Package they shoved into my tiny mailbox.

I've lived at two different addresses serviced by this particular post office. At the first home, they hit our basketball hoop, left a note, then once we contacted them, they refused to make it right. They told us it was in the middle of the street. It was up against the curb just like the other three up and down the street. At my next address, instead of individual mailboxes we have mailbox banks. They shoved my marked-fragile package into the tiny box. I had to cut the box and get it out and as I yanked it out, the product inside was broken. There is a package lockbox as part of the mailbox! A tiny bit of extra effort would have gone SO far. And why bother to call in a complaint. They'll blame the customer. Again.

Great customer service here today and no line! There were three customer service reps happily helping customers. I went in with about 25 envelopes needing to be weighed and the postage calculated. The rep who helped me was friendly rather than frustrated. He was efficient, which made my visit enjoyable and easy.

I've had a wide variety of experiences at this PO in the past 24 years-yes THIS is my PO. Some of the employees who were "interesting" have retired, now there's a mix-new and "established" employees working at this locale. Within reason I do understand-the USPS has to compete with many others now. I wish I could evaluate my actual postal carrier-currently our carrier is questionable but friendly. The employees at this location are nice-today I heard them apologizing to customers for the wait, and another repeatedly asking if anyone was just picking up mail, etc to help move things along. Sounds like a good day. Today I was able to do everything 1-at home then 2-self drop. It is very frustrating that my mail hold (clearly done for more than 3 Biz days) was NOT followed. Heck, the mail wasn't held. I'm very Thankful that I had no packages delivered (according to my USPS Informed Mail Service). However holds should be followed. At one point this location would have received 1 star due to lack of helpful employees inside, slow processing, and-as the home of my carrier-incorrectly delivered mail. Now they are improving. I'm very happy I can do (almost) everything online and at home-I'm not running a Biz. Maybe that helps out the load, who knows. I'll keep sending (and receiving LOL) mail, so I'll keep updating this. And with hope, more stars will be earned. Hope is a wonderful feeling!

I have low expectations for a post office, but the gentleman working the counter somehow was even worse. Abrasive, and unhelpful.

They'll tell you it is not their fault (blame the main Hub, blame weather, blame whatever) but I track every package. I watch mail destined for the east coast get sent to Denver first. Mail I send to the west coast ends up in Jersey City. There are NO refunds for Priority Mail, they just accept your money, don't provide the service, and it's tough luck for you. The only person to blame is yourself for giving them your money. Separately, I've received crushed packages, no packages, and a family 3 blocks away share my same house number so we exchange wrong packages frequently; I'm lucky those people dependable, unlike the USPS. I have tried to support my local post office for many years now. Remember how we were encouraged to buy stamps and anything else to keep the USPS afloat? I'm old school; I did it all. Now I'm done. I should have learned my lesson long ago. I'm incredibly frustrated and disappointed. It's such a shame too because the clerks who have customer contact are some of the nicest and friendliest people I've met, and I've seen their faces for many years. They must take all the heat for late and missing mail. I will miss their smiles and the post office I remember, but I won't miss the grief I've experienced over and over again. If you need mail handled correctly the first time, find another provider.

I wasn't having any luck, so once again I let Yelp figure it out. I posted a thread in Yelp talk and within minutes had a suggestion for Circle E candles which are locally made in Fredericksburg. I had never heard of these! Why? Do I live in a candleless bubble of worthless knowledge? Off to Google I went and Mail & More (M&M) popped up. Was glad to see they are family owned. I drove straight there as I needed to get the fried potato smell out of my house. I found M&M right beside of Gino's. I got out of the truck and started walking to the store. That's when the confusion sat in. I saw lots of vacuum cleaners sitting on the side walk in front of the store. Hmm. Mail, candles and vacuum cleaners? Whaat? I went in and was immediately greeted by a most pleasant lady. The store is junky and crowded (my kinda place). There are vacuum cleaners and parts and gifts strewn all about, but, up against one wall are shelves of Circle E candles. Thanks to Yelp and fellow Yelpers I found what I was after, plus something else. I found a store that has parts, and will do repairs, on my Dyson. How cool is that? I've been needing a new filter and just so happens they had one! These guys repair most vacuum's and sell parts like belts, filters and bags. They are the Authorized Service Center for Silver King and Thermax Home Cleaning Systems. Call them to see if they can satisfy your needs: (512) 238-9800. These guys also have a diverse variety of gifts that are unique to local shops like this. They will even package your gifts and ship them via Fed EX or USPS! This is like one stop shopping! P.S. I love my Circle E candle and the lady that works there is quit knowledgeable on the scents.
