I decided to read reviews on Yelp and found Lotuspaw. Not a lot of reviews but what I saw seemed like it was a good place. After speaking with Kat I decided to bring my dog to have him groomed. I mentioned on the phone he was large dog aggressive because of a near attack by pit bull last summer. It is something we are working on with him but it is an issue. I was told to bring his vet records and I had him in the vet before we moved in NY and he was given every shot he needed to be licensed in both NY and NC. When I pulled in I was surprised it was kennel. Several large dogs were grouped together behind a chain link fenced - no grass just black top. I went into a side door and was greeted by an overwhelming stench of dog urine. It was filthy dirty! A pleasant young man came out to greet me and told me I could sit down and wait for the groomers to come in (I was 10 minutes early for my appointment). I told him I would be more comfortable waiting with my dog in my car. I really should have left and never came back after that moment - and seeing how dirty it was - but I didn't. I went to car and waited. A man named came to my window and said he was the owner/groomer and they were ready to meet with us. I got out of the car with the dog and Chris introduced himself began to be critical of how I was handling my dog. My dog was leading me - I fully admit it. He was pulling on the leash - bad habit I know. But to have someone I am ready to hand my dog over to criticize me put me immediately on the defense. When we walked in he led us back to a grooming room which was horribly dirty. I was trying to explain to him my dog was aggressive towards large dogs and he began to tell me how it was my fault he was that way. I am sure he was right - but again - by putting me on the defense Chris wasn't in your best interest. Chris began playing with my dog and then told me he looked healthy. Well of course he is healthy! I am a responsible pet owner - just because my dog pulled the leash because it was raining out doesn't mean my dog isn't take care of. He then asked me for our vet files to check for rabies, etc. He looked through the paper and asked if Buddy had a 'dog flu' shot - I had never heard of that and being a kennel he would need that - jackpot my excuse to get the heck out of there. I was never told this before I came in and quite frankly I was fine with it. I had decided I wasn't going to leave him there. I didn't trust this man and his business was dirty. My dog is seven years old - I have taken him to large grooming centers (Pet Smart) and small salons in NY and NC and never have seen a place so dirty. Even the groomers looked sloppy and dirty with in their uniforms. After I left I received a phone call from Chris telling me I was welcome back and he felt we could have a working relationship. I told him I felt my time was wasted because no one told me about that shot and I had brought my dog to other groomers in NC and never once was it mentioned. But I am glad it happened -because it gave me a polite out never to return to that filthy place again!

We moved to NC about 4 months ago. We brought with us two rescue dogs that shared our home and12.5…read moreacre farm with us for about 5 years. They were free to roam among the chickens, horses, and wild animals. They were bathed with a water hose and rain drops. We knew we had to make other arraignments here. Dana's Pampered Pets came with high recommendations, and they exceeded our wildest dreams. We were amazed at the results that we experienced when we picked up two dogs who had never visited a grooming parlor before. They were beautiful, smelled wonderful and we were told that they were well mannered. We never thought a couple of scrappy farm dogs could look so good. Ronda will never groom my dogs or my daughter's dogs again!…read more She insisted that all four shih tzus be brought out to her van at one time, said they would be happier together. REally? When I saw the tiny space she crammed them in, I almost told her to forget it...but first time groom I let it go....she was here four hours and called me, said she had to go pee, so quick come get dogs.... When I went out there, she had one harness on right, the rest around bellies, etc....these dogs are a flight risk always and had already warned her about that, but she was too busy dumping them to care. I paid her (my bad) and she left..got the dogs inside and started looking them over......everyone of them had had their eyelashes cut off!!!!!! Despite the instructions I told her and wrote down for her, she half groomed, did not smooth nails if she cut them at all, they were shaved here and there, even I could tell where she changed to different blades, faces still had long hair on them, not shaved at all....they didn't have a clean smell, she cut more off the tail than I told her, and my small rescue who has back issues as I told her...she complained that she kept sitting down!!!!! She had also had told my daughter and me that she had a belly strap for that kind of thing, later denying that she had said it. Then, I noticed that lil bits (the one with back issues) ears were soaking wet, outside and inside, which led me to believe that she simply wet the high spots in these dogs instead of bathing them. After several days, getting over my chemo treatment and anger at what she'd charged me 280.00 for, not to mention what my babies went thru, I called her. Asked why she cut eyelashes off....her response was she guessed she just cut too short.....ha! these little dogs have pop eyes and their eyelashes are super important to keep dirt, etc out of their eyes.....duh, how could an experienced groomer not know that? Then I asked about lil bits ears being so wet that I had to towel them dry and she tried to say maybe she didn't want her ears dried.....what utter nonsense this woman spoke!!!!! She apologized several times but what she should have done was refund me every cent I paid her including the tip!!!! The dogs should have been called for one at a time, dumping them all at once does not give you time to look them over....ergo her reasoning, I'm sure! Groomers should never, never cut off a dogs eyelashes! they're there for a reason! Groomers should pay attention to the owners instruction....we're the customers! And when the owner sees at one glance that she did NOT trim their chin and muzzle as specifically told and written down....and tells the groomer....even if she did have to "go pee" she should have offered to come back and at least do what she should have done! I also feel that she didn't clean up after her last dog groom because after stopping for gas, so she said, she came straight here.... These issues I've mentioned are just the icing on the cake...it would take hours to really get All the details down, but this much should give anyone pause when considering using her as their groomer! All in all, I hope after reading this you reach out to other mobile groomers because this one does not do the right thing for the right reason!

The scent lasts for many days. 6) The times I have gone out to Rhonda's van, Our babies have been restrained properly. 7) I do not find her fee excessive at all. She comes to your house!
