Tobi is a great instructor for the beginner class. It was a lot of fun and not too hard. There a lot of flexibility w how hard you can go and Tobi gave alternate options for each lifting step. He also was a very clear and visual instructor that described where you should feel moves as well as overall flow and cool down options. I've taken one boxing class before and it kicked my ass--it was mostly running in circles and less boxing. This class was a lot more fun and easy to tailor to your energy level of the day. Just show up! This studio is really fun. Love the dark room and the music and lights. It gets you more into the mood of working out. I tried out a free class here and definitely worked up a sweat. I was greeted by a friendly host and the instructor was high energy, fun, and did her best to get instructions to the class full of students. We alternated between aerobic boxing with these large, water-filled punching bags and resistant and strength exercises, to high-octane music spun by the instructor (if I'm remembering correctly). I liked the alternating exercises and thought it was a fun change up for a workout. It was difficult for the instructor to get eyes on everyone all the time, so occasionally, I wasn't sure if i was doing an exercise right or if my form was OK, but I have a tendency to over-think it. There is a ring in the main area of the gym, so maybe there are some more conventional boxing style lessons or classes going on. In the end it wasn't really my jam for an ongoing workout, but everyone seemed to be enjoying it, and I can imagine it will definitely be some people's go-to class or at least a workout option some people will rotate in every few months. read more

The instructors are awesome & so are the workouts! The workouts are challenging but are set up for all levels of fitness. What a cool concept and studio! I took my first private boxing class today and received excellent instruction from Sami. I've never boxed before, so I wanted to get the basic form down, and Sami gave me helpful corrections and guidance. And it was a really, really hard workout. The sensor bags are motivating because you can track how hard you're hitting and how many calories you're burning -- the instant feedback makes me want to try harder! The private class area (upstairs) has lots of equipment like weighted balls, TRX straps, kettle bells, hand weights, resistance bands, and more which are incorporated into the private training (between bag work and boxing mitt rounds). I had so much fun! Can't wait to go back for group classes and maybe more private classes. The music was ON POINT. They played Beyonce and all of my favorite hits. Friendly and upbeat staff. Great vibes all around. The studio itself is clean and spacious. Two water refill stations, lots of lockers, and the usual bathroom amenities that you would expect at a trendy studio (hair ties, tampons, dry shampoo, deodorant spray, etc.). Street parking didn't work out for me (Sunday at noon), but the gym has a discounted rate available from a parking lot -- you'll get details when you book a class. Highly recommend! read more

Rowdybox is such a fun place! This is probably my favorite workout class I've ever taken. They do a great job of making sure new participants are up to speed and demo all the different punches prior to starting class. The class alternates between the bags and the bench so you don't have time to get tired of any particular move, and I always feel like I get a thorough full body workout. The besssst workout concept executed perfectly. I was only in town for 3 days so I took advantage of their first-time BOGO deal to take two classes - one with Sami and one with Bailey. I always like to try out new workouts when I travel. We don't have anything like Rowdybox where I live and was excited when I found it. They have great intro offers for first timers. Since I'm from out of town, I did the 2 classes for $32. I got to my first class early and was welcomed right away. They helped me get my wraps and gloves and showed me around. They had all the amenities that you would need for before or after class, including shampoo, conditioner, dry shampoo, deodorant, tampons, hair ties, lotion, and more. Now for the classes. I took class from Kisha and Markus. Both were incredible instructors. They kept the room engaged and working. They gave great technique cues and encouragement cues. They kept the classes moving. Been going to RowdyBox since the past 2/2.5 years and I highly recommend it. The group format classes are some of my favorite with a mix of HIIT style exercises with weight lifting as well as boxing drills. Great beats, different exercise formats, challenges, and different class formats adds a lot of variety and makes it easier to stick to the regime. The coaches and staff here are nice and accommodating. I've worked out with most of the coaches here and my take away has been that they are extremely inclusive, and committed to help people improve their fitness. The amenities are top notch too, and the studio is very well maintained and clean. Is it possible to be addicted to going to a gym? Rowdybox definitely might be your drink of choice then to see! I have done a lot of fitness class places locally and I always would drag my feet because I didn't feel like running , rowing or just being there sometimes. It is just the opposite at Rowdybox where everyone is friendly and you don't have to run/row at all while still sweating your ass off. The cardio is the fun part because you get to hit something! Basically it is a 10 round circuit class that is half boxing and half anaerobic training for 45 minutes that is designed to be fun. They got an easy to use app to schedule classes and purchase more classes. Most IMPORTANT it is a safe clean environment with required masks, limited class sizes, virtual options, and full cleaning between every class. read more

