Stuffed Strawberry Waffle with Sausage ($18.95) with a glass of fresh Tetzners Milk ($3.95)
Molly M.

Locally sourced, fresh breakfast here! The breakfast sausage patty was so good, we had to visit Jim's Meats to get some for home! The local/fresh Tetzners milk was delicious! Good service! Bloody Mary's looked great (we couldn't imbibe that morning). It was a little pricy for northern Wisconsin but worth it. Loved the log cabin feel!

Rustic Roost has reopened as The Rustic Roost. Great place for breakfast. Kaylee was my server was great and recommended the Apple French Toast. It was good and came with choice of meat and chose slice of Ham. Coffee came out quick and as was finishing cup a carafe was brought to table which was nice. Lots of parking right off highway. Inside has a cabin decor with tables on one side and a bar with High Top on the other side.

Prices are high.... Food selection is skimpy. Staff are unsure of themselves. Has gone downhill the past few years.

While the patio is dog-friendly, you have to go inside to the bar to order your drinks and food and dogs aren't allowed in there. So, if you're traveling solo with your dog, be aware of this. I just left the car locked and running while I went in to order, put my placard down on a table outside, then went and grabbed the pup from the car. The Caesar Salad with chicken was lovely and had nice, crisp greens - not just the light colored watery lettuce, this had the medium and dark green goodness too. Still a little bland tasting, but it is a nice size and I ate the whole thing. The chicken on top of it was warm and freshly cooked, and absolutely delicious. I shared a piece of chicken and some lettuce with my pup and he likewise approved. It was a warm sunny day, so I ordered a Kentucky Mule to go along with my salad. Staff was a little busy with tables inside (lots of children at one table) so they forgot about my drink sitting on the bar. It came out just after my salad, so I just decided to make it my dessert instead of my appetizer :) Friendly staff and good food. If you're out this way, why not stop in and enjoy for yourself?

Staff were professional and you could tell were old hands and knew what was what. I ordered the hot mess (their version of poutine but without cheese curds and with shredded roast beef) which was amazing, SO good. I had a special - sliders on pretzel buns, and while the beans and coleslaw were delicious, the sliders were just okay. Others in the group loved the pot pie, and my kiddo devoured the burger. The quality of the food and the service place the Cranberry Over Superior above other seemingly similar options in the area. Highly recommend.

My most recent visit was during their Holiday Club pop-up event with holiday-themed drinks. My group tried the salted sour, cookie butter old fashioned, and Mama Nancy's Xmas punch. All the drinks were fantastic, but my favorite was the cookie butter old fashioned. It was perfectly made and not too sweet. They've got the space nicely decorated for Christmas. It's wonderfully cozy! The staff are friendly, too. Only one person was working when we were there, and she did a great job balancing all of the customers. Be sure to check the hours on their website/social media before you go. They seem to be a little varied.

To elaborate I was sober and in my right mind, just trying to get a feel for the numerous bars in Superior WI. I walked in it was 11:03 and they said they closed at 10 and the coworkers were in the bar having a drink. I lingered for a moment to see what beers they have on tap, in case I wanted to come back. Don't worry about It, I won't be! I said I liked the Celebration Ale by Sierra Nevada, then one of the gentleman ubruptly stood up and said "that reminds me I will show you out and lock the door behind you." The only explanation is, they must of thought I was a drunk because that's how I was treated. I perceived his FU tone of voice, and felt completely degraded to be ushered out the door. I wish I could of given them the zero star rating. The way I was handled gives me the feeling that this establishment has a superioriry complex. Your are mistaken the Lake is Superior, but your attitude was perceived as appallingly rude by this potential customer!

The owners and staff were all very friendly and quick to answer any questions about the menu. In addition to the food menu, there was also an extensive drink menu, both alcoholic and NA. We started with some cheese curds and pretzel bites. The pretzel bites were actually my favorite thing that I had the whole evening. They were pillowy soft and the smoked gouda beer cheese paired nicely. As a person who normally prefers mustard, I was impressed that I liked the cheese so much. For my main meal I got the fried chicken and waffles which comes with fries. I was surprised to see that when it came out, it was two waffles and two pieces of chicken. As I said before, pretty good portion size. The chicken was quite tasty with the hot honey, but the waffle was a little too sweet for me. With the waffle already being sugar pearl, once the honey saturated it was just a little too much for me. The fries were done nice with a crisp outside and soft inside. Some friends ordered the smash burger and it was also well received and a large portion size. Overall, great service and pretty good food. I hope to come back next time I'm in town.

We started with the cheese curds which were delicious especially with the homemade ranch. We ordered the tomato soup and grilled cheese special and gnocchi as our entrees. The gnocchi was awesome, super flavorful and the sausage added paired nicely. The tomato soup was also great on a chilly night. There was a little mix up with our food and the staff was so friendly and apologetic about it. We enjoyed our time here and were really happy with how fresh and flavorful the food was!
