They did not inspect the attic because of current tenants stuff was in the way. Instead of calling me to resolve the issue they just left without contacting me. When I asked them to go back out to inspect the attic he told me I would have to pay an additional $150 on top of the already paid $305 for the full inspection that was not completed. I asked him why I was not contacted and he didn't answer me and said my tenants had stuff in the way. I told him I did not own the house and that I was the buying doing my due diligence. He said that doesn't change anything and told me "it is what it is". I explained to him that's why I told his wife to call me in case there was any issues and still he just kept cutting off and was rude. I understand how inspection are performed and if they simply had just called me my agent would have been right over and would have addressed the issue. I even asked if they asked the tenants to move the stuff and he didn't answer me again. He just kept saying it would cost me extra to come back over.

Tucker did a thorough assessment of the situation and he suggested that they set up equipments to dry the ceiling. Because of their expertise, and, luckily for us, it was within the right time frame, they were able to dry up the ceiling and walls without doing any unnecessary work. This was the second time we used RDC. First time was in 2019 when we got a washer from Costco. While installing the washer, the Costco staff caused a leak from our laundry room to the basement and we needed mold remediation then. Russell and Tucker came to the rescue then and repaired the issue promptly and efficiently. Both times they were very professional, reassuring, and honest! He seemed to know his job really well and was extremely informative when taking notice of something good, bad, or "just as is for what it is." He invited me to follow him the whole length of the way. I was expecting a lot of silence, or a "don't distract me" attitude but he kept on chatting away telling me what he was looking for, what he found, or what was still inconclusive. We were pretty sure the house never had oil heat, and we were planning to pass on the tank sweep. But he suggested we get one anyway just based on the furnace switch plate having the words "Oil Burner" on it. He said, "The person who installed the furnace may just have used the wrong switch plate, but at the same time they may have recycled the switch plate when converting to gas." He kept on suggesting to do a tank sweep based on that alone. He seemed so trustworthy with everything else that, I felt compelled to listen to him on that. Low and behold, towards the end of the basement inspection, he came across two more clues that the house had oil-based heat at one time. Though still inconclusive if it the tank is still buried I was impressed how he found that evidence. Tank sweep scheduled for this week. Pillar to Post held true to its name today!
