We love Katie. You don't just get a wedding planner, you get a friend. We live in California, but…read morewas planning a wedding to have in New York. Where do I start? I found Katie and she was amazing. She was a God sent. She gave us options for everything and walked us through everything. The time difference was a struggle, but she was up late repling to all my messages. I'm the type of bride, where I just wanted to show up and everything was taken care of. Since we were planning from a distance, she made that happen. She went over and beyond with great ideas. On our way to the airport to NY, for our wedding, we found out my husband's suit never arrived in NY. Since we were about to get on a plane, I texted Katie our situation and when we arrived in NY, she had taken care of everything and his suit was being sent overnight. She is absolutely amazing with kids. My son and nephew got a bit wild and put their swords on top of the closet and they were told they would get it back once they were done getting ready and behaved. They called her "the boss" and kept telling my sister in law and I that "the boss" took it. We applauded her. My 2 year old grandson was extra crazy and wanted to run around as we were waiting to go into our reception. She scooped him and kept him in line till we were announced. She feels more like family and a friend. When you are planning the most important event in your life, make sure you have Katie on your team.

I live in MA, so I appreciated that she accepted PayPal as means of payment, and was accommodating to communication mostly via email and phone call. Quick anecdote: At the beginning of our reception, my husband and I realized that we forgot to bring snacks for our after party, Katie took the lead on ordering pizzas later in the evening and stayed later than she was scheduled to, to make sure everything turned out okay. We would book Katie again in a heartbeat. Thank you for your enthusiasm, professionalism, and attention to detail!

She and her…read moreteam helped our big day to run smoothly which allowed us to enjoy the evening to the fullest. From creating a schedule that fits for our venue to google docs with all important information, Angela made sure everything is covered. A couple weeks before the wedding she handed the coordination with our vendors, many of which she already knew thanks to her years of experience. On our wedding day, Angela, Shaye, and Haley were on top of everything!! From directing vendors to setting up everything exactly how we discussed it, directing guests, checking in with my wife and I regularly, to the smallest of details like hanging ear protection headphones over the highchairs for our little guests. We would not have wished for a better team to have on our side that day! If you are planning your wedding, hire Angela and her team at Elite! They are absolutely amazing!!

Unfortunately, I do not recommend Angela of Christofora Events. My daughter hired her for the day…read moreof coordinator because it was required by the venue. Two weeks before the wedding, Angela recommended that my daughter change her choice of tables telling her why her choice would negatively impact the success of the day. She also discouraged my daughter by telling her the venue hadn't done too many weddings. We found Angela to be inflexible. It was raining the morning of the wedding. The venue was willing to wait until an hour before the ceremony to determine whether it would take place inside or out. Angela tried to pressure my daughter 5 hours before the ceremony to make a decision. Thankfully Angela's unnecessary pressure was ignored, the rain stopped and my daughter was able to have the outdoor wedding she wanted. At the reception, all guests were seated and ready to begin food service. Angela insisted they stick to her schedule and wait even though guests were hungry and the kitchen was ready to serve. My daughter asked the venue manager to begin food service which they did. While the bride was eating her salad, Angela went over to her and scolded her for not going through "the chain of command." Finally, Angela left the reception, leaving her assistant behind, without ever notifying the bride. Angela should have been a source of comfort and encouragement for the bride. Instead, it almost seemed like she was going out of her way to add stress.

