Just got our upcoming home inspected today! Karen was great during the over-the-phone booking…read moresession and Tim Vreeland was a great inspector! He seemed to know his job really well and was extremely informative when taking notice of something good, bad, or "just as is for what it is." He invited me to follow him the whole length of the way. I was expecting a lot of silence, or a "don't distract me" attitude but he kept on chatting away telling me what he was looking for, what he found, or what was still inconclusive. We were pretty sure the house never had oil heat, and we were planning to pass on the tank sweep. But he suggested we get one anyway just based on the furnace switch plate having the words "Oil Burner" on it. He said, "The person who installed the furnace may just have used the wrong switch plate, but at the same time they may have recycled the switch plate when converting to gas." He kept on suggesting to do a tank sweep based on that alone. He seemed so trustworthy with everything else that, I felt compelled to listen to him on that. Low and behold, towards the end of the basement inspection, he came across two more clues that the house had oil-based heat at one time. Though still inconclusive if it the tank is still buried I was impressed how he found that evidence. Tank sweep scheduled for this week. Pillar to Post held true to its name today!

We received this extremely aggressive and threatening email from the owner, Teddy S.:…read more "Your a scam for trying to get service for free. People like you should be prosecuted to the fullest extent for trying to ruin a reputation of a company that did nothing out of line. You want to make bad reviews and contact the bbb?? My attorney will be sending you a letter. Your a f**king liar and you know it. Did we offer you $100 for a review?? Where did you even come up with that bulls**t?? We offered you the garentee which would cover you for holes in your tank or soil contamination under your tank, both things we can't detect during a soil sample thats why we offer the garentee. You chose not to get it so now your gonna try and blame my guys for contaminating your property??? That's bulls**t and you know it. When your oil tank has holes and oil in it the oil will leak out and cover the outside of the tank. That is why your tank is dark black and stained. Can you explain why the outside of the tank is covered in oil?? Let me guess, my guys put it there somehow?? Hahahahah. Your a joke. When my guys dragged the tank some of the staining rubbed off on the grass. Staining on the grass does not trigger a dep case number. Staining on the grass is not required to be remediated. That is not my guys causing your issue with the township. The town failed your inspection due to holes in the tank. We did not put holes in your tank. Keep talking s**t and spreading rumors about my business and see what happens Ben. The investing community is very small. You can't hide for long. You want to talk s**t about my business come say it to my face. You know my address. Call my cell anytime. XXX-XXX-XXXX. Teddy" It is very disturbing to me and my family that he sent me this kind of threatening email while pretending to be professional and nice on Yelp. Here is my response: Prior to filing a complaint, I did confront you with the evidence to which I received an uncooperative response with more lies. Moreover, the language and content of your email is offensive and highly unprofessional. Your presented threats carry legal consequences so I would advise to act professionally and discuss the details of this case only. 1. John did take 6 soil samples and sent 3 to the lab for analysis. On the contract, it states that your company will backfill the excavation to surface grade with certified clean fill. However, you did not fill everything up and left a huge mess around the whole area. 2. As I paid in full and was expecting professional service it was never in my intention to escalate this case further. As it was very severe in nature and clearly indicates intentional professional negligence, you were still given the option to resolve the damage inflicted by your company. As I didn't receive a response to my final email, and my previous communication attempts resulted in you dismissing all claims, I was forced to proceed via official channels. 3. As I stated earlier all the details as presented on my behalf are true. Your employee 'John' who did the soil test offered the '$100 American Express Card' which would be mailed in return for a Google review. 4. As you mentioned I have no claims for the holes in the side of the tank. I never implied that your guys drilled them. When they were removing the tank the tilted it toward these holes and drippled a substantial amount of oil on the soil (not grass). Then instead of disposing it, they mixed buried it along with the rest of the soil and gravel. Everything was done intentionally and a behavior of such kind indicates fraudulent professional misconduct. 5. Yet again, you were given the option to resolve this case in person. All the details of the case were presented by me truthfully. Clearly, I have no intention to visit you in your office, so if you are implying here to yet another threat, I would refrain. As this case is now handled via mediators, cell phone communication is not applicable. Please do respond in a written format.

I understand 30 minutes maybe even 45 but an hour and a half for a property we were trying to purchase is frustrating. We had to wait in our car and ask the home owner to clear his driveway.
