I was so unhappy and bills were not getting paid,. It was such a mess and my health was going south all at the same time. I felt like a ping pong ball being tossed back and forth with all the misguided calls and terrible patient service through United. Finally, after months of stress and having a new doctor who couldn't see me for FOUR months out, I'd had it and called a decent rep at United who helped me get another doctor. This time I was blessings with a doctor who obviously cares about seeing patients and not making them wait for months with concerning issues. I found Dr. Pascua! She isn't only analytical going over your medical history, she listens to all you say and explains what could be happening and why. Things not brought to my attention before that my other doctor should have caught. So far she's getting to the bottom of my scary episodes with hypoglycemia and other issues that need to be addressed. I've been wearing a monitor and feel much safer as she's sent me to specialists that are truly helping. At my age, it's important to have a doctor you can count on. There's even an app to check all your appointments and future necessary routine exams. Boom, it's all there from A to Z. Even your co-payments are listed! I feel so fortunate that something so bad turned out to be a so good. It's a secure feeling knowing you're being taken care of healthwise.

So I ended up going to the office she recommended and they ended up causing me to have to pay thousands of dollars for the colonoscopy because they used a billing code that was not within the preventive care billing codes & they are unwilling to change the code to reflect the fact that I was only there for a screening. I told the doctor about my being charged for the free screening and she stood behind the other office's billing codes without really seeming to care. I have now been contesting these charges for about a year, involving the local DA, legal aid, and the Department of Insurance. What a terrible experience!

She also barely let me talk, didn't include me in any decision making, and didn't give me time to ask questions. Funny how these things make my anxiety and heart rate spike in an appointment, but treating a patient with respect is harder than implying they have a heart condition or drug addiction. Don't see Dr. Alexander unless you want to be stigmatized for having medical anxiety/white coat syndrome and an Adderall prescription.
