who I worked with and made the payment to had left the company and they got new management. I don't care about that. That's none of my concern. I paid Roto-Rooter not the manager for the job. Why is switching it a manager an excuse to not finish a job? It's simple: I just need the job that I paid for to be finished. So I called Roto-Rooter and explained the situation. They said they were not aware that it hadn't been done. That the job had been paid for and the manager who worked on it was no longer with the company. Again, not sure why that is my problem. We ended the conversation with the receptionist assuring me that someone would be out as soon as the weather got better. Fast forward a month and a half later with multiple calls to Roto-Rooter and assurances from Ms. Debra (the receptionist) that someone should be coming out and nothing. No one came. I called again today 1/4/19 and Debra snapped at me that the work had been done on 12/27/18. Not likely Debra. I work from home and have territorial dogs. There is no way I would have missed someone approaching my property let alone do work on my property. No one came. And if they had, which they didn't. But if they had, why would they not ring my doorbell to let me know they would be entering my property. Roto-Rooter you allow your workers to enter gates without consent? Interesting. Well, Shame on you receptionist Debra. And shame on you Roto-Rooter. Lying and cheating isn't good business. It seems your management was the least of your issues. read more

I called these guys on the weekend for a rental property and they are a total rip off. He wanted to charge me $4200 to install a cleanout which is about $20 worth of plastic pipe. Do not use them and I would report them to the district attorneys consumer affairs unit. After doing extensive work for me, these people sent me an e-mail stating my plumbing had been approved by the state inspector. Once I requested a final building inspection, though, I was told that the plumbing had not yet passed inspection. I had already paid abt seven thousand dollars to them. After attempting MANY times (both myself and the state plumbing inspector) to have them complete the inspection, I gave up and had to take a day off of work (and pay) to meet the inspector myself. There were problems that I had to pay SOMEONE else to do in order for the plumbing to pass inspection. Also, they left two large piles of cement and rebar I had to pay to have someone else remove. All of these services were to be included in the original work/quote for which I had already paid! read more
