Cheap gas, takes credit cards, and a massive whiff of buttery biscuits and fried chicken LINGERING from Popeye's across the street as you pump. I think back to 1977 when I had my first car, rather VW Bus, and needed gas, smokes, and soda. Rotten and Ms. Robbie to the rescue. Back when Saratoga Lanes was "the" place to be, Rotten Robbie was the place to buy smokes and get $5 in gas (almost 1/2 a tank in the "day") and start your destination. Fast forward 33 years and I have moved back into the immediate neighborhood and the Robbie franchise is still going as strong as ever. Thank you Robinson Oil for being a Silicon Valley institution and keeping the home fire burning. I quit smoking but not getting my gas and occasional beverage of choice. read more

This review is only in regards to the poor customer service from the Manager, Sabu, at this Rotten Robbie. I went in to the store and asked for 2 $5 bills in exchange for a $10 bill. Sabu opened up his register and said he did not have any fives. I could clearly see from where I was standing that there were $5 bills in the register. I did say to him that I could see them. Then he stated that it was for customers only. He did not say, you will need to buy something in the store in order to get change. I perused the aisles and picked up a protein bar. As I approached the counter, he walked away to talk to another employee. He then came back, rang up the merchandise, gave me the change and did not say a word. I was expecting a "thank you" or a pleasantry. He was rude and definitely not meant to be a store manager, or a representative of Rotten Robbie. read more

I went to the store tonight to get a pack of Nat's cigarettes. There were plenty of the "special offer" coupons where the cigarettes were on the shelf. Gopinee the cashier told me that the store manager has told her she can not use the coupon !!! I asker her why ? !!! She said "You are the customer and I am the cashier, manager told me I can not give coupon" !!! I said you have Special offer coupons, why don't you give me one ? She said the manager is here Monday to Friday from 6 AM to 2 PM !!! Special offer coupons she showed me + she can't give me the coupon + I am the cashier, you are the customer + Manager is here from 6 AM to 2 PM !!! I asked for the manager's business card and she didn't have one ! Am I missing something here ? I really like all the other people working here, but Gopinee is different !!! I went to the other Rotten Robbie on corner of Saratoga and Williams and was given the Nat's with the special offer discount !!! I hope the owner contacts me ! I've been coming here for two years and loved everyone. However today was a different story. 4/10 at 9:45 I came here and the card reader was not taking my card. I go in to pay. There was an older gentlemen, african american, with white hair and facial hair. I told him I wanted $12 on 7, that I came in here because the machine wasn't working. The guy took my card, typed some things on the regrister then proceeded outside. I followed him because he just took my credit card. He inserted in the machine WITHOUT MY PERMISSION. It went through and he then toldme to insert my zipcode. I was uncomfortable with him standing there watching me because it's still private information. He then proceeded to say you don't know how to use a credit card. I told him I do and he said apparently I didn't since it went through with him. I told him I did and i've been coming here for 2 years and never had a problem with the machines till tonight. He starts walking away saying I obviously did not. I cancel the transaction on the pump because I do not want to spend money at a place that was so rude to me. I was then charged 39.39 on my credit card. WHEN I BOUGHT NOTHING. All I wanted was $12 on my pump by the guy ends up taking it and walking away and insert it into a machine without my perimission. He never once told me "I'll show you." He just took my credit card and tried to look at my code. When I didn't comply he insulted me by saying I obviously didn't know how to use a credit card. My whole family of 6 comes here for gas since it's so cheap but honestly because of this we will be going to a different gas station. I hope the 39.39 will be returned to me and the rude cashier would be dealt with. read more

The pump for the gas did not take my cc card, so I went inside to pay for it. Everything is fine until the cashier keep stare at my card. I felt kind of suspicious , seen like he try to memorize my cc card numbers, Probably try to buy gas from other place next time. read more

Even though lines were long, the employee was very nice and very quick and efficient. I started going to this station (corner of Saratoga & Graves Aves.) when the Bill of Fare station closed for remodeling. The card readers on the pumps are habitually broken which makes me wonder if someone isn't tampering with them. Two out of 3 times that I've come here, they've 'short' changed' me by $1. Today - the cashier rang up the amount as $400!!! (forgot that I gave her $41.03 to cover the purchases so I'd get an even $13 back..... rang up the change as $373 and gave me $12!! Suspicious place. This Rotten Robbie gas station is conveniently located right across from the mall that houses Target and Walmart. Latest pricing is 2.73 per gallon without membership card, which still beats Valero hands down. With membership card, you can pay 10 cents less per gallon. Aside from the great pricing, the convenient location has made this place my new favorite to-go gas station. This place takes both debit and credit card, and to use the membership card, you have to tie your debit card to the membership card. Usually, I recommend people to refrain from using debit card due to the higher chance of illegal card swiper at gas stations. read more

this place is awesome. the people who work here are all very nice. especially the manager who is on one of the magazines to the right of their register holding a fish. you cannot go wrong with $3 for 2 rockstars/ monsters. i work across the street and we go there all the time. we only go here for the mini mart though. i cannot say anything about the gas though. read more
