Had to go get some new license plates today. I did not have an appointment, but I was only there for a half hour. The clerks here are very friendly and expedient. The Secret is knowing what you need before you walk in the door and going at the beginning of the month. They have walk in and they have drive-through at this office. They have TVs to watch while one is waiting. This place is stress-free. read more

Great office. Great service. Great location. Did I say how great this was? Dreaded the visit. Was surprised at the short wait inside and plenty of seating mid-day. Clean bathrooms. Pleasant staff. So many past experiences in similar offices with people lined up, old tile flooring and harsh lighting. Nobody smelled bad. The ambience was more like a Doctors office. read more

I am 71 years old and went there for a handicapped plate as per my physician. The crowd and the wait were not too bad. The clerk, however, asked me twice for all my info and then sent ME to my car with his tools to remove the license plate and told me to get the registration sticker off and bring that, too. I am handicapped and this was a very hard. Perhaps I took too long, I don't know what he did come and get me, apologize and put the new plate on. read more

Went to get vehicle registration for my wife's car during my lunch hour at work. It only takes a few minutes when you use the drive thru. Well...it was all coned off forcing everyone to go inside. I went in only to find out they did not have enough staff to operate the drive thru! WTF? Are you kidding me? The place was packed and I only saw a couple of clerks working. I just left since the wait time was ridiculous...In my opinion....that is just plain mismanagement. Our tax dollars need to be used and utilized in a better way....Staff up people!!! read more

My son and I had a great experience. We arrived, got our number and waited about ten minutes before being called up to a window. Ten minutes later we were walking out and done. We had brought my sons car from California so we wanted to get it registered here in Texas. We got Texas plates and switched the title from CA back to TX as it was originally purchased, titled, and plated here in TX. You must have insurance and an inspection before you can register a vehicle. Also, you must have a registration before you can switch your drivers license, but that's a different agency. Our clerk was very friendly and it was a great experience. read more

How could one give a five star review to such a boring institution? Easily, when it is such a breeze that it doesn't seem like a chore to get your vehicle registration renewed. The online system was so easy to sign up for and reserve a time slot. I was sent a text allowing me to keep the time 30 minutes out, add more time, or cancel. Once I got inside, I printed the slip from the touchscreen kiosk and I was seen within 2 minutes. I barely had enough time to open my book and read a couple paragraphs. There's also a drivethru available, which tells you how speedy and efficient this office is. Don't wait inside! Get on the online waitlist that texts you. read more

Great Convenience, Friendly Staff, and Accommodating facilities. I have come here a few times for vehicle registrations, license plates, etc. I have called here as well and they actually have an adult conversation with you on the phone. I previously worked for the State of Texas and I can attest to the facts that some people working for the County or State governments do NOT have customer service skills, but here they DO. My questions were probably the most boring and repetitive ones that they get every minute, but with seamless effort Dave and some others answered them as if it was the first time it was asked to them. They gave me the correct information and this allowed me to bring the proper documents in for my needs. Additionally, the automated system accurately reflects the website information. AMAZING that someone is finally using technology as it should. If you look on the website and it shows a 12 minute wait, you can be accurate that it is very close to a 12 minute wait. There are a few people that work here, but I personally watch them (as they were helping me) process my information AND work the drive thru faster than a McDonalds or Chick-Fil-A at the same time. (All the time smiling) I dont review County/State offices that often, but this location deserves the kudos and give them a cordial "thank you" for their great effort. read more

Fairly efficient for such a small tax office location. They offer appointments and a drive thru if you are registering a single vehicle. This place also is special to me since it is where I got married to my beloved husband! We had an appointment, showed up 15 minutes early and we were married and out the door before our appointment time ever even hit. The people here are quite polite which is a big plus! read more

I recently got my car registration renewed and this place was amazing. It sounds weird to say that a tax office was great... but this place truly was! I went in when the office opened and hardly had to wait. The location was convenient to get to, and the parking was great. The staff was extremely friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The second time I was there I had the pleasure of working with Gretchen, who was kind, fast, and just overall a great person! I've had to come here to get a handicap placard for my car. The first time it took about 10 minutes, making sure I had all the right paperwork needed and getting everything set up on the computers. When I had to go in to get my placard renewed, it took about 3 minutes, in and out, easy as can be. The same goes for getting car registrations. Right in and right out. Just wish they did drivers license renawals. read more

*UPDATE* After contacting the Round Rock Tax Office with my complaint (detailed in previous review), I received emails from both the office manager, Laura Futujma, and Chief Deputy Tax Assessor/Collector, Matt Johnson. While, Futujma's apology read more like a forced excuse, Johnson was sincere and understanding: "Based on your concerns and reading the office manager's email to you, I spoke with her to gain more clarity on the situation. After discussion, we feel it would have been more appropriate to accept the payment in the form provided." He even plans to "follow up with the clerk who stopped the transaction and ensure he understands how he should have proceeded to take care of a customer." I've updated my review of this tax office from 1 star to 3 because Johnson's email and actions (although unexpected) are certainly appreciated! read more

Booked appointment online to register my out of state car. Arrived 10 minutes before, got called up right on time. I handed the lady my paperwork, paid, was outta there with my license plates and tags in less than 10 minutes. Yay! read more

I went in to get my new car titled and registered yesterday. Anthony helped me get my paperwork done, was courteous and had no issues...until i left and realized i had gotten a sticker that expires next month. I was very confused as to why i didnt get a whole year worth of registration. turned out to be a misunderstanding. Anthony called me to let me know there was a mistake made, let me jump to the front of the line and got it all straightened out. I dont expect perfection from everyone, however when a mistake is made, acknowledged and made right, its very appreciated.
