Rowan is brand new to the City Centre and I've been dying to go! I decided to get my helix pierced as a birthday treat to myself. From the moment I walked in, it was an amazing experience from start to finish. The shop is super clean, welcoming, with a very cutesy vibe. The walls are adorned with lots of earrings to choose from in a varies of styles and metals so there is something for everyone! My piercer, Cynthia (a licensed nurse) was incredibly professional, knowledgeable, and made me feel completely at ease by explaining everything to me step by step. They used sterile equipment, and the process was quick, smooth, and essentially painless. She used a needle to create my helix piercing. A month later, I went back for another follow-up appointment so they could "down-size" my post. This is common with their piercings. The down-size post service was only $25 and I was in and out in under 15 minutes. Overall, I am absolutely in love with my new piercing! It is healing beautifully due to their expert aftercare advice. I use the spray (the advanced ear cleansing solution) on my ear twice a day. My 15yo daughter wanted to get a second lobe piercing, and I was on the fence about where to take her. We used a (fabulous! Lovely! Sanitary!) tattoo parlor for the first piercing when she was 11.. but oof. That atmosphere is not child friendly at all. The language, the pictures on the walls.. It was a bit much. The ladies at Rowan were super accommodating when we missed our scheduled appt time because I'm a n00b and didn't realize I'd have to park my hugeass church van in a parking garage. My child noticed it immediately. The nurse advised us to pierce that ear again. AN EIGHT YEAR OLD - pierce it AGAIN!! We decided to remove the earrings, and the nurse admitted that the earring that was flush to the ear was pierced at an angle. Total screw up. [[HIGHLIGHT]]My child waited months to do this. After researching, I booked an appointment with this location. We arrived on time for our appointment and were told they were running "a little behind". After waiting half an hour with nowhere to even sit comfortably, my daughter was feeling like she did not want to do it anymore. In this time she also watched a toddler get their ears pierced, which did not help her apprehension. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Once the nurse finally got to us, she was rushing us and even said "we need to stay on time for the next appointment" despite being 30 mins late for ours.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Needless to say, we left without the piercing. This place is a ripoff. Earrings are sold in pairs, first time I've ever seen earrings being priced individually for the left and right. Overpriced tiny earrings which are made of stainless steel that is upsold for a several hundred percent mark-up, which you are forced to purchase as part of the piercing. We only came here because a nurse is doing the piercing. That's the value proposition. The jewelry, add-on solutions they try to sell you at the end, the additional tip on top of the atrocious pricing is beyond ridiculous. It's all overpriced frills. I feel so ripped off after getting my daughter and niece's ears pierced. There's a difference between having a premium product and just blatantly ripping people off. Dropped nearly ~$400 for 2 piercings, I contend this falls under the ripoff category. read more

I had my daughter at 6 months old ears pierced here. Had no problem with the nurse they were fast and gentle so my baby wouldnt cry as much. The nurse made my baby laugh right after which made her calm down. They helped her at 7 months when her earring got stuck on my carrier. They were able to replace her lost earring and clean any blood to prevent infection. she's now 11 months and just got a jewelry change. Love the employees and the same nurse.
