Not a great experience in trying to obtain home insurance from Roxanne. Email communication was difficult and her tone wasn't professional.

After my last review, a lot of my issues had been addressed, my service with this office increased significantly. However my most recent experience is the straw that broke the camel's back. I use to have two vehicles on my policy, I dropped one because I had sold it and adjusted my policy that same day. I was told by an agent in the office that my monthly premium would go down to $100. After 2 months of paying the new adjusted rate my bill went up to $170, no notice or invoice explaining. I had to call and ask why, apparently when I revised my coverage, my account wasn't updated for 2 months, my revised plan actually went up in cost from when I dropped my second vehicle and because I was not given the correct information and the company did not update my account in a timely manner I am now "back paying" the different from what I was paying to what I was suppose to. So State Farm's lack of due diligence caused this inaccuracy and I, the customer am being punished for it? When I called Roxanne's office to get an explanation about what is going on and what I could do to possibly address the situation so I wasn't going to be paying nearly double what I was quoted. All I was told that I could by more policies like renters insurance with the bulk policies, I would be getting a break, so I have to spend more money to save money? I wasn't getting any form of help and the office was far from helpful. I am dropping this insurance and going with another company because of how poor this experience was. If you can, maybe get Randy Russell's office or just go with a better insurance company. read more

We recently had a water pipe break and an auto accident. Christina did a great job taking all the information from us & explaining the claims process. She also followed up with us to make sure the claims office had contacted us to handle the claim. Christina is not only professional and helpful, she is always very pleasant over the phone. This agency is downright unhelpful. If you need proof of insurance -- go fly a kite. Want to add a driver? Entirely too difficult. I was abroad, let them know. When i got back, they told me I'd have to back pay so I was insured while the car was parked and I was out of the country before I could be reinstated. When I pushed back, they backed down. I was given incorrect information - they tried to steal from me. Later, I was repeatedly and insistently told I'd have to provide my social security number. When I refused, my policy issued anyway. Another piece of incorrect information. Moreover, the people here are DOWN RIGHT RUDE!! I'm fleeing this terrible business. read more

Worst customer service ever, high employee turnover (never saw the same face twice), and a trail of locals who've fled to other agents. Tried for 6 months to get a call back on some changes to one of several policies. Finally pulled them all and took them to another agent. If negative 5 stars was an option here, she'd get that. read more

I've been with this office for 10 years without a problem or a claim. But after some bad information they gave me during the fire evacuation, I have left State Farm completely and switched all my policies to a new insurance company. I need an insurance agent I can trust. My town had a mandatory evacuation during the Caldor fire. When I called the office to see what was covered, they told me since it was a mandatory civil authority evacuation State Farm would cover up to 14 days in a hotel. I called back later that day specifically to ask if my deductible had to kick in first and they told me No my deductible did not apply. Unfortunately, I did not get that in writing. We ended up spending half the week at a friends place and three nights at a hotel in Reno. When I went to file the claim for the three nights, it was denied. Long story short... They made two mistakes. One, a hotel would've only been covered if the fire was within a mile from my house which wasn't the case. Two, my deductible did in fact have to apply before any reimbursement. I filed complaints with all appropriate agencies but because this office won't admit they told me my deductible didn't apply, I'm out over $600 for the hotel bill. I will never do business with this office or State Farm again. I need an agent that I can trust to give me the correct information when I need it. read more

Not impressed. We called the office looking to insure a recently purchased vacation home on North Shore. We were told they wern't interested UNLESS we signed over for State Farm to insure our home in the Bay Area as well. What kind of strong-armed tactic is that? read more

Until today I have been insured with Roxanne Duffield since 2001. I have had some small annoying issues in the past, but never got around to switching agents until now. Today I received a letter from the DMV saying the registration on our new car was going to be dropped because it was not insured. This was really confusing because when we bought the car, I had 2 phone calls with Roxanne Duffield explaining that we had sold our old car and bought a new one. She supposedly switched over everything to our new car. I got insurance cards in the mail for it and everything. It turns out, that on our second phone call, Roxanne must have deleted our new car and kept the insurance for our old car. Thank goodness nothing happened from 1/10/2018 until today because our new car was not insured that whole time thanks to Roxanne's incompetence. I should also mention that Roxanne was short with me and rushed me on the phone. I really like State Farm Insurance, but Roxanne should be avoided completely. There are other agents in Truckee and my advice is to use anyone else. read more
