My friend hosted a party at this Recreation Center. She had rented 3 tables which on the website state that "Each 8' table rental includes a grill and seats 8-10 people." She specified that we would have over 40 children in attendance and it was pertinent that we would like to rent the 3 tables with most shade since one of their many rules include no set up of canopies, tables or chairs. After speaking with the park staff, they said they would honor our request in reserving tables in most shade. Fast forward to the day of event, and we arrive at 10am to find that someone has makeshift "reserved" two tables in full shade. The tables with our reservation were in full sun and one of the grills is very distant from our tables. Frantically we contact the park staff to clear up if our reservation was correct, in fear that the people who set up the makeshift reservation moved our cards. They state that the tables are numbered, we did not find a number on the tables to verify. Then they said that we had the correct assignments and gave us the 3 tables that were closest together. And then they say that the grills are first come first served and that the rentals Do Not come with the grill despite the statement on the website. No one was using the grills at the time so we set up to start cooking since guests would begin arriving at 12pm. The reserved tables became useless as they were in direct sun the entire time and we resorted to sitting on the ground in the shade. The makeshift reserved tables were empty and not in use at all, until 3:30pm. I understand that in their eyes they felt that it was okay to use unmarked tables, but that's really rude that the tables were make shift reserved and did not need to be used until 3:30. First come first served means that people arrive to use it from that point they arrive and forward, and not to be used as a place to dump stuff and then return to the table later in the day. If the park allows that kind of behavior then there's absolutely no reason to pay the rental fee, especially when the staff contradict the website regarding grills. The purpose of paying for the rental is to reserve specific tables as desired. The only positive is that the park is quite clean. I did notice the custodian come by to change the trash bags around midday but the bins filled up fast. We did not go to the playground section but it looks adequate. Also the park rangers frequently patrolled and they noticed that the tables next to us that were makeshift marked "reserved" sat empty for hours and eventually said that we could use the tables and we could simply move if they arrived to use the table. The restrooms were cleaner than most park restrooms. One of the women's sinks was clogged, and there was no toilet seat cover in at least one stall, but at least they were stocked in toilet paper. read more

10/10 i went during the day, during the week and I love this park. Nice size. Big enough to walk a few laps around and get in some miles. I walked about 5 times around in 45 min and clocked 2.5 miles. There are tennis courts a big play area for children and plenty of open grass areas. It's right on Olympic so there's the sound of the traffic but if you have on headphones you don't even notice it. Also plenty of grills, picnic tables and a bathroom. So if you work in the area this is a great place to sit for lunch. Dogs are welcome on leash. read more

Disclaimer: I did have one negative encounter when I went to view the space. Based on the overwhelming kindness from all other staff. Came here for a picnic. Totally forgot this place existed even though my friend lived near here for years. First time here. They have bathrooms, but they close at 5pm or 6pm on the weekends. Lots of grassy area and shade/trees. They have pickle ball or tennis courts here, some picnic tables, and playground, etc. It's a very big park. Free easy parking. Roxbury Park Community Center is the building in the southeast section of ROXBURY Park in Beverly Hills. One of the noteworthy services this center offers is free lunch Monday-Friday from 11am-12:15 The lunch served is very basic; a little protein, bread, veggies or fruit and juice. If you can make a $3.00 donation or not, it's ok especially if you're homeless or a senior on fixed income and have limited funds for basic sustenance. The issue of homelessness has become a serious issue everywhere. The issue of not having enough for a basic meal is also a serious issue. Not everyone qualifies for government subsidized assistance. Some of the government run facilities are so crowded and too far for some westsiders/BH area residents. Learning about this lunch service for people in need without the hassle of qualifying or out of pocket costs is really great. There are people that reside in affluent Beverly Hills who are 'down and out,' for whatever reason. We are not in any position to judge, we should help when we can. As it may very well be you and me in a state of need. Glad to know Beverly Hills has resources to keep Roxbury Community Center and this facility open and able to help provide with a free lunch meal. To be honest, this city should have additional centers offering free meals to anyone, especially to a single parent with a child or children. Also to the elderly, who desperately need a to be cared for, even if it's a basic lunch meal. To reserve your meals, this community center prefers you call 24 hrs in advance to reserve your meal (310) 285-6844 24. Again, if you're down and out and need a meal, come to this center for a free lunch Monday thru Friday 11:30-12:15. It's not a fancy lunch, but it's nutritious, healthy and tastier than having nothing else to eat. read more

I have signed up for classes in the past pre-COVID and I probably wouldn't sign up again because it's hard to find metered parking on weekends with other classes in session. They don't send advance notices to students letting them know there are big events happening at the park on class days. There's a library inside with a good selection of children's books. read more

