Savannah is the absolute best!!!! So I was in need of a hairstylist when mine moved to Texas . I started looking at pictures at a different salon in Pleasanton and came across Savanna. I just loved her work. I messaged her and found out she no longer works there but has since moved to Pepper Salon. Salon is super cute!! Parking can be tricky but it's worth it because Savannah does such a great job. I was very happy with my cut and color. I even brought my daughter to get her hair done. She not only does great hair but she's got an great personality. I love her vibe. Very easy to talk to. As for the salon it is very nice & well organized. I love that they have cute products to purchase such as wet brushes . There is always a bowl of candy on the table which is a nice . If you're looking for a quality hair salon and hair technician definitely make an appointment with Pepper Salon. Their website gives you a good introduction to their services and pricing. Their social media further allows you to look into their master stylist and their work. Love the overall upfront honesty/ transparency. DETAILED REVIEW Appointment: I discovered Pepper Salon while in search for a hairstylist who was familiar with a specific hair cut called hime/hush cut. I messaged the salon asking if they had a stylist who is familiar and or has the ability achieve the style. They swiftly messaged me back with an honest and knowledgeable answer. They told me they were not familiar with the hairstyle name but after further research on their part they understood what the hair style entails and said all their master hairstylist were able to achieve the look. I really appreciated the extra step they took to research the hairstyle. I was able to then make an appointment within the same week of messaging them. One thing to mention is that it seems you cannot set up an appointment with Kristen through their website feature (I could be wrong so double check). I'm not sure how else you could make an appointment with her unless you directly message or call the salon. I was automatically set up with kristen at random since I did not request for a specific stylist. So lucky me I guess :) Hospitality: When I arrived at the salon I was a bit earlier than the set appointment time so I waited in the waiting area. One of the stylist noticed I was waiting and kindly offered me some beverages. Hair stylist: I was lucky enough to have my first appointment at Pepper Salon be with Kristen. She is very warm and welcoming! I had a bit of anxiety going to the salon considering I had not gotten a hair cut in a couple of years but all that disappeared once I started conversing with Kristen. She really took the time to listen to the history of my hair, my hair management level, and of course the desired outcome. As another reviewer mentioned Kristen really does have a gentle touch with your hair so that's great for those with sensitive scalp like me. Towards the end of the appointment when styling the hair Kristen listened to last minute small adjustments I wanted. I know a lot of people tend to hold back on last minute request but trust me, Kristen is really nice so don't be afraid and kindly ask for those small adjustments. Hair cut: Let me start off by saying I absolutely LOVE my haircut. I don't think I've ever had such beautiful layers while still managing to keep the length of my hair relatively long. I really emphasized that my goal is to continue growing my hair so Kristen took a look at the condition of my hair and we only cut what was desired/needed. I don't curl my hair often so it was important to me that my hair looked good with or without using a hair iron to manage the layers. And let me tell you WOW the layers are so beautiful. Service & Pricing: Pepper Salon has a website that list their services and general pricing for each of those services. If you can't find exactly what you're looking for you can message them as I did and provide them with details. Of course pricing will vary based on the length and condition of your hair (all salons do this) so if you want a $quote then I would suggest having a consultation with your stylist. Everyone has a different take on what is considered "affordable", "cheap", and "over priced" so I won't speak on that. However I will say, the pricing is comparable to the average price of hair services in this general area with this level of professionalism. She offered a few solutions, but I ended up just wanting my hair redone how I wanted it, which she did-- plus gave me a discount for the mishap. Such great customer service! P.s. I walked in to Pepper Salon with dry, unruly and sometimes frizzy COVID hair. Felicia Yulo was able transform my hair with only a haircut and blow out. I left with silky soft hair that was easy to manage again! My hair has shape again and is full of movement and life! I'm looking forward to my next appointment with Felicia! COVID-19 is being treated with respect at Pepper Salon. This is super important to me, especially as a new grandma with health issues. Not only were customers having their temperature taken after waiting for a phone call or text inviting them in, we were asked to use hand sanitizer before we were granted full entry into the salon. Felicia and all staff were wearing masks properly the entire time I was there. I never saw "chin guards" or "earring masks" the whole time I was there. I watched each station getting sanitized between customers. From where I sat I could also see the hair washing sink. One customer at a time and thoroughly cleaned and sanitized between customers. I had a very negative experience here. I was just going to wash my hands clean and not write a review but the more I think about it, I'm so mad!!! I went in there for a balayage. Long story short, after sitting in the chair for 4 hours, the stylist and her "help" basically laughed at the "orange" hair I was given... It did not make me feel reassured. It made me really annoyed how I was treated. I've ALWAYS gone from dark hair to highlights. No problem EVER! Now I have variations of orange strands, copper strands, and a couple blonde strands. AND not only that, my hair is SO DAMAGED! It knots up immediately after brushing it. I got my money back but that doesn't make me feel good!!! I went in there for a service, got terrible results, results that are going to have to stay for awhile. So I basically went to a salon to get my hair messed up for free. Unbelievable. I'm so sad I chose this stylist. She never considered my curly fine hair either. Horrible experience all around. Stephanie did an amazing job with my hair. It has been many years since I had my hair professionally colored. The color was relatively even but reallygold, drthe ends, with demarcation and gray roots. She help me find a cut that would give me more volume and less weight, touched up my gray roots, added in low lights and a full head of highlights and toner and hair mask. I called Pepper hoping for a color correction after a bad experience at another salon. They called me back right away, even though I wasn't an existing client, and put me in touch with Felicia, who texted that same day for details and pictures. After asking lots of questions and really listening to what I wanted, she booked me in for the same week, even though the salon is super busy. The time and effort both she and the salon took right up front were really reassuring. When I got there, my hair was a flat, inky black. It had no dimension, like I'd dipped my head in ink. Felicia looked it over, asked more questions and then proceeded to give me the most beautiful, blended set of full-highlights I've ever had. What w a flat, single-process black, is now warm and dimensional and full of light, while remaining subtle and really natural looking. She even managed create the overall illusion of warm espresso brown, which is what I'd hoped for in the first place! I literally had butterflies when she finished drying it, I was so happy Felicia is masterful and calm and so patient. I immediately felt like I was in the best hands, and I really was. I have been a client of Pepper Salon for just under a year now. When I was first referred to Pepper, I had heard nothing but glowing reviews about the salon, as well as the owner Kristen. I used the salons Instagram account to determine which stylist would be the best fit for me - which I highly recommend doing, as there are highlight reels for each stylist so you can really get a feel for their work. All of the Pepper stylists's work looked amazing, but I had been wanting to transition from an ombré to a balayage and I knew Shelby was the stylist for me. One of Shelby's many strengths is her balayage technique, which is exactly what I was looking for! From my very first visit to Pepper, Shelby was incredibly welcoming and easy going, and really listened to what I wanted to achieve with my hair color. She took the time to explain the entire balayage process and how she would help me achieve my color goals. I have had several appointments with Shelby now, and every time I leave the salon feeling like she really listened to me. I have never been more in love with my hair than I am now! As someone who has had experiences at other salons where the look you are trying to achieve never really seems to be captured in the final product, I can confidently say that that is never the case with Shelby!
