This is my second time here at the Roxie Theater, the first show being Rocky Horror Show, and I loved it and had to come back for another show to really get a grasp of the experience The Roxie Theater had to offer before writing this review. This show was All Shook Up and I was not disappointed! The music is amazing and it gets you into the show and it is also hilarious, which is a plus. The place itself it somewhat small, but they know how to stage the whole place accordingly and make it spacious and amazing. Being a 360 theater All of the seats are good seats! So no matter where you sit you get a good view of the show! The staff is extremely friendly and kind since the first time I've walked in. They also have a bar with some alcoholic beverages ( beer, wine, sangria) nonalcoholic beverages (coke and water) some candies bars. At the end of the show you are able to go up and meet the cast and take pictures which is different than other places. I will be back for a few more shows I am excited that are coming up! They also have Disney productions for your children, in excited to bring my daughter here to experience and appreciate the arts when the next children's play is available!

CHICAGO the Musical was disappointing. Not worth the ticket price. I've enjoyed previous shows multiple times- totally over this spot.

This theater is located in the Wonderland mall, downstairs by the food court, in the old movie theater space once called The Bijou. How they've renovated the space to house quality theater now is impressive. This place is officially in our radar and we can't wait to experience another show.

The Bijou, which was known for showing more art and independent movies and served food, is now the Wonder Theater. The play was the Wiz and was pretty good as far as community theater goes. Many of the plays for this season's lineup are geared towards children and are affordable. The ticket prices were: $36.00 adults, $26.00 seniors and $18.00 students and children. The lobby, concession stand and seating area have been revamped, and a small stage has been added. Seating is fairly spacious, with new seats and a very clean theater. The lobby area is similar to the Bijou's, with a small full serve concession stand, selling popcorn and other goodies. This locale is worth a visit if you are partial to theater, regardless of it being Broadway or community. Many of the shows are from Friday to Sunday, and are great way to spend the afternoon/evening.

When we arrived, there was a variety of different food trucks and vendors, definitely something for everyone! Unfortunately, we didn't plan ahead and bring a chair so we stood for a good chunk of it, but it was worth it all. The musicians were all so incredibly talented and honestly provided me with so much serotonin that I didn't know was be possible. The ambience was incredible and everyone seemed like they were having a good time. The only downside is having to wait a whole year before getting to attend something like this again, but truly can't recommend it enough!

Tips for your first visit: It takes place in the amphitheater right outside of the food court and movie theater. The audience is in the shade by 6:30pm but it's still HAWT - bring water folks! They usually have two or three performers, with the headliner going on at 9:00pm. No coolers allowed since they sell beer and wine at the event. People set up chairs 5 days before the event. If you have a small group of 5 or 6 peeps you can roll in around 630pm and get a decent spot. Not the best view, but still a good spot to chill out and listen to the tunes. VIP area available too - PM me for tips on sneaking into that - I only share it with select people LOL. ;-) Not sure if they have port-a-potties or not, but I recommend using the indoor facilities located in the food court, right behind Goomba's Pizza Food trucks and beer booths on the premises. If the lines are too long at those, mosey on inside to the food court and get something pretty quick (and enjoy the air conditioning). Look for the Balcones Heights Fire Department ladder truck - they give FREE rides in the bucket and you get to view the entire venue! Do it early, because they shut down before the concert is over. Final and MOST important tip: Stay out of the fountain - the po-po will shut your party down! :)