This is a totally unique workout experience to Seattle. Half boxing half weights on a bench. They also just added boxing only classes and there's an option to reserve just "the bag" for their regular classes. It's a great way to get into boxing if you have aren't interested in fighting in a ring. The workouts are fast and the music is always jamming. They teach you all you need to know in the warmup and you go through all the punches. There are a variety of weights so if you don't think you will be challenged you are wrong. The programming is great and the coaches demo all the movements. Street parking is easy to find and they also have paid parking in a lot if you reserve beforehand. Wraps and gloves are required and first time they loan you gloves. Sweat towels are provided, but unfortunately the showers are still closed. Everyone is masking still due to Covid. They have a crazy air filtration system so I know it will be safe working out there once mask restrictions are lifted. Give it a try and guarantee you will get hooked. read more

My favorite workout studio in Seattle, hands down. The best workout, the best instructors, the best community, all of it!!! When I heard of boxing, I didn't think I'd like it, but then I tried it once and I was hooked. It's the cardio push without the treadmill and heavy lifting combo for me. I just recently completed their new year fight camp challenge and I'm lifting more weight than I ever have. My body feels so good and strong! They have an inbody scan machine they use for their challenges, which is so nice to see the numbers and how your body changes (body fat comp, muscle mass etc). There is a punch meter in the water bag in their private training area (they do private training too which is also a huge plus) to measure the strength of punches too. The technology mixed with the workout that kicks my ass every time, a super welcoming and supportive community, and incredible instructors, it's a no brainer rowdy has blown up since it's opening. Oh.. and they love to celebrate. Any and all occasions :) Not to mention they have multiple showers, towels, hair dryers, etc in their locker rooms. Some background first - been active my whole life (played a bunch of sports growing up, did club and travel sports, etc.), but have never found a cardio workout that I enjoyed. I've done the whole half-marathon thing multiple times but always had to *force* myself to do cardio. Never thought I'd enjoy it, until RowdyBox came along! I seriously love RowdyBox, it's the workout I never knew I needed. It's not only a kickass workout that pushes your limits, but it's incredibly fun. High-energy, positive and motivating instructors, super cool vibe in the room with the special lights, bangin' beats...what more can you ask for? Classes are under an hour but time completely flies by because of the atmosphere that Sami, Brandon, and the entire team have created. Finally found a cardio workout that I actually look forward to! Classes are generally 50% boxing and 50% strength work on the floor/bench; they also offer a class type that is boxing for all of the rounds. The coaches offer lots of tips that help your form to become a better boxer (footwork, punches, defensive moves, etc.). Plus, the punching combinations taught in class change often, so you're always being challenged by working on something new. Everyone really tries to get to know you by name and as a person - it's a very special & welcoming community for sure. It's also a practical place to workout, too. They have a beautiful facility with showers (with amazing shampoo and conditioner included, btw), blow dryers, towels, etc., which is super convenient. There's free WiFi - I've definitely emailed on my work laptop before and after a class, lol. Water refill stations, hair ties, lockers for your stuff, towels offered for wiping off your sweat during class, etc. Even though it is downtown, parking has never been an issue for me. Pro tip: on weekends and after 4pm on weekdays, Amazon offers free parking (closest is Doppler). For you early birds, street parking is free before 8am. RowdyBox also offers a discounted parking rate at a nearby lot. At least give this place a shot, you won't regret it :) read more

I love this studio! We go at least weekly, but try to make it more often. All the coaches are incredible and really push you to work hard. I need to be distracted in my workouts by fun music and lights, otherwise I don't want to exercise. RowdyBox is like a dance party and group fitness combined, which is why I keep coming back!
