    Waiting room with tv
    Laura P.

Had to go get some new license plates today. I did not have an appointment, but I was only there for a half hour. The clerks here are very friendly and expedient. The Secret is knowing what you need before you walk in the door and going at the beginning of the month. They have walk in and they have drive-through at this office. They have TVs to watch while one is waiting. This place is stress-free.

Constantly closed on the only days I can come in to register my vehicle. This applies to the Taylor location as well.

Also, you must have a registration before you can switch your drivers license, but that's a different agency.

Jury Duty - overall a smooth experience, they just don't give you enough details/instructions…read more There's ample free parking, both ground lot and parking garage, just across the street. Get there at least 15min early, cuz you have to go through security and sign in. If you're on a jury panel but don't get picked, then jury duty just lasts a half day. There's a water fountain, but otherwise NO FREE food/drinks, not even coffee. (See pics, there's a coffee machine but you have to buy the inserts from the vending machine.) Each court has a different set of rules (I assume the judge decides.) Bring a jacket (it gets cold inside the courtroom). If you bring a bag, you can keep it with you at your feet during the trial. There's no lockers or refrigerator, so I duno how you'd bring lunch. For english as second language folks- this requires a lot of precise language comprehension.

0/10 - customer service sucks. They just stick you in a small room with a bunch of smelly people…read more Once they do that, a TV is rolled into another room because the judges are too cowardly to actually come in person, and they tell you that you're getting a few weeks in jail for expired tags. The cowardly judge on the TV doesn't listen or ask questions, they just sit all coward like on a TV because they're too afraid to come in person. Then they "decide" something, which again is cowardly, then you sit in jail even longer for no reason whatsoever. I'll give the piggies credit for letting us watch King of the Hill in that weird room with all the airplane seats.

This is the last place I expected to visit…read more No, Officer, the handcuffs are not too tight. Yes, the ride in the Police cruiser was fun with the lights and sirens going. Okay, seriously, am I the only person on the list of potential jurers? I have been called to jury duty seven times and served them all. This court has been the nicest of all the courts I have served on. Beautiful tiled entryway is in the waiting area. Stunning wood panel walls. The visitor's seats in court are the usual rock hard wood pews. So I guess I was glad I was picked so I could sit in the soft jury seats. The Procesutor, Judge and Bailiff were very pleasant to work with. Wow! They pay $10.00 per day instead of the usual 6 bucks. In conclusion, it is a nice place to visit but I wouldn't want to live there.

The courthouse was nice, the judge for the day was Judge Oswald and he was very pleasant, polite and calm. He explained very clearly what we had to do to take care of our tickets or contest it. There weren't too many of us that day and I was quickly approved Deferred Disposition, paid my court fees and was out the door within an hour. Very painless. I'm only taking one star off because as previously mentioned, they only have court on Thursdays, starting at 3pm. It can be a little inconvenient to work around that schedule. But overall, the experience was a lot better than expected.

Interesting reading some others opinions. I had a minor traffic violation. I thought I would be…read moreable to get a reduced fee or something by talking to someone in court... I met in pretrial, arbitration, with a prosecutor, I believe. It took 6 months to get a court date. Was surprised she (the prosecution) was only interested in attacking me personally, e.g. ("You're not very professional") & other snide remarks rather than talk about the actual merits of the situation. I find that adversarial, fiat-style government isn't really the best for conflict resolution.

Innerloop Annex Judge Bill Gravell, Jr…read more Justice of the Peace, Precinct 3 301. S.E. Inner Loop, Ste. 103 Georgetown, TX 78626 Telephone: (512) 943-1501 Jury Status: (512) 943-1966 This government entity apparently has nothing better to do than waste taxpayer time and money on little issues such as non-moving violations. Attempts were made to dismiss non-moving violation tickets yet was met with political agendas that no one will come to court legitimately to fight these types of tickets. In essence, if you receive a ticket non-moving violation or moving violation do attempt to get the issue reduced at pretrial. This judge has his own agenda and thus anyone who gets a ticket will lose even when you have evidence to the contrary. The attorney I had who had several good arguments to why I hadn't changed my license was met with refusal by this judge when trying to plea bargain for a dismissal or reduced fines. Even though the prosecuting attorney wanted to dismiss and move on with other trials this judge was trying to waste the time of the attorneys and the jury to perform such menial issues that could have been dealt with in a more expeditous manner. Even though the client complied with the statues of getting a license and registration even though the client had evidence to prove that residency was not established in the State of Texas but another state, this client had to go to trial and then pay court fees on top of the tickets including paying for a new license and registration in the state of Texas even though Texas is not the client's state of residency and owns property in another state. My recommendation to all of you is to one not get a ticket in Williamson County but if you do make certain you fight it at pretrial and not trial or you will pay more than you bargained for. Other courts in Travis County would comply with dismissing the tickets but apparetnly Williamson County has way too much time on their hands. What truly stinks is unlike the current issues of people like the Felix Hernandez who flees the scene after defacing private property and then is tasered by police and loses his life in the end. These people say they want justice for his life ending shortly due to police. In the end the police had to do the least amount of force to apprehend this fleeing felon and then the Heranndez familiy has the audacity to ask for justice. He flees the scene instead of politely talking to the police about his illegal activity and dies from his own stupidity and thus then they want justice and thus will probably get some illogical award for failing to comply with the police and for breaking the law. I on the other-hand comply and then use the court system to explain the reasons of why I did not break the law and then have to pay tickets and court fees for doing as the court and the law asked of me. In the end those who comply get screwed and people like Felix Hernandez's family will wind up getting some outlandish monetary award. Where is the justice?
