    chicken tacos from Taquisa Waco
    Maddi B.

Route 77 is a fun place to go if you're looking to eat or drink outdoors, eat a variety of stuff, or play cornhole. It's like a scaled down version of Union Hall in downtown. When I went, there were four food trucks-- Taquisa Waco (tacos), Oakley's Ruistic (comfort food), Heart of Texas Dog House (hotdogs), and Shuckin' Shack (oyster bar), and there is a bar. The bar only serves beer and seltzers/canned beverages; there's no mixed drinks or shots. If you want water, you have to go to the restrooms and fill up a cup, or buy it bottled. Their happy hour goes from 11am-7pm. I liked Taquisa Waco! I am biased because I've been eating at the taco trucks on La Salle that existed long before this one. These tacos were good, but smaller and slightly more expensive than the ones at other taco trucks in the area. My friend tried their quesadilla and said it was better than others on La Salle, though! Definitely try this place when you come. Last night, we tried Oakley's Rustic, and I had Blackened Chicken Mac n Cheese. It was very expensive for mac n cheese at $12.99. The portions kind of justified that as it was just a giant to-go box filled with macaroni, but I'm not sure that I would pay for it again. It tasted super yummy, but if you're going to get this, I'd definitely recommend splitting it with a friend. I couldn't finish it even though I was hungry, and trying to finish it will just make your stomach hurt. I'd like to try the chicken tenders at this place, but everything here is generally pretty expensive. I have not tried the other two food trucks and am not quite sure that I will; they just aren't really my thing. My general take on this place is that it's a little more expensive than it needs to be/compared to other Waco restaurants, but it's worth going just to check it out and make your own judgements. If you are seeking somewhere covid friendly, this is not your place. While it is outdoor dining, nobody eating or preparing food is wearing masks or taking any precautions.

    Some of the best tacos!

Stopped by to get a bite to eat after breaking down nearby and despite our unfortunate circumstances this place was a highlight. There are about 5 food trucks surrounding the bar and seating area. From Taquisa Waco we ordered tacos which were so delicious. We got 2 birria tacos with consume, 1 chicken taco and 2 Sprites ($11). My daughter also got a happy hour cup of moscato ($3.50) and later for dessert we got a chocolate cookie topped with chocolate ice cream, strawberries and chocolate syrup ($5). Unfortunately we didn't get a pic of the dessert.... we started eating right away but trust me it was good. This is definitely somewhere to visit. There's a great variety of food options at pretty resonable prices and a nice place to hang out.

Amazing tacos! The food truck area is very well lit and you can enjoy an alcoholic beverage as well.

Of course there were some beers that we ordered but did not like. However we found a couple that we throughly enjoyed. We even took a couple cans home! The food was amazing! The pretzel was a little inconsistent, crunchy in some areas and super soft in others, but it hit the spot either way. Their garlic fries were definitely garlicky, don't order if you don't like a lot of garlic. The food did not come out together, but we were ok with that. The mushroom burger, grilled cheese, and fish and chips were all delicious! The grilled cheese was even loved by our picky son! The fish was crispy on the outside and so flaky and tender on the inside. The burger may have been frozen, but the mushrooms and Gouda totally made up for that! Good beers, great food, friendly and attentive staff! If we find ourselves in Waco again, we will definitely be stopping by.

Honestly, the only thing I was disappointed by (and the only reason I gave it 3 stars) is the use of ai slop on the menu. Ya'll -- in this day and age, ai slop pictures are only going to hurt you. Go back to whatever menu you had before you made this one, because it sucks.

It was a little busy due to the holiday but we enjoyed the old world like atmosphere bar tavern set up they have. We got a bottle of champagne to have mimosas with our meals. I got the delicious schnitzel Benedict. Loved it but next time I'll ask for the sauce on the side. I would have liked the traditional hollandaise. But it was a good twist. The potatoes were yummy. My husband had the schnitzel waffles. he ate the whole plate. So it's a winner. He said we can come back. So I again look forward to exploring more of the menu and having some beers. I mean pivo. Cheers.

What a great brewery & restaurant. Who knew you could experience authentic Czech cuisine and craft…read morebeers just an hour or so away from Austin? The connected hotel is wonderful (there is a separate Yelp listing to review it). How amazing is it to stay at an operating brewery? The old-world European charm and flavor can be felt throughout. An elevated brewery pub, if you will. The decor definitely lends to that vibe. The food is really good and I dare to compare it to food we've had in Germany. I also love that they do a playful fusions of sorts with Texas & Czech foods. For example, the Czexan Potted Beer Cheese has a combo of sausages, peppers, meats, breads, and a cheese spread made with Czech beer. Perfect appetizer for two people and then some. My boyfriend loves the Texan Pocket Schnitzel. It's fried pork filled with jalapeños, ham, and cheese, served with mashed potatoes. I like the classic, authentic version of this. They do a fine job! I also love the Bavarian pretzel. It comes with a couple of different dipping sauces. Incredible beer pours that pair nicely with any of the meal options. We shared a flight that consisted of four different lagers. They also offer whiskey flights, brandy flights, wine flights, and cocktails. We didn't have dessert but I'm interested in the crème brûlée cheesecake next time 'round. Between staying at the hotel and eating at the restaurant, it was truly an experience that made me feel like we were back in Europe. Gotta hit up the beer spa next time too!
