I think I caught on five minutes before when I was helping this lady fill out her registration papers. You see, English was her second language, so I was helping her, and that's how I found out I should be filling out papers, too. I told her she needs to be helping me. But it got worse on my end and the lady's end that I was helping. I got to the counter, and the nice lady told me we were supposed to be filling out the New State Registration Papers. So, with all that being said, the process did not take no more than 30 minutes. It was still a quick process. Yes, I suggested taking another number and starting from scratch, and the process was still fast. Now, let me tell you a little about the building. I parked toward the front. But that isn't where you go inside. The front door is in the back of the building. I parked in the wrong area. Also, as you go inside, you can use your phone to get a number or check in on the computer. Also, there are two lobbies--one to the right and one to the left. You can't see the one to the right. So if they call to come to counter five, go to the right.

Additionally, the municipal court's system is highly inconvenient; I was advised by a clerk that citations cannot even be viewed for a week due to department delays in uploading paperwork. All I had to do was head to the forms on the wall and select the one that applied to me (there were three to choose from and the options were very clear). Clipboards for filling out the forms were plenty at the reception desk. Additionally, the form was very straightforward. There are plenty of seats in the waiting area and clear signs tracking customer numbers for service. The DPS counters for customer service are hidden from the waiting area with temporary walls, providing customer privacy. That said, there are clear signs posted indicating the number of each employee's counter to help customers go to the right person. Customer numbers are clearly announced when it is their turn. The employee who assisted me was amiable and efficient. He appreciated that I was prepared with appropriate documentation and a completely filled out form. Taking my new driver license photo was easy; however, there was only once chance for it, so I had to accept the one that came thru. But it's not meant to be a glamour shot, so no reason to complain! Paying happens with the employee, and that was super easy. Overall, this is a great location to renew driver licenses!

Make sure all of your paperwork is in order and you'll have no hiccups. The only downside is making the appointment online and it's either next month or more for the earliest availability. I did overhear some people walk in without appointments and was given one sooner than they would have gotten if they did it online.
