Almost always the cheapest around and always pump at a rotten Robbie whenever in California. Their employee Karina at the Santa Nella Rotten Robbie is a really hard worker. I always see her cleaning the bathroom. I'm always around that area and I see her cleaning all the time and always doing stuff outside making sure that the service station for the trucks are maintained. All the trashes are taken out. Time for a fuel refill! There were three other gas stations practically next to each other, but this was the cheapest and most convenient. It was also the most popular among the three. I suspect it's because of the price point. (It was a lot more crowded than the other two!) Hubbers went into their store and found tons to munch on during the long trip. I noticed a line. There's a sign outside that states everyone must be wearing a mask and there's a limit of 5 customers at a time. There was more than 5 customers and all 3 employees were not wearing a mask inside. Half of the customers were also not wearing a mask. This was surprising since it's the first time I see this. Rotten Robbie... as if the name doesn't say it all? Unlike its namesake this place has some good and bad qualities to it. I am just not a big fan overall. However when flying up or down the 5, this is one of 2 or 3 acceptable spots to stop in Santa Nella. The others are the Arco, Valero, and Flying J truck stop. This place is however my least favorite of the three, but if I want to stop on the west side of the freeway, RR is usually a cent cheaper and the Valero, but the quality of the stop goes down unless you are just getting gas. Pro Tip: Check the line length as you get off the freeway. If they are short, pop in, if they are not, go elsewhere =) They have a small c-store here that is filled with the barebones basics and minimal restrooms (one toilet per sex). The place is kinda clean, but not the best. It is nigh impossible to have a well kept restroom that is so small with so much use IMHO. They have a large number of pumps and the gas is decent. The price is right and they are within $.02 of the cheapest in Santa Nella whenever I have checked. The gas isn't substandard and has never given me issues while I am on the road. This place is known for cheap gas and theyve got it. jus watch out in the store. This place dosent have great pit stop qualities; the bathrooms are small so many people come in and out and there are only 2 pots??? Theres not much in here to eat. Go 2 any of the other truck stops in Santa Nella if you want to pee get gas and eat in one stop. read more

Chase, the store manager according to his name tag, was a delightful fellow. As I entered, he was out on the floor helping an elderly gentleman get bottles of Coke out of the refrigerated case. He called out a cheery greeting and let me know that he'd be right with me . He even opened the caps for the old man as he had hands that looked as if arthritis had wreaked havoc upon them. He kept up the friendly banter as he helped me, and again as I returned for the change. It's nice to know customer service, and chivalry, are both alive and thriving in this little oasis off the I-5 Freeway. The gas is super cheap. The facilities are clean as a whistle. The convenience store is tiny, but packed full of munchies and beverages to please everyone in the car. I filled up my tank for a song, and left with a smile on my face. Isn't that what it's all about? Bravo, Chase! I'll pass the smile along on my next stop as I continue the long drive home. read more

How can you not buy gas from a place called Rotten Robbie? I didn't go into the store, but it looked busy, so I take that as a good sign. It was well-lit (which I appreciate in a gas station along the road), and everything seemed to be in good working order. This is one of the cheap spot's for gas in the area & although it does have a truck filling station area-it's not by far a full service truck stop area. If you want more than just gas (restroom,snack's, etc.), go over the I-5 overpass to one of the 2 full service truck stop's that has everything a traveler would want/need (including cheap gas). read more

I don't expect much from gas stations, but I went in to pick up an energy drink and I was unexpectedly greeted with a smile and, "Good afternoon, young lady!"