Nice park but a little small and no designated off leash dog area. We were there around 11 and it was totally empty so the baseball field made a nice play to play. The park is mostly shaded so nice on a hot day, but terrible for the mud I am just glad we were not there to actually play baseball. The infield was flooded and very uneven, high chance for you to trip or sprain an ankle! The outfield was way too saturated with a few puddles and mud patches throughout. ***Covid-19 update*** There are bathrooms and they seemed clean but I did not see anyone actually sanitizing. These People were so disrespectful to me for my daughters Baby shower they turned what was suppose to be a wonderful and joyous occasion to a very sad and crazy experience I kept getting the different information they messed up my reservation for the rooms that I wanted everything I asked them was no and when it got closer to my event being over they disrespectfully screamed in the door for us to get out and at no time did I ever see them do that in any other rooms. read more

This is a beautiful well-maintained, clean park in Beverly Hills. There is metered parking in front. The park has basketball courts, tennis courts, volleyball courts, a baseball field, a soccer field, lawn bowling, and croquet. They also have a preschool that runs here and a playground. They have picnic tables and a community center you can rent out for events. It really is a lovely place with lots of trees and grass. I highly suggest coming here to hang out and play sports, take your children, relax, and entertain. read more

Very good park for the kids. I like that while adding and updating the play area for kids, they chose to still keep some of the older areas I grew up with, such as the metal excavators/ mechanical tractor section with all the water and sand sensory play. Now that I left the LA bubble for quite a bit, I further appreciate the mixture of very observant Jews playing with their kids, mixed with Hollywood aspirants hoping to be noticed cuddling their pets on the sides. read more

One of the best park to take your kids. Besides all the play ground sets, you also have ample green grass to kick soccer or throw football. Run a game of full court basketball or hit tennis balls against the wall. It great for having picnics or have birthday parties. Free city provided WIfi and clean restrooms! read more

I love this park. Me & Roxbury Memorial Park go back a long way. I've been using it as a pit stop for years, because they have the cleanest bathrooms anywhere, in the community center building. And while I'm at the park, I can't ever resist a stroll on the walking path that encircles the space. Yesterday I decided to drive over and finally take some photos - it was such a gorgeous day & the purple jacaranda trees are blooming. Olympic was all torn up for road work, so I picked rather a bad time to be in that area. But, as a previous reviewer mentioned, you don't hear the road noise while you're in Roxbury Park. It's really amazing. Not only were they resurfacing Olympic, but the picnic tables in the park were being painted & the trees were being trimmed. Roxbury was getting a facelift, typical for Beverly Hills, haha, and just in time for summer. When you're in this lovely wooded park space, you've got a view of Century City's tall buildings to one side as well as a view of Hollywood Hills on your other side. In addition to the walking path & the beautiful Community Center, the 11-acre space includes a multitude of other great attractions: Basketball courts. Kiddie play areas. A putting green. 4 Tennis courts & a backboard. A clubhouse. Shaded picnic areas with barbecues. A ball field. 2 Sand volleyball courts. Lawn bowling green. Croquet green. When I was a kid, we played croquet in my grandparents' yard, in the summer. Holidays like Memorial Day & Fourth of July always meant that, along with the badminton net & racquets, the croquet set would come down from the attic. It was one of our family traditions. It's a great game for little kids, it's simple. And, as with badminton, no one is likely to get hurt. Not surprisingly, Roxbury Park is very popular with local residents.....to the point where parking can be difficult. Bring quarters, because metered spaces surround the facility. The Community Center is gorgeous, built around an enclosed patio where the landscaping does justice to Beverly Hills' image of elegance. In fact, yesterday I noticed doormats with the Beverly Hills logo at the center's entrance. I can't get that Beverly Hills song outta my head........haha...... The patio was loaded with Seniors playing cards & games, and the Senior library was open for business. It's a wonderful spot to pass the time, and word is definitely out. This park is a lovely city oasis, filled with flowers and trees, even a rose garden. Roxbury Park is one of my all-time favorite hangouts. If you happen to be passing by on a nice day, do take time to stop and smell the roses...... read more

Every Saturday morning I go this beautiful park. But every time I walk by the lawn bowling area I shake my head. Here is a bunch of old white people (I'm white by the way) pretending they're in apartheid South Africa. I see no minorities playing the game; they might as well have a "Whites Only" sign on the gate. And every Saturday I notice the same old white guy with his MAGA hat on. I understand what MAGA means to him ... the good old days where he can relive his Jim Crow ideals. Sad to see in Bev Hills. read more

