We visited Frankie's on a Wednesday evening at about 6:30. The restaurant was about 90% full when we walked in - there were only 3 booths available. We ordered a large Supreme pizza without the olives. The pizza came out quickly and was molten hot. It was FANTASTIC! Generous toppings, the perfect amount of sauce, and crispy flavorful crust. I anticipated having some to take home for lunch, but we ended up finishing the entire thing. It was THAT good. We rate it a solid 9.5/10 and would definitely return. Not only that, but for 2 sodas (unlimited refills) and the pizza, our bill was under $23. They even sent us home with refills to go. There was only one waitress working. Called in ahead of time to place an order for pizzas and to have them ready and picked up later that evening. Pizzas were made hours ahead of time leaving a stale and chewy experience with all four pizzas looking like double crusts which concluded my order not made fresh and a bit alarming, considering that's a huge food violation but luckily my dogs have stomachs of steel. For a place that has 4 generations of family and been in business for 50+ years it sure is ran pretty loosey-goosey. It wouldn't be a surprise if this establishment continues to get sued for misconduct in the workplace in addition to formal investigations by the State and Health department for violating protocols. A business that switches ownership and changes establishment names to avoid rears with the government while using personal accounts on business should say enough. The public has a right to be informed, and parents need to be vigilant and made aware of Billy Beesley who lurks around the establishment. He has a tendency to unnecessary and excessively touch children, constantly testing children's boundaries, while positioning himself as a principle. If the owner and Jesse Welty had half a brain and valued intellect over materialistic possessions while being part of the problem, they too good see the successful grooming this pedophile has done to their own kids, grandkids and other children in the community. read more

We have always been very pleased with Frankie's in the past, but our recent visit on July 9th was not good! First of all the server was very inattentive and we requested fries as an appetizer and they barely came out before the pizza which took an overly long time and needless to say our pizza was not up to the normal standard of what we were used to. It was not the thick crust it was before, they used a cheap sausage(like tombstone) and the sauce was all watery and the grease was incredible!!! We usually would order a pizza to take for home and we could not even eat what we had it was so bad. So unfortunately we will have to find a new spot to go next time!!!! Ordered the works pizza and a small pepperoni pizza which took about 35 min until ready. Prices are very reasonable. $14 for a large is really a decent price in my book. Pizza itself was okay. I like that they cut it into squares, but it was really little squares which is a nice change from the traditional triangle slices. The mushrooms were canned which I'm not a huge fan of. The pepperoni is underneath which is good to know since they slap one lone pepperoni slice on the pizza. It was okay pizza. read more

Recently I was in Ashland for work training and I stopped in Frankie's Pizza to grab dinner. My original plan was to eat there, so I walked into the dining room. As soon as I walked in, I was a little uncomfortable. I felt like that guy that walks into the bar and all the locals stop what they are doing and stare. As I was waiting to be seated, a waitress came out from the kitchen area and served a table. I am 99.999 % sure she saw me but didn't say anything to me. Instead of acknowledging me, she sat and chit chatted with the locals, then went in back. I was also not acknowledged by the second waitress either. Thinking there may be more to the process of getting a table or ordering, I went back outside and walked around the building to the other door. When I entered, it was a small area which appeared to be where you could order your food to go. The waitress (2nd one) greeted me and said "Oh, I was just about to come out and help you." I told her not to worry and that I would just order to go. Onto the pizza, it was really good. I got the CDI pizza which consisted of Double Crust - Double Cheese - Double Sauce - Canadian Bacon - Sausage - Pepperoni - Mushrooms - Onions. Plenty of toppings and cheese for sure. Frankie's is fine. The first couple of times we went, I was underwhelmed. It was pizza, so it was fine, but it was certainly nothing special. We did eventually try the stuffed crust pizza, and I would say that is pretty good. It was the only pizza that kept me coming back every so often. So, if you are getting Frankie's, I suggest getting that for the best possible experience while there. However, there are better places to get pizza in town (The Alley, Pizza Pub. Hugo's is pretty similar but a touch better IMO) I'd give them a 3 star review for the stuffed crust pizza alone if not for my last visit. In the midst of our area seeing a sudden uptick in Covid cases and a number of restaurants in town having to quarantine staff that were exposed to possible infection, we ordered takeout from Frankie's. Given the current state of things, I fully expected to see staff in masks, or at least the person working the counter for takeout. There wasn't a single staff person in a mask (you can see into the kitchen from takeout). That included a waitress that was taking drinks out to people in the dining room. I found this wildly irresponsible and pretty much sealed the deal for if we would be back to Frankie's any time soon (ever?). There seemed to be no effort being made to protect the customers or the staff. As an added bonus, I got to listen to the cashier trying to take an order over the phone, get told a time it would be ready by the kitchen, tell the customer that time, take the order, then change the time it would be ready completely out of thin air (adding 40 minutes of wait) and then defended her mistake without checking to see if she screwed up. The order wound up being cancelled... So that didn't really help with my opinion any... read more

When we arrived the place was about half full on a Thursday night. We were in town just for the night (passing through). Decided to try Frankies as reviews were consistently good. Great choice. We were waited on quickly. Pizza came timely (about 25 minutes--didn't time it). Excellent amount of topping and perfectly crispy crust. A must visit in Ashland. They recently setup credit cards which fixed the only issue with this previously cash-only restaurant. I always make it a priority to stop at Frankie's and get the Sausage Mushroom or Taco style pizza. I don't mind this little pizza place. They have some pretty decent pizzas. They can be a little on the greasy side at times, so that is why I only gave them three stars. And for the fact that there are other pizza places in Ashland that I prefer to Frankie's. I do enjoy their taco pizza.. it is very different from the other pizza place's taco pizza. It just tastes funkier (in a good way). Overall, they are pretty decent. Excellent for big groups.. I don't know how many of the my friends have come here for bday parties over the many years.
