I got a partial highlight from Tony after asking for a light, natural touch up to my previous coloring and left with streaky over-blonde highlights (almost yellow) that do not even go to my roots. I would go back to fix it but I don't think I trust the place enough. I was told the salon would be worth it due to the price but I disagree completely. I have continued to see her for my hair and beard grooming, and have only modified the review to bring it current. This review is for the services I received from Janelle. I have a relatively big beard and I am a late-30s professional. So, finding a stylist that can make me look neat and orderly while not simply turning me into a corporate clone is tricky. I have had my hair and beard trimmed in many cities while traveling for work, and a few locally. Anyhow, it was time to get the beard shaped and cleaned up, the eyebrows tidied, and the hair trimmed too, and I started seeing Janelle. I think it's accurate to say that my expectations were restrained because I have had many bad stylist experiences, especially with the beard. Thank goodness Janelle re-inflated my expectations with a terrific 90-minutes of services. She listened closely to what I wanted, checked-in every now and then to see if she was doing what I wanted, and sometimes seemed to completely lose herself in getting me to where I wanted to be with the hair. She was professional, conversational, attentive, and polite, without being fake or pretentious. And she did one hell of a job on my hair and beard and eyebrows. I left already knowing I'd be back to see her before she had even finished. What a relief to have found someone I can entrust my periodic grooming to. Nearly two years after my first visit with Janelle, I have followed her to Roxys in Livermore because she is just that good. I have seen her probably 12 or more times since the first visit in 2016. Allison is amazing!!!!! I let her chop off my long hair this weekend into a cute a line bob and I am so impressed with the outcome! All of the layers are blended really well, no choppiness at all. The a line in front is symmetrical and flows perfectly. I also had some highlights added and the color is just what I wanted, a nice cool tone blonde which looks great with the honey blonde of my natural coloring. Allison is great, dos a perfect job, very professional, made sure to ask what I liked and how I wanted my hair to look, something I think is really important when establishing the client/stylist relationship. First of all, making the appointment was easy peasy. I had called other salons prior and they all took a while to get back to me, but roxy was fast! Came here today for a haircut and ombré, and I'm glad I came here! Its a fairly small salon but it's cute and has a cozy feel to it. There was only one girl working at the time (her 2 other coworkers had left and I was the only client anyway). Liz did an amazing job! She's very considerate and asked the right questions to make sure she gave me the results I wanted. I also told her that I had to leave in 1.5 hrs and she finished in time! I know how hard it could be to do an ombré and haircut in that amount of time. She was so sweet and so easy to talk to. And seemed genuine too. She told me I could come back again if I wanted it lighter for no cost. Ombré + haircut for $130, not bad in comparison to other salons and the quality. Just moved to Livermore, and one of the dreaded tasks...finding someone I could trust to cut my hair! I made an appointment for a cut and blow dry with Allison, and I am so glad I did! She asked a lot of questions, to make sure I got what I wanted. And she even curled my hair for me because she knew I had someplace important to go afterward. After my last haircut, everyone was convinced that I would let it grow out because they didn't think I could love my short hair more than my long hair. TERRIBLE PLACE!!! called and set an appt for 130. Get there and Roxy herself is the only one there working on someone else's hair. I sit there till 150 and then another person comes in and also has a appt for a haircut. Now she is rushing, she moves the other person over and wants to now rush through my haircut because she is behind. I told her that I didn't want to rush my hair is long and I needed my hair washed as well as discussed on the phone. She looked at me like I was crazy. I just told her it's ok I'll just go I don't want to be rushed. She said ok and never bothered to apologize for the fact that she clearly cannot book her day correctly. Will never go here again. Wow. Trista Hall gave me the best haircut I've had since leaving San Francisco. I needed a last minute haircut while in town from Seattle for a funeral. After researching Livermore salons on yelp I gave Roxy's a call. Trista was willing to stay and take me at 5pm on Saturday July 30. She took the time to understand the look I was going for, and she had the skill to execute a stylish of the moment cut. I left with a great blow out.