Some facilities are closed but you can still enjoy the well maintained grass, majestic trees including redwoods, lots of both sun and shade, and that cool "Beverly Hills" vibe. I love Roxbury Park. There's a nice, green expanse of lawn for lounging, a path for walking the dog, two playgrounds with all the bells and whistles, plus tennis courts and a lawn bowling green. While it's located right off of busy Olympic Blvd., the park is lush and quiet. It's one of my favorite places to take the kiddo on a sunny L.A. day. There's metered parking available on Roxbury and around the back near the playground area. Picnic tables and rooms at the community center can be rented for parties. Beverly Hills residents can reserve three months in advance. Everyone else can reserve one month in advance. The staff here is helpful and friendly. read more

This park has a lot to offer! From lawn bowling to tennis courts, to a baseball field, to running paths, to a jungle gym - there is a place for just about everyone at Roxbury! I enjoy the shade of the trees during my runs and when I walk to work. It offers a nice oasis amidst the hustle and bustle of Olympic Blvd. There is street parking available on both Olympic (except 7-9am and 3-7pm) and Roxbury (2 hour limit). The major downside of this park is how small it is. The entire spread is no more than a block or two, so it's not the park for long walks or runs. However, if you're looking for a nice place to enjoy the scenery and cool down, the foliage offers a great way to do so. This park is great for all ages. Kids can play on the jungle gym, adults can play tennis or slow pitch baseball, and seniors can enjoy lawn bowling. read more

Since they updated the park that is great. There is shade for kids to play in the playground. There's also a lot of activities for adults to do there. The tennis court facilities are well-maintained. I really enjoyed going there and spending time with my kids. There are also facilities that you could rent over there to have kids birthday parties. On weekends you can see sometimes at least three or four parties being held at the same time. read more

This is such a nice park! I just moved to the area and it's a great place to take kids to play, dogs to walk, or even picnics to! I especially like it because it is close to my house, but one of the rare amenities of this park is the 4 HOUR street parking they have available. Whenever I have gone, i have always seen open spots, too. There is tons of shade and big trees. They also have a community center with lots of classes and activities to do. I haven't yet gotten a chance to try anything out, but in the magazine information guide, many of the classes offer one free session, so why not! There's also a play structure which kids seem to really enjoy playing on. My roommate did mention a lot of homeless people hanging around the park. I personally haven't seen any laying around as she described, but there were a few walking around. One man, for example, had a bag of trash draped across him like a sash. It was interesting to say the least. I wish LA had better programs for the homeless so they wouldn't have to dress that way while loitering the parks, but they didn't bother me personally. The park was also pretty clean. No trash laying around at all which makes it so much nicer. Try it out! read more

Doesn't look like much when you walk past, but this park, specifically the tennis courts, is to me the proverbial portal through the wardrobe, as they say. Do they say that? Who knows? Not I. What I do know is that my lover (now wife) and I have been madly in love for the past 3 months, a sultry affair that knows no match. Wouldn't ya know, we met playing tennis at this very park. 4.5 Stars This is a great park (on a temperate weather day)! One of my oldest and dearest friends lives walking distance to this park. Before her annual Labor Day picnic, we took our son here to burn off some energy. Unfortunately it was during a major heat wave. The park has many nice features. It has 2 separate play areas for the kids. There were some unique pieces of equipment that I have not seen in any other park. They had this very large circular ride that the kids can run and then hop on board. It was not a merry go around. It was at a slight angled tilt... Too bad I did not snap a pic. The park has a community center, tennis courts, practice walls, basketball court, picnic benches, volleyball and nice city views. You can park directly across the street from the meters for free. read more

Since I like to know about local parks, I figure I'll start writing about them. This park is very well maintained with lawn bowling greens, tennis courts, a soccer field and baseball diamond. There are also a number of large trees, grills and picnic benches. Parking directly borders on the park and I believe it is metered for two hours. I usually park on Bedford Drive which is very close and has free two hour parking if you can find it. This is a great place to bring the paper and read for a few hours. They have some sports practice here in the afternoons, but otherwise it seems fairly quiet. read more

Another picturesque place to play tennis in Los Angeles...4 lighted courts all fenced individually. Related to Beverly Hills Tennis, so if you have a membership there, it works for the Roxbury courts as well. And they take card now, so you (or at least me) don't always have to run to the atm on your way to the courts. There's street parking on the east side of Roxbury and metered parking on the west side of the st. I wish I could say more about all the other things the park has to offer, but maybe this summer... read more

We love this park! It's a great place for all ages. When we can't figure out what to do with our kids, we always opt for Roxbury park. I like the fact that they have different sections for different ages. I also like the fact that the playgrounds don't have sand. They do have a sand section, but it is it's own section. I'm not a fan of sand; it just gets everywhere. The equipment is new and there are lots of different things your kids can do. They have the typical slides, monkey bars, swings, climbing things, seesaws, etc. but they also have these cool things kids can turn in,hang on, and , and jump on. They have a new size field and basketball court. There is lots of parking (metered). What I also like is that they have a party room you can rent, in addition to the gazebos you can also rent.
