Stopped in here for lunch. I was in town for work and the options here are pretty limited. I was surprised to see poke bowls on the menu so I decided to give it a shot. The ingredients were fresh and the tuna was a decent grade. The portion was a bit on the smaller side, but still filling. The folks that work here and very accommodating and very friendly. They have an outside area where you can sit that feels a bit like a courtyard and is very relaxing on a nice day. Inside the decor is clean and has an industrial vibe. read more

This place is an oasis of fresh in a town full of What a burgers and tacos. Really good sushi and Wok bowls with tasty sides and apps. We also had a great dessert. I tried this Japanese restaurant with friends a month ago upon the recommendation of a co-worker. I had high hopes for this local eatery but it was a big disappointment for me. I am Asian and have eaten Japanese food countless times. This one is rated two stars. Their miso soup was watered down and for their lunch offerings, their chicken was was not tasty at all. The lunchbox had more rice than chicken. I won't be going back to this place. There are better choices elsewhere. read more

My wife and I have been dining at Round Eye for 3 years now and we love it. Almost everything we have found there has been very good (only thing we didn't like was their calamari, which they were experimenting with and since we were regulars they asked us to try it). Having lived near Beaumont, Texas for years and gotten accustomed to the sushi at Tokyo house there (listed as one of the best sushi restaurants on the gulf coast by Houston Chronicle) we were thrilled to find Round Eye. We both love sushi and never dreamed we would find anything worth mentioning closer than Tyler or perhaps Longview. Amazing to find such great sushi this far inland. They have another location in Paris, Texas and while we have not eaten there I am certain that it is just as good. Oh yes and they hold to the original Japanese notion that sushi was a common person's food and so the prices are really VERY reasonable too. Win. Win. read more

We were driving through on a cross country trip and read good reviews on this place. Its near I-30. They have outdoor seating and the friendly staff welcomed my little dog on the patio. First time there and it most definitely wont be the last! My daughter and I went in for lunch not really knowing anything about sushi. Still don't know a great deal about sushi but I know that we experienced some of the best food we've eaten in a restaurant anywhere. Fresh, great flavors & textures. Enough options to keep you coming back and trying something new for a long time. For those who say they won't eat raw fish so refuse to try sushi... you're in luck! Sushi is nasty and overpriced and the owner is extremely rude and an all around jerk. Not sure what her problem is but is constantly looking to make enemies in the community. Go to Mt Fugi, better, fresher sushi and great prices and the people appreciate the business. Not like this dump. read more

We stopped here as we were walking past & I remembered it from a DayTripper TV show episode. Excellent service - extra like chips and delish dipping sauce. Sushi looked great - we had the Texan roll (like on the Day Tripper) the beef was amazing, tender & melt in the mouth. Their dragon rolls and cucumber salad were really good. I wasn't a very big fan of the fried rice or miso soup.

I was here on business and found Round Eye on Yelp and glad I did. A nice unexpected find. The sushi was good as was the miso. I had the Rainbow Roll and will try a bit more spicy roll on next visit. If anything the fish pieces could be a bit larger. Owners and staff were very friendly. I will come back when here next. Too bad there is no Saki. read more
