The food is decent. It's the only place where you can get sushi in Hawkins so for what it is it's alright. Could definitely be worse. The service on the other hand is awful. I have been left on "hold" multiple times for over 10 minutes. I know that it could be a rush but it should never get busy enough for a 10 minute hold. One night there was at least and hour and a half until close and I called 6 times to place a pick up order, there was never an answer. I've tried to order on door dash to pick up and it wouldn't work. When I go and sit down for a meal I get my order taken, my food brought to me, then checked on once while there is no one else there and they are sitting on their phones in the back booth. I just want sushi but the workers can't do their job. I still tip well but it's very unfortunate they get to sit on their phones and play games while I wait on them. read more

Everyone was very nice the spot was so cute near all the tall trees. I really wished the 80$ total was worth it but the rice was moist like they added way too much water. the sushi was ok. We also got bento boxes the steak was so overcooked could barley chew it. The teriyaki chicken looked like it came out of a bag. Im just gonna drive into Tyler next time. read more

Small venue, seating capacity is approximately 45-50 people. The menu is extraordinary, with Chinese, Italian,American, Mongolian and Special ordering. The quality of food exceeds any other similar restaurants in the Hawkins and Winnsboro, Quitman, Lindale, Gilmer and Emory. BYOB is required for alcoholic drinks. The prices for the quality and quantity is less expensive than most of the other restaurants in the area. read more

Mario's in Hawkins has been around for years. I have been a loyal, mostly happy customer since I discovered it a few years ago. However, because of some recent experiences there, I felt compelled to do this review. The food here is usually very tasty, although recently there has been a decline in the quality of the appetizers, such as the spring rolls. They are often over cooked, which affects the taste & texture. Another complaint I have: the size of the entrees, which have SHRUNK considerably. I know food prices have gone way up, but I would much rather pay a few dollars more for the same size entree, than remain hungry because the portion size has shrunk so much. On the "to go" styrofoam containers, they spread out the entree all over the bottom of the tray to make it look larger. But when I add rice to the entree, I realize how much smaller the entrees are these days... and they consistently truly appear 50% smaller than last year's size. Another concern: being mis-charged for my orders. In the past two months, I have been charged on two different occasions for someone else's order. The first time I was under charged, and the second time I was over charged. To avoid a headache, please check your bill prior to handing over your credit card. In conclusion, I still enjoy the food here. I continue to return, although not as often, because of the issues listed above. In my opinion, the staff/owners of Mario's are becoming more stingy with portions and more frazzled trying to satisfy customers with limited staff (resulting in billing errors) and I do not expect any improvement any time soon. read more

Food is always great and the service is very friendly. They have a wide range of food to order and the daily specials are always great.

This place is a hidden treasure! It is nothing big and fancy but it is a clean, quite and quaint little place. The food is very reasonably priced for what you get and they have the most amazing asian food! You can BYOB or you get 2 complimentary margaritas with each meal. We ate there 2 times in one day because it was that good. Definitely deserved a 5 star. read more

Wow! What a hidden gem this place is! Everything we had was AMAZING! Why did it take us so long to eat here?!? They also had live music which was great! The food came out fast and fresh. It was super busy when we came with every table full but Mario was awesome and took great care of us. We will be back for sure! We didn't know this place was BYOB so next time we will bring some wine. Thanks for a great dinner! Also if you do not care for Chinese food they have other specials that looked good too. One of the best restaurants in the area for wide variety from Asian to American. The hot and sour soup is complimentary and weekends they have Sushi rolls. Music is very common on Friday or Saturday nights. Mario aims to please with great food and service. read more

Been here a couple times and both were great. They provided good service and generous portions. The cream cheese rangoons are homemade and are delicious. We've tried their Asian dishes and they are great. They are tasty and not out of the box or fast food Asian. The fried rice is tasty as well. This doesn't look like much but the food is very good. You can byob too which is a big plus. Inside the atmosphere is kind of tight. Not a big place but it's not like a greasy spoon either. Seems they care mostly about the food and it's a variety of Italian and Asian. Kind of a fusion place. Worth a try! read more

We have eaten here twice and wewe pleased both times. The General Tso's Chicken was delicious, just the right touch of heat and sweet. And the grilled pork chops last night were excellent....just like my mother cooked them, with grilled mushrooms and onions, and delicious mashed potatoes and green beans. The variety of foods offers good choices for whatever mood strikes. We saw pasta, fish, and american favorites on the menu or as specials of the day. You won't be disappointed! read more
