The wait was not long but now I know why. They screens us for COVID and even sprayed our hands with sanitizer, which is fine but as we waited for the doctor my daughter took off her mask. Doctor walked up to the door and waited outside the door reading her chart.. came in asked why I didn't got to TX children since my little one got CT scan done at TCH. I responded with "her PCP referred us to you" she then got an attitude and asked for my daughter to leave the mask on or else she was not going to treat her. My daughter started to get fuzzy and didn't want the mask because the straps on the side was bothering her ears. Doctor then said she will not loose her license just because she don't want to have it on. Told me she was going to skip me til she put it back on and walked out of the room. I get it, COVID but it's only mandatory for 10yr old and +.. she didn't even try to look at my daughter in her face to say hello or to try to be more friendly. Dr. Gobran definitely does not work well with kids! The only reason why they have 1 Star because parking is free and yelp won't allow me to post unless I click on it.

My son was 2 when I started to take him to her. She would ask you questions and when you would respond she never would let you finish or she would just make you sound like you are very dumb. This Tuesday I took my son for his fallow up to see if his tube came out already and she got her tool to clean his ear out as she started to go in his ear. My son told her it hurts and she said not it doesn't I mean how in the world does she know if it hurt him or not. Then she keeped going and my son yelled and she said oh come on that didn't hurt you then I saw the tool and she was very quick to whip it off so I wouldn't see the blood from his ear. My son was in so much pain I couldn't even look in his ear and then more blood was coming out he told her I cant hear and she said well you wont stop crying how can you hear. Then she said let me give you a few mins I finally got him to calm down and we started to walk out and she was like wait where are you going. my son mind you he is 4 and he told her you hurt me and make me bleed I don't want you to touch me anymore. So we walked out and then he was still complaing of the pain and then he said he was fine. then as of last night around 11 he was crying in so much pain from his ear my husband and I took him to the ER and she asked who the dr was and I told her she said I did my residency with her and I wouldn't let her treat my dog. She said that there was multiple lacerations in the ear canal and it was discharging fluid. So the dr was able to give me a new ENT provider so my son can go to. We liked her so much after she came in and briefed us on our baby's status, that we decided to look her up and keep her. It has been a good decision on our part. From the moment our daughter was born through age 2 1/2, Sari has been our daughter's doctor. She is kind, patient, and full of knowledge. Our daughter has never been sick a day in her life, but has had to go in for all the vaccinations and such. The doctor has always reassured us that our daughter was right on track, and given us first time parents advice on feeding and when to get rid of the bottles and such. One time Dr. Miettinen even got our baby's eye to stop watering that had been watering for two months! Everyone had always thought she was crying before, so I was glad that that was finally settled. Even now that we have moved further away into suburbia, we will still make the drive back to keep our daughter a patient of Dr. Miettinen.

Although I am a patient of Dr. Knafo, I've only spoken to her 3 of the minimum 9 times I had appointments. The other visits I was seen by two other female doctors. Now this isn't a big issue if you are going for smaller concerns like check ups and well woman exams but I had a continuous stomach issue that the lack of consistency in visits very negatively effected. I ran the same tests multiple times and explained the same symptoms/reactions to the doctors each visit and we ran in circles. I understand this is a family practice and not a specialist, but at some point it's up to the doctors to admit they don't know and refer me to someone else. It took a year of this before I broke down crying and begged for them to refer me. I would like to commend Dr. Knafo on what she is TRYING to do. When I did get to meet with her she was very caring and serious about my mental health. ( I have anxiety and depression ) Although, I believe this effected her judgement a little too much, I often felt like she wouldn't take my other physical health concerns seriously until I started taking medication as she strongly urged for me to start taking lexipro whenever I saw her. I've been doing well with my mental health, and would often express to her the reason behind my being so wound up and on the verge of tears in her office is because I was a 19 year old college student battling a mystery issue and running the same tests every visit. Making appointments is easy, everything else over the phone is hit or miss depending on if they feel like taking your call at that time.

Her bedside manner is professional, compassionate and just plain good. Dr. Sami does not hesitate to give you the proper referrals to the necessary specialist when required. She does not just write prescriptions without making absolutely sure it is what you need and it does not conflict with something you may already be taking. The office schedules appointments and you are seen right away without a 1 hour wait time. I found her by accident and I am so thankful to God I did. I made an appointment for a Pap smear and well woman check, with concerns and wanting to discuss…read morebirth control options. None of that ended up happening. Started with the receptionist calling someone else to help me every time I went to the counter, it really seemed like she was untrained and it was very unprofessional. Then the nurses were very curt and didn't even bother making eye contact. Dr Sami came in and took my vitals, asked questions about family medical history, then did a breast exam. She was very cold and distant the whole time. After that I expected the pap, but she told me I'd be getting blood work and providing a urine sample and was done. I was ushered out the door without any of my concerns being addressed and without a Pap smear done. I left very upset and feel like I wasted my time and money. I will definitely not be returning, and do not recommend Dr Sami to anyone.
