I came bumbling in trying to renew my library card, being befuddled as to why my name wasn't even on record... Thankfully, the librarian helping me was gracious and kindly explained the issue after a solid 5 - 10 fruitless minutes of searching. At the end of the day, I walked out with a new library card specific to this lovely outpost, and a better appreciation for all these people do. There are TONS of free events hosted all year round here, particularly arts and crafts geared towards kids. It's perfect when you want them to make some cute holiday gifts or decor, or just get a break when it's too hot to play outside. Of course, there are no age limits and no one judging here, so I've availed myself of the acrylic paints on more than one occasion, too.

We are trying to hit every branch of the Austin Public Library, we use a app for a wheel to spin to…read morepick the next one. This makes the 4th one we have been to, Spicewood, Central, and Yarborough Branch have been previously visited. We want to see the differences and support the local library. This one had a larger outdoor area then most and even had a table and chairs outside to sit and read, not something we have seen anywhere but the central library. It also has some trails with art along it, as well as some interesting but creepy statues. A nice difference that makes it stand out. Inside they make full use of the space, they have a large kids area in the back and it seems very popular. Lots of Adult book clubs and activities as well as youth and children's events. It had one of the bigger collections of DVD's and Blu Rays for rent we have seen at any branch. It does have less computers for the public with only 6 or 7 but to be fair this is the first branch where they were not all full or close to full. In fact while we were there I think I saw one person using them. So it makes sense they focus on other things to match the area they are in. They have display caps with special displays like the picks of the people who work there, which is a nice touch. SHANA SAYS: I was impressed with the huge DVD and Blu Ray collection and I am not even a movie person, ask my husband as long as you have time to listen to him talk about it for awhile. The art outside was great, the fun artwork along the paths was unique and cool addition to this branch. They had some larger artwork in statues of some kind. I didn't get a great look due to looking at other things. This is extra nice all being outside for some fresh air and sunshine. They also have a large amount of adult and kids workshops and things to do! The bathroom was clean and they have a recycled reads area and a clearly marked hold area. They have board games you can rent and several other smaller touches that all add up. There was a cool display of cards that had a legal statement about how they don't wish to talk to you or give you consent in many many languages which was both awesome to see but sad we have gotten to that point. This location is not far, the closest one besides Spicewood Springs so we will be back to check it out more

This was terrific see. In the main library, end caps of the bookshelves occasionally have special displays of books. And on some empty spaces of shelves, you may find surprises like book recommendations or flyers/brochures. The library has many community events, including story time, adult programs, book clubs, and youth programs. There's something for everyone! I was here to pick up a book on hold; it was easy to find that area and locate my book.

I've never felt unsafe on campus, this is by far nicest looking campus; Other then Leander campus (which is to far). I'd highly recommend anyone starting college to come here I've had zero issues. I have had teachers that help me so much, I mean they go above and beyond to help you understand what they are teaching, they care. I dropped out of highschool 4 times and had to get my ged. This school has made the transition back to schooling completely easy and fun. As a normal student who has average grades and a average life this place is A1+ some. After being accepted to the Texas State nurse practitioner program, I received communications from the university and the graduate studies department. Email instructions which appeared to contradict each other, or mislead the receiver somewhat, and made the university seem disorganized. Wanting to be conscientious, I sent a respectful email to DOCTOR Smith, asking politely for clarification. Her response was ridiculously arrogant and made it very clear that she was irritated by the email I had sent her for clarification. There was no explanation or apology for the different messages that I received from the university vs the graduate nursing department, and she made a point of stressing that students must refer to her as DOCTOR Smith. I have no problem with that, of course, since I'm sure she worked hard for her doctorate. Her rudeness, arrogance and obviously impatient attitude was a dealbreaker for me, the last straw after the other aggravating issues with Texas State University. I immediately decided to attend a different school, because DOCTOR Smith's behavior made it seem like a very bad idea to deal with this school for an entire 15 months! I'm happily attending grad school elsewhere, even though it is more expensive and the program is longer.

This thriving city is just a stone's throw from Austin yet feels like a million miles away. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. Lots of history in this great little piece of Texas. Support local as much and as often as possible.

I was doing a road from Cypress, Tx to Round Rock, TX to just pick up so furniture from IKEA. The…read moredrive was so wonderful. When I arrived in Round Rock I noticed it was very clean. (Not that Cypress, Tx is not) The roads, landscaping along the freeways parking lots were well maintained. I stopped at the IKEA and the people all seemed nice. I will have to make another trip to Round Rock soon and explore.

Thing Two has been here for multiple girl scout events (including today). I have voted, worked out, played racquetball, sat with my thoughts in the community garden and so much more here. This is one of the best community centers I have ever seen. As I have lived in this community for many years, I have seen this community center evolve from the basic amenities to what now houses an adequate sized gym, a racquetball players dream, an indoor regulation sized basketball court, a place to meet friends and so much more. It's often times like this when I realize that I am so fortunate to live in a community that is able to fund such an amazing place where the community actually comes together to celebrate our common interests. #bewellcentraltx

But unfortunately they had a very small selection of magazines and nothing that would fit what I was looking for anyway. I was also looking for a Stephan king movie that I heard about. And unfortunately I was out of luck with that too. I was helped by a nice gentleman that worked at the sell counter. And he offered to order the movie for me from another store, I think he said San Antonio, but I said, it wasn't necessary. The store was very neat and organized. Prices were fair for gentle used books.

So for my most recent visit here, I don't know if we just happened to come at a particularly slow time, but they priced a big box of books we brought in super fast. So if you're selling and are low on time maybe try this Half Price Books location? They had a few carts outside which helped us bring the box in so that's a plus. It is a nice spot with plenty of selection. It's all well kept as well. There's plenty of parking and everything is nice. I managed to snag a birthday gift for my hubs here on a visit, I managed to find a hardback book he had been looking for in pretty solid condition.
