She answered all my questions. She e served a LsU raise! For our pediatrician , we have been seeing Dr. Zertuche. She is extremely knowledgeable, polite and professional. She examined our newborn son and answered all our questions quite thoroughly. My wife and I are so happy with our experience thus far. We will continue to make this our one stop shop. This office is amazing!! They help me with every need when it comes to my kiddos.. all 4 of my children get seen by Dr. Ivan and he's such a great doctor he takes his time listening and is all around a nice person! I've read the other reviews and i thought I'd just shed some light on my thoughts .. wait time is to be expected the office is in the middle of a neighborhood, obviously they get busy i don't mind waiting as long as my kids are seen. The staff in the front were very cold in the beginning when the office had opened, but it seems they have gotten better they have definitely changed their customer service since opening. I highly recommend coming to this office and seeing for yourself how awesome it is ! read more

Don't bother coming here. The receptionist is one of the rudest human beings I've ever met. She has no business working as a service provider. There are a ton of people standing around doing NOTHING. Kids are sick and no one seems to care. They're not that busy, but we've been here for 2 hours and there are still 3 patients ahead of us. Great doctors but be ready to wait an average of 45 to 1 hours in the lobby plus 20 min in the room. Even with an appointment! As a dad is hard for me to take time off, and adding this crazy waiting times I now have to take almost half day off. Stop overbooking!!! read more

Do yourself a favor and go to a different pediatrician. TCH is so overrated and this location does not have the time to see your child. We have been with Dr. Ivan (who is a great physician) since my 5 year old was born, but this location is so overly saturated with patients that we NEVER get to see Dr. Ivan for any kind of illness. At Kelsey Seybold my child is able to be seen same day. The part that is incredibly frustrating is that even now for well checks my 5 year old that turned 5 on February 11, cannot be seen by Dr. Ivan until April. This is incredibly inconvenient given that he needs his vaccinations on time for daycare. Such a shame to have to switch pediatricians and not have a consistent physician for my child. read more

The doctors and nurse are nice and I normally have a pleasant experience, but the checkout woman was so rude and made getting a doctors excuse so difficult. She didn't believe me on what the doctor had said. I technically don't even need the excuse I can simply write it myself. She even made me wait in the waiting area. After reaching out to Heidi, she sent our concerns through the same review process as when we called to dispute. They do not review evidence, only the medical records provided by their own. We received calls to settle for $2,000 which is still a slap in the face. Unfortunately, we have no choice but to take the legal advice we have received. Our insurance will fight the charges and we will report Dr. Zertuche to the Texas Medical Board. We have dug into this and have the call records and multiple recorded voicemails with timestamps and those timestamps are well after the lab results timestamps showing that Dr. Zertuche knew the samples were not viable before sending us to the ER with my young baby son and putting us through 8 hours of testing. We are a small family and charging us any money for this is not right. I am not looking for compensation but for this to simply be made right. Wrong is wrong and right is right. There is negligence here. All we want is acknowledgment and the bill to be taken care of. We should not have to pay for this. read more

Horrible receptionist. I changed pediatricians thinking this local doctor's office would be more convenient and friendly. The receptionist was giving me run around telling me my insurance wasn't at this location and clearly it was. I have confirmation number and yet she was giving me difficult time. She is racist. We find the staff here courteous and have never had to wait very long, if at all, past our appointment time (I do try to book morning appointments which probably helps). We see Dr. Ivan and really enjoy his no nonsense approach to practice. I feel like he genuinely cares about my kid and offers very useful advice. We are moving to a new neighborhood soon but will continue to come to this practice even if it will be a bit of a drive (that's how much I like it here). read more

I took my daughter in today for her 15 month check-in. We waited over an hour to see the doctor, by which time my daughter was beside herself. It is already difficult enough to take a child for vaccines without torturing her with a long wait. The staff was lovely and friendly, but I am so frustrated. Filling out several packets of information while waiting with a 15 month old and without my husband to help me was incredibly unrealistic. We will return for her 18 month appointment, because my son is due at that time, but I'm not sure that we will continue to use them afterwards. No one acknowledged that our wait time was extraordinary or spoke with me about any reason. I'm really, really frustrated and unimpressed. read more

We saw Dr. Ivan for our daughter and started to take our infant son. We have decided to spread out vaccines for various reasons, but our children will be fully vaccinated at 4 years old. This office's policy is that they refuse to treat or see a child who is not participating in the CDC recommended vaccination schedule. Sucks for us, absolutely, but I understand that offices are allowed to have their own policy. My issue was with the lecture we received, the interrupting when I calmly explained my reasons, and the fact that the doctor stood in front of the door with his arms crossed asking me questions in a completely demeaning and unprofessional manner. Partly due to my postpartum hormones and my anger, I started crying. The doctor then aggressively said we could speak to the manager and abruptly left the office without any other words. The office manager did call back the next day and offered apologies. My rating is to let others know that if you are attempting any other vaccination schedule that is not CDC recommended you should go to another office. Also, because the doctor was so rude to us. read more

