Didn't have groceries for dinner so decided to take a chance on a restaurant in Brule...needless to say we were SO happy we did. It had great reviews to begin with but we have nothing bad to say about this family-run restaurant. Theresa was our waitress and was so friendly and made sure to check in with us periodically...She was beyond kind and sweet. THE FOOD: Loved it! Big portions of incredible family favorite dishes. The homemade bread rolls and marinara sauce were delicious. The food was brought out quickly and hot out of the oven! THE BEER: Lots of bottled and tap options with frosted mugs, YES PLEASE!! I was originally planning to give this place a 4, mainly because I was not all that impressed with their pizza, which seemed to be what everyone raves about. However, I've been there a couple times since my aborted review, and they've earned the extra star. The pizza is good, just a little heavy on the cheese for my tastes. One of the sizes comes out in an odd oval shape that fits the platter on which it is served. Odd but cool. More recently, a group of us stopped in for fish fry and whatever else was on the menu. Our waitress actually ran to get a cinnamon shaker from the kitchen to please one of the more finicky eaters in our group. The service has always been excellent. I had the fish fry and salad that night, and both were very good. If you are looking for some Italian dishes, pizza, or fish, you can't go wrong here. read more

Had one of the most enjoyable meals I've had in years here over the at the Round Up on Saturday . Went there with my bro's; The older brother has had their pizza before, and was raving about it, plus the reviews were all very high, so I expected the food to be good, but had no idea just how spectacular the food was going to be. We arrived a little before 8pm, and it was pretty quiet, with just a few tables occupied (they close around 9pm I believe). We were greeted by who I assume to be the owner, and he took our drinks, and then after we looked at the menu for a few minutes, our food orders were taken (there was a lot of really good options, so there was waffling). I was trying to decide between "the North Philly Beef", and the sliced Italian Beef sandwich, and he explained the advantages of both, and I ended up ordering the hot beef (what a choice!) While we sat and soaked in the ambiance (Brewers game was on, but there's also some cool local history adorning the walls too,) some fresh baked, homemade bread came out, and like everything else that would come later, it was perfect. After he took our orders, he said he'd be taking off for the night, but his son would help us out the rest of the way, and he was equally nice. That's a great aspect of eating here too; knowing you're playing a small part to support a local family business, who are super nice people, and obviously really care, and take pride in the food they're making for you. It's super cool that with the sandwiches you get three options for your topping; baked mozzarella (which I got,) or Giardiniera, or roasted sweet peppers (or the works for no extra charge). All the sandwiches are baked on homemade bread (which is excellent). When the sandwich arrived, my eyes were bigger than the plate it was on, it looked so good. I always eat the fries first with a meal while they're fresh, but it was hard to do this time with the sandwich beckoning me the whole time. When I got to the sandwich, and took the first bite..it was just AMAZING! Especially when dipped just a bit into the homemade au jus sauce..which was also the best I've ever had! Each bite I couldn't help but brag about how good it was. It's the best sandwich of any kind I've ever had in my life. The sliced beef was about 1/8th thick, and mozzarella blended perfect. Each bite had the perfect amount of cloudy, perfectly baked bread too. You also get fresh cut fries with the sandwich, and coleslaw. There's nothing like fresh cut fries, and these were as good as any I've ever had-they were cooked perfectly like everything else we ate. The coleslaw, which I'm picky about, and find is usually too sweet at most every place was among the best I've had. Just when we were about to leave, having about the best meal ever, three dessert servings of shaved ice came out (flavored with mango, pineapple, and two other fruit flavors I forget). Surprise, surprise, that was amazing too. One of the best frozen concoctions ever eaten as well. I'm pretty much thinking of moving up to that area, just so I can eat here at least once a week. We stopped in after a long day of snowmobile riding. Ordered the veal parmesan. Portion size was huge. Service was great and friendly. Would definitely recommend stopping by for an Italian meal. All homemade delicious. Friday night fish fry is what we're going to check out next. read more

This place might not look like much, but boy oh boy is the food good! I cannot wait until the next time I find myself near Brule so I can come back for more! Everyone in our party left full and happy! We stopped in for a late lunch after fishing the Brule River all morning. I had the Philly Steak sandwich, and all i can say is WOW! It came on a homemade hoagie roll and was stuffed with a generous portion of meat, green peppers, onions, mushrooms, and cheese. It was accompanied by a very small side of hand cut fries and homemade coleslaw. The food took a bit of time to come out but it was definitely worth the wait! Service was friendly, and our meal came with homemade warm dinner rolls before hand and homemade sherbert cups after, and both were really good! I will definitely find my way back here! read more

I was in the area for work and my brother was working nearby so we met here for dinner. The atmosphere is a typical up north bar and grill, the owner or as he said the tax write off his wife is the owner, was pretty funny. We stopped on a Tuesday and a few of the things we tried to order they were out of because of the weekend and not Getting their stock in yet. The soup of the day was awesome, that apparently comes with the pasta when you order it. We didn't know that and all of a sudden we had soup and bread and then got our food! The pasta portions were huge. I had the manicotti and it was good but lacked some flavor. Once I salted and peppered it it was much better. Otherwise it was pretty good for a small town. read more

This is a great place. The ravioli are delicious, all hand-made, and the sauces are fantastic! I come from an Italian family, and this is one of those VERY RARE places that prepare pasta sauce that tastes like my grandma or her sisters might have made. They usually bring a little hand-made sorbet for dessert to cleanse your pallet. I've also had the Friday fish fry - it's apparently the one day they don't offer pasta. It was good, too! Another time I tried the Italian beef. It was good, but I'd ask them not to put all that cheese on it next time. The gardinare, which they make on site, was superb. So good I could not stop thinking about it good. Their ravioli is out of this world delicious. I don't even like ravioli - staff recommended it. First time I had and Italian sausage with Alfredo sauce. A week later, after I could not stop thinking about the pasta I returned and had the chicken. Flavorful distinct chicken and herbs in a ravioli pasta cooked a firm al dente. Service is awesome, and food is very tasty. read more

This place was INCREDIBLE! The chicken vegetable soup was very, very good & that's coming from a nonsoup lover. The homemade rolls are some of the best I have ever had! Be sure to buy a dozen to go. I stopped in on a Saturday night with friends and the establishment was very busy. I had read the reviews and really wanted to like this place. In the end I was not impressed. The food sounds creative and unique but it is really just pasta and red sauce. The ravioli I had was simple with no depth of flavor. What really shocked me is that they charge $14. I applaud them for trying but in the end it is a Wisconsin bar that serves food. read more

This was the most amazing Italian food I have had since I left Milwaukee 30 years ago. The sauces were fresh and authentic. The Alfredo sauce had great garlicky buttery flavor. We tried all three ravioli. ALL were terrific! The added touches of fresh buns, soup, chocolate ice and biscotti shows that this restaurant is totally high class and treats patrons exceptionally well. A gem in the middle of rural America. My husband had the ravioli special. My kid's and I had the pizza. We split the homemade soup before the pizza. It all was yummy. We are not food snobs but certainly eat out enough to know good authentic food vs food from a Sysco truck food. We will be back! This is good food! read more

They offered to make us another pizza but we doubted the second one would be any better so we thanked them & left & bought a dozen of their delicious rolls & went home & made sandwiches with the rolls.