Her husband, Harvey, also accompanied her and passed out bubbles and programs to our guests which was so unbelievably sweet and generous. As a guest, it is pretty cool to pretty much have a place for the weekend, and do events the entire weekend. Also not to mention to not have a curfew or any time restrictions. First on friday, in the evening, we attended the toast. it was nice, and pretty cool to ride in a golf cart on the way to your destinations in between places. Only thing is it is a little cold to do things outside. the heat lamps at the toast did help, but everytime the wind blew and that the ground was wet, it was making everything cold, including me. Anyways tho, the event was gorgeous, and it was a perfect stay underneath the pavolon. The next day was the wedding. And again a bit cold to be outside, but bundling up helps. The view was gorgeous with mountains surrounding everyone. Next we took the golf carts to the barn. Will admit, since there was lots of people, it should have been a little more organized as far as getting people on the golf carts, but i think they managed pretty well. Now the barn, is so beautiful! Love the big setting with the bar, and the bar outside as well. Didn't really like the music tho, but that's more up to the wedding party-- like a little less electronic sounds and more full songs. If i danced to the full everytime we touched by cascada it would have been awesome! the floor is heated in the barn and it was pretty warm in there, which helped the people who were cold from the outdoors at least. love the atmosphere and it is a big place also. On Sunday, we went back to the barn for some breakfast. again tho kind of cold if people leave the barn door open. Overall fun atmosphere and cool place. Definetely different from the normal city husslers.

We couldn't have wished for a better location, right from the moment we saw Stone Tavern Farm, we fell in love with the place. The fact you have no time restrictions and can pretty much do whatever you want for a whole weekend meant our wedding would be completely unique. We got married at the end of September and had stunning weather as well as early fall leaf colors, it was perfect. We worked closely with John (the owner), Ashley (wedding coordinator) and Colin (onsite manager). Leading up to the wedding, John and Ashley are clearly very busy and sometimes didn't respond as quickly as we would have liked, but when they did, they calmly fixed all of our concerns. We were having nearly 200 people for the weekend and due to there being another wedding location nearby, finding accomodation for later responders was challenging but John promised everyone would get somewhere and he personally insured it happened. When it's your wedding week, John and his team make you feel like the most important people in the world and they handle EVERYTHING. From the cake topper breaking the morning of the wedding, to making sure all the guests are well taken care of while waiting for the ceremony to start (because our first look photos took longer than expected), to ensuring the bridal and groom actually get to eat at the cocktail hour and reception, to a STUNNING fireworks show! As with any wedding there is a great deal of planning involved. Because we were having a 3 day event, this workload was tripled. We started by looking at vendors recommended by Stone Tavern Farm as well as some of our own. Friday night we had John's BBQ (delicious!) and karaoke. Saturday we had cold cuts for lunch and lawn games and then for the ceremony used the phenomenal Rhinecliff as our caterers (Dale and James were LEGENDS) and the sublime Larry Siegel Band for our musicians. Sunday was a wonderful brunch in the pavillion (STF provided). Our flowers were provided by the Catskill Flower Shop and they were simply stunning, Lydia was extremely easy to work with and thoroughly professional. The talented Hendrick Moy was our wedding photographer. Also, Ashley did a wonderful job with our drapes and decor. All of these vendors were some of the finest I had ever seen at ANY wedding. The Rhinecliff catered to our Italian family on the bride's side and English family on the groom's side. Cocktail hour was well served and the main courses were hot and delicious (go for the short ribs!) The Larry Siegel Band were a 7 piece live band that played for almost 5 hours, they had a varied repertoire and all of our guests were floored by their talents. The drummer even played with the B52's in a previous life! When we met with Lydia at the Catskill Flower shop she took our "vision" and turned it into perfect table arrangements, bouquets, and other details into reality. Lydia even helped us to build on our ideas and gave us great recommendations for candles and other small details that made the ceremony site and barn look absolutely beautiful. Our only issue was with Rolling V Transportation. They were providing transportation for our guests to and from the ceremony. I would not recommend them at all, they wanted to pick up some guests at 12pm for a 4pm wedding start! They were completely useless and didn't seem to know the area at all. Thankfully John and Ashley stepped in and personally ensured that everyone got to and from the wedding. All in all we had a completely stunning and memorable wedding. Many people commented that it was one of the best weddings they had ever been to. Standing outside the barn at the cigar bar watching the climax of the day a huge private fireworks display cannot be put into words. Thank you everyone at Stone Tavern Farm for making our wedding the greatest day of our lives.
