Otherwise communication with the main Cecil Green rep Lindsay was easy and efficient over email. She is very understanding and accommodating with my questions and requests. I was staying on campus for a few days and decided to visit the botanical garden for a nice walk. I…read morewas pleasantly surprised with the amount of flowering plants as the weather was still quite cold. The trail map was easy to follow and there were multiple areas to explore. I was fascinated by the medicinal herb area as each plant described the ailments it could treat. There was also a large area for growing produce that is being used to feed needy people in Vancouver. A portion of the trail is paved and there are also trails that are mostly mulch. It takes about 2 hours to cover the whole garden if you go at a leisurely pace. There are restrooms throughout the garden and the staff is very friendly. The parking lot is spacious and the parking rates are inexpensive. I believe it was $1.50 CA per hour. The google maps did route me to the back of the garden (no parking or entrance) so you may have to loop around to get to the front entrance. There is an information booth right in the front and the staff will give you a quick explanation of the layout of the place.

The course is currently under construction with a handful of holes being reduced to par 3s, which is a bummer because they are still charging full price. We had a pretty early round, got there an hour early, and were told to check-in closer to our time to get a cart. They charged the card I booked with so no transaction was needed. The course itself was a good mix of tight tee shots and some where you had some flexibility if you missed left or right. The greens were rolling pretty nice and true. The finishing holes were pretty tough, but being in the tree lined fairways makes this a really pretty place to play. Overall, it's a course I'd definitely play again but not until they open up the full course.

It is noisy, and this has to be probably the least accessible hostel I've ever stayed at. I understand this is a historic building and modifications can't be made to the building, but this is just me sharing for other disabled travelers. Moreover the night that I stayed unfortunately had a large high school group who were extremely noisy . If I could do it all over, I would've stayed somewhere further out and paid a lot less. There were Airbnb in the $40-$60 range that were 30-90 minute drive from Vancouver ....closer to Vancouver some listings were in the $80 range, which is what I would have recommended instead of staying here . You're almost paying the same price just to stay here however you have a lot less privacy amongst other unpleasant attributes about this property and hostels in general. . Lastly, this is probably the third or fourth HI property that I've stayed at and my least favorite. To compare the very first one I stayed that was in my hometown in Santa Monica, which is actually cheaper than this place however, the facilities are infinitely better . Make it make sense.

And we get some very cute pics because it's gorgeous! A local Mom started this and I think that's incredible, we love to support local businesses. I love their drinks and treats but occasionally if I want something specific like an iced flavoured coffee, I just pick it up next door first and bring over :)

We decided not to stay for this reason but we had to pay the $12 drop in fee for just 10-15 minutes play. It's not a cafe - it's a small softplay.

Shows at the Jericho Arts Center can be a little hit-or-miss and definitely less polished than at…read moreother theaters around town. The ticket price, though, is about half that you'd pay at the Arts Club. The company is mostly volunteer-run and often selects more off-beat productions. The intermission concession is my favorite in town: grab a pack of Rolos and a coffee for $2. (When eaten together it's kind of like a caramel chocolate latté. Okay, I'm stretching.) The chairs here could use a refurbishing, which is where the hit-or-miss comes into play. A 90-minute show in an uncomfortable chair is okay, but edge over that 2-hour mark and nothing can save that show for me. The world needs far more people with the ability to eliminate the unnecessary. I guess I'd best stop there.