The system interface is so easy to use and the staff is very responsive. Currently seeing Dr. Ivan and I'm pleased with his care for my son. Highly recommend. read more

I have been taking my son to this place for a year now, and we couldn't be happier. It's fairly easy to get a sick child appointment, and we never have a long wait. Dr. Miettinen treats Henry with kindness, and her diagnoses have always been spot on. I like the way the staff handles vaccinations--it's as un-traumatic as possible for the baby and for me. Having a nurse to talk to and the after hours number to call has been great, too, since sometimes I'm not sure if the baby really needs a doctor visit or not. In fact, having the office easily available by phone may have saved my son's life when he was 3 days old. Dr. Miettinen identified the problem as soon as I described it and sent us right to the ER at TCH West Campus. Dr. Miettinen is moving out of state, but we will continue to visit this practice and give the other doctors a try. I will update if the quality diminishes at all. read more

Great Doctors and Nurses. Terrible front desk staff. We have really liked seeing Dr. Altobelli. She is a wonderful doctor and has been there for us with our first child. The nurses are also fantastic. All of our interactions with the health professionals at this location have been superb and we leave feeling confident our son received the best possible care. However, the front desk staff have been nothing but a pain. It takes about 10-15 minutes minimum just to talk to someone on the phone to schedule an appointment. Once you get an appointment, don't expect to be seen for at least 30-45 minutes after your appointment time. The front desk staff couldn't care less about you when you arrive. We had an 8:30 am appointment (the first appointment time of the day) on Saturday morning 10/27 and arrived 15 minutes early. There were about 5-6 other patients with the same appointment time, but we only had to see a nurse. We were the second in line to check in and the woman at the front desk literally did not even look up at us while asking our name. She was very rude and obviously did not care. We waited for 35 minutes, while ever other patient had been called to see the doctor and most had already completed their appointment. At this time we were the only people in the waiting room. We checked back with the front desk woman to see what was going on and she asked if we were checking in. We had to tell her we had already checked in and with her! It turns out she had not checked us in, but lied to us and told us she had. Another 15 minutes later a nurse came out to get us. The nurse confirmed our suspicions that she had not checked us in. The front desk woman was rude, unprofessional and treated us like trash. We love the doctors, but the front desk staff has made many of our appointments miserable. All we wanted was to know what was going on and she wasn't even nice enough to tell us that. I wish I had gotten her name. read more

The back office staff were great and so was the physician, Dr. Smith. We were taken back promptly and with all smiles. The front office though was a different story. The two women I spoke with were very cold and unwelcoming. They seemed to be far too impatient/busy to attend to me. The two women were asking me the same questions and didn't seem to communicate well with each other. I also didn't think it very professional to be yelling to one another from across the office. I expected a more warm and attentive front office staff. read more

I've been taking my son here for 9 years. This place is good enough for immunizations and strep, etc. Think HEB clinic needs. Beyond that I would not recommend. Three examples: - His lips were COVERED in cold sores. No advice on how to lessen the symptoms and when the culture showed nothing it was pretty much a shoulder shrug. Luckily I was able to treat him with my meds. I wish I hadn't waited 5 days to do that. - His foreskin was stuck pulled back. She manually pulled it in line and in front of my son said "if it happens again he'll need to be circumcised." Yeah, no. - He had 6 weeks of diarrhea. They ran 2 stool samples during that time and it showed slight abnormalities. Recommended we see a specialist but they're not available for 6 weeks so I asked if they could do the next round of testing in preparation. I was told no, don't bring him back unless he loses "a sufficient amount of weight or has blood in his stools". And yeah, I have that in writing. I found a non-TCP doctor at memorial Herman to see him 2 days later. Getting his prior test results took 2 trips to the office and about an hour of me standing there trying not to lose my cool. They even denied he'd ever had a second sample done at one point. There's gotta be better. read more

I do not recommend TCPA for urgent care. Its the worst place to get urgent care for your kids! We waited for 45 minutes to see the doctor and finally we were told that the doctor will not be able to see us. Best place for urgent care in the Heights area is Signature Care ER on T.C. Jester and W. 18th street. TCPA needs to get their act together! read more

During a routine well child exam, the doctor started to retract my son's foreskin. My son is intact and this should never be done. When I asked what she was doing, she responded in a very patronizing manner, that she was "not hurting him" and continued to do so. I told her to stop. She did not. I was so stunned and furious. At the very least, she should have stopped what she was doing and explained what and why she wanted to do it. I should have grabbed him and left the office immediately. I was too stunned. Regardless of whether she believes what she is doing is right or she believes she is not hurting him, stop means stop, particularly when you are handling someone's genitals. I will never go back there. read more
