We should not be forced to throw away their garbage week after week. It is also TERRIBLE for the environment to be printing a 10 page booklet of mostly ads, and shoving it down the throats of everyone in a major city like Schenectady. I will also either be contacting the police next, or the attorney general. They cannot keep taking advantage of people like this.

There are not a lot of frills in the store, and it's not for collectible figures and random stuff like that. It's comics and a comics guy. Lots of new stuff. Butt tons of back issues. Of course, the problem with the store like this is space doesn't allow things to be displayed easily. Which is why you need The Comic Guy. (Note: The Comic Guy could be of any race or gender, obs, but does tend to be a quirky cis white dude.) He offered general, generic help when we walked in. And then when he saw Hubbo might be looking for something he checked in again. And then he knew what he had and where it was. Awesome.

But printed news still holds a place in my heart. I always look forward to Wednesdays when the new issue appears at local businesses all around the Capital Region. You can't beat the price. Free is free. And there is something much more satisfying about reading a tabloid paper than scrolling on the phone. Part of that is that I'm less inclined to be distracted from whatever story it is that I'm currently reading. This week's issue has a great piece on Lark Street's vegan joint in addition to the amazing show at Albany Center Gallery. Speaking of the arts and events, as much as I enjoy the Yelp events tab, The Alt's event listings are fantastic. As the paper matures, I'm sure it will become just as indispensable as its predecessor, and its content will beef up. But until then, this is a very welcome voice on the local media scene.

Since that time, I am receiving a daily newspaper but no paper on Sunday. Today is the second Sunday I am missed. I asked Friday if we are missed again today, what number should I call to get a paper. I was told 518-395-3060. I was on hold for 20 minutes, figuring out after that amount of time, there is no one to answer that phone. We have received the Gazette for approximately 50 years. This is the worst service I can imagine. I'm ready to quit once and for all. Can anyone who knows what they are talking about and promising, do anything about this?

Al Arnold, Market 32 Wilton Floral Manager:…read more I have requested floral boxes for the past 5 years from Al to transport (over a 4 week period during the summer racing season), 240 bagged lunches prepared by volunteers for the St. Cement's Outreach Program and tranported to the Rec Hall on Union Avenue in Saratoga Springs. The lunches are to welcome Backstretch families coming up from Belmont to visit, for the day, their family member working here during the summer racing meet. On the two alternating weeks("Dark Days") bagged lunches are made for a bus load of workers traveling down to Belmont to be with family or attend to business. As trivial as it sounds, these boxes could be discarded once unloaded but Al and his staff are so accommodating and thoughtful regarding our project. It certainly adds a warm touch of support and community involvement to our group located within the Saratoga Springs community.
