We have been part of this family for alittle more than 5 years. My two granddaughters go here and they love it. They have many dance classes all the way from tiny little dancers to adult classes. Everyone from the staff to the families are very friendly and engaging. They the whole session getting ready for the end of year performances that are amazing. They are very professionally done and they are enjoyed by both the dancers and the families.

It was a wonderful afternoon filled with giggles and chuckles. Seeing the next generation of comedy superstars! "The Second City: Comedian Rhapsody" consists of sassy sketch comedy, songs and, of course, their trademark improvisation. They made up skits and jokes right on the spot. Delightful. Less than 2 hours. 1 intermission. Beautiful venue with a wonderful view of the Delaware river . Acute venue with great views and comfy seats that I am told we go under a renovation soon . In the current interpretation, directed by Lauren Keating, casting for many of the main characters has been made more inclusive and in several roles, "re-gendered" as female - including Mr. Scrooge himself (Dee Pelletier.) As a result, the sharp elbows and volatility of a classic George C. Scott or Albert Finney Scrooge seemed far more muted, especially as the staging was less lavish than in previous productions. And I don't know if the urban contemporary dance number at the end and the "updating" of several key scenes (Tiny Tim becomes a veterinarian??) was entirely necessary but It just goes to show that live theater is always intriguing and that a story you think you know by rote can still surprise. Not since Rod Serling's Carol For Another Christmas turned this venerable chestnut into an anti-war sermon has a version demanded full audience attention. Five stars for challenging my expectations. The McCarter remains a treasure.

There is a narrative frame- device- that I found rather irritating. The protagonist is an old man who hires an actor to tell the story. This is over done and should be cut down. The first act is rather dull. It does come alive in the second act and redeems itself.Hence I wound up enjoying the play. If I were directing and I could take liberties , I 'd try to bring it more in line with the book. If it isn't scary it isn't anything. Too much dithering in the first part of the play.The actors , in challenging roles, did yeoman work. On the theater itself, the seats are very uncomfortable. It has a nice bar. I have just completed a huge project-moving my home movies in VHS form to DVDs. My children are…read morenow 28 and 29 years old and they both attended many classes at Workshops in Dance from about the ages of 8 to 18. Although I realized what a great dance education they received at the time, watching all of the videotapes over the past few weeks, I received a different perspective. I was able to see the gifts that my girls received in being mentored by the wonderful WID teachers. I observed how their confidence grew from year to year, how they learned to communicate through movement, how they were able to perform in many dances as they matured as dancers which gave them such a boost in self esteem. These classes helped my daughters develop friendships, gave them exposure to competition and in all made them better rounded kids. So, thank you to Karin and Judy particularly for having such a hand in my daughters maturity and for making them feel so good about themselves as they matured from adolescents to teenagers and to adults. Thank you for being partners in their development! Workshops in Dance was home to us for several years and home is where you can be yourself!

The people you interact with there are all extremely nice. There are no bad seats in the house. And it's also a big plus that the in and out of the parking lot is really easy, even after the show ends! My only small criticism is that there is usually no live music played for the songs. But I totally understand this because the prices are so low. However, they did have a live band play music for "Beautiful," which was actually my favorite show that I saw there. I hope people will continue to support this gem of a theatre!

Yesterday's performance was The Scarlet Pimpernel, which is my most favorite Broadway show. The cast really put me back in time with their great rendition of this show! They do have a bar area and a popcorn stand. I went for their 90 minute cat video event. During the preshow I learned that this is the oldest theater is America! How crazy is that! They have some fantastic shows coming up including many tribute bands as well as movie showings. I'm really hoping to get tickets see Joan Osborne singing the songs of Bob Dylan. Not only did we get to enjoy a night out in this charming town, but we also had the chance to be part of a place filled with history and character. Walking into the theatre felt like stepping back in time in the best way--warm, classic, and full of heart. The ambience was absolutely perfect. The cozy, intimate setting made the entire experience feel personal and inviting. From the moment we walked in, the energy was welcoming. The fresh-popped popcorn added that nostalgic movie-night touch, and the bartenders and staff members were incredibly friendly, helpful, and genuinely happy to be there. Their hospitality made the night even better. We came to see The Ultimate Doors, and what a show! The sound, the vibe, and the atmosphere all came together to create a memorable night. Actors get on the ride with you so it really keeps you on your toes. The field was just okay. The sets weren't as good and the timing for the walk through just seemed off. Entry took a long time even with purchasing tickets ahead of time. You still have to wait in line and show your QR code to obtain a physical ticket. There's a lot of fun things to do outside of the ticket experience. There was some pretty good livd music and bonfires. There were also occasional fire dancers on a side stage. Food was pretty mediocre. The funnel cake was good but the pumpkin one tasted the same as the regular. The cider was watered down. Overall we had a lot of fun.

Sleepy Hallow was a great thrill for some spooky Halloween fun!…read more I came to sleepy Halloween with my niece and nephew and we had a blast! I was able to purchase tickets ahead a team online and for the three of us it cost about 130.00 to see all the three attractions. At sleepy hallow you can experience the haunted house, the field and the haunted hayride. We decided to check out the haunted house first and I must say the actors did a great job, although I know it was all fake, it still gave me a great scare cause you never knew when some random zombie like person was gonna pop out. The field was fun as well. We walked the corn field while being chased by a crazy chainsaw man. Lastly the hayride was full of scary clowns and zombies popping out the bushes....oh my! Overall it's great for family fun and kids. It's also a good date night vibe. They also offer food such as funnel cake and pizza. They also have an amazing bon fire. I would definitely recommend visiting!
